Very Nice. Never really considered the fact that so many other people dropped the ball on reporting him. Not that it shifts the blame away from the shooter, but if just one of those other folks whould have stood up, maybe this would have been avoided. Good job with the interview.

So, Comcast just bought NBC (which includes MSNBC) and apparently didn't see eye to eye with Kieth Olberman, so he is no longer going to be a bews anchor there. Funny thing is, I never watch him, and last Friday landed on his show while channel surfing. I stopped out of curiosity to see how he thinks, but could only take about 10 minutes of his blathering. If I had stuck it out, I would have witnessed his resignation.

I saw www.usaammo.com pop up in one of the TGO banner ads and clicked it. Looks like they sell their own reloads, but the prices look very reasonable. Most of the pricier ammo that you get for "a good price" at Walmart, like .380, .45, etc, is a lot cheaper. Don't know what their shipping costs are like, so that could factor in.

I bought a cheap sharpener from Walmart, the kind where you clamp the blade and use a stone on a guide rod. The first time I used it I hated it. Seems like it didn't get the blade sharp at all, and just made my blade look uneven. I couldn't stand how dull my knife was, so Ipulled out the sharpener again last weekend, adn really gave it a college try. Looks to me like the two angles provided by the sharpener did not match the angle of my blade. so, I really went at the blade with the course stone, and made my knife blade a new angle. Now it is seriously sharp. For the money I paid for it, I'm pleased with the results.

FREE training in Emergency Medical Care

Wow, what a great deal. I was looking into the Wilderness First Responder class, until I realized it was aroung $800. Wish they offered this free one Knoxville. -
I'll throw out another suggestion for a location. Frozen Head State Park is right outside of Wartburg. It has several different trails, with whatever length and difficulty you like. It will definitely be open. Plus it is HCP friendly, since it is a State Park. If you consider it, I would recommend staying at the Tub Springs camp site, as it is fairly large, and is right next to a guaranteed water source (however it still needs to be treated or filtered). I would also recommend not selecting the Bird Mountain Trail. It is long and very steep.

This sounds like a great time. I'd be interested in going too. I like that you are not planning a bare minimalist trip. I would love to learn the ways of the survivalist, but still enjoy my tent. One thing though, the Catoosa Wildlife Management Area over there is closed for an "Animal Rest Period" for all of Feb. and March. If the back country area you were thinking of is in Catoosa, I'm pretty sure it is closed to everyone. And I mean everyone. I kayak in that area, and simply want egress / ingress access to the rivers, but I am denied access.

Feedback from Motorcycle guys! VStar Classic 650
analog_kidd replied to Smith's topic in General Chat
I have the 1100 VStar Classic, and love it. No problems from it at all. It is difficult to change the plugs though. You have to completely remove the exhaust pipe to get to one plug. I don't even try. I just take it to my local shop, get a price BEFORE they do the work, then smile at them as I'm paying my bill and they are complaining how they'll never work on one of them again. I wait a year and they forget. -
Stumbled on this website, The Art of Manliness, today. Some interesting articles. If you find any that are really man-worthy, please post a link. Enjoy: The Art of Manliness | Men's Interests and Lifestyle

If the CD drive is one that is ejectable, remove it and put it back in. On some laptops, there is a slider on the bottom that you can push adn will allow the entire drive to come out. On some cheaper laptops the drive is built in and you would have to open up the whole laptop guts to remove teh drive. Wouldn't recommend that unless you are confident in your ability to get it all back together. sometimes just reseating the device will make it come back to life. Have you tried booting in Safe Mode to see if the drive is still there? You could also try to insert your Windows CD and reboot to see if the PC will try to boot from the CD. If it does, then you know that the drive is OK and it;s a problem inside Windows.

If you have not yet done so, go to the store right now and buy milk and bread!

I used to get a lot of unsolicited postal mail, but I put my name on the national do not send list and now I rarely get stuff. Of course that does not impact businesses that you already do business with, like the NRA if you are a mamber. One thing I do with junk mail is when I get a postage paid return envelope for something, I'll put some other junk mail in it and send it back to them. Of course I make sure nothing has my name or address on it before I send it back. When you snd those envelopes back, the company has to pay for it, but they are just paying for more junk. Makes me laugh every time I do it.

I have a buddy at work that complains he gets a couple of things a week from them. I get maybe one thing every month or two. Not sure why he gets so much and I get so little, I've never requested to get off the mailing list. I also never sent back anything to them other than my initial registration. I've never signed up for all the "benefits" they offer, so maybe that's part of it.

Been listening to a website www.grooveshark.com for music. It's similar to Pandora Radio, but you can select exactly the songs you want to hear, set up playlists. You can even search for and listen to entire albums, in case you want to listen before you buy.

Changing Keltec P3AT Grip
analog_kidd replied to analog_kidd's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Here is the link to the page I found the new grip: Kel-Tec CNC - P-3AT Accessories, P-3AT Parts - P3AT-300 Grip (available in black, gray, and olive) Looks like it is just the plastic part, but it does say that it includes all internal parts. I'm thinking it's probably the mag release they are talking about. I'll look around for the Houge covers. That may be agood option. Thanks for the idea. -
I have a P3at with grey grips. I bought it during the height of the .380 rush and even though I don't really like the grey grips, I bought it anyway because I would have had to wait for who knows how long to find another. I was thinking of trading it in for a Ruger .380, since they only offer it in the black that I really wanted and it has a better finish anyway. But then I got looking around and found out that a new grip can be purchased for around $30. I figured I'll probably come out ahead if I replace the grip instead of trading up. Has anyone here ever replaced the grip on a P3AT? How hard is it? If I have to take it to a Smith, I'll probably be better off with a trade.

His personal cell phone should not be used for work related calls. If it is so important that the boss get in touch with him while out on company business, then the boss should provice a company phone. I'd get the phone wiped, and tell the boss not to call it unless it is an off hours emergency. Or change the number. Get a free Google Voice number and give that out. You can point the Google Voice number to the cell phone so that it rings when someone calls the GV #. But using the GV account options, you can set certain incoming #'s to be blocked, go straight to voice mail, etc.

The guys on TV were complaining of misfeeds and jams too. At one point the GG was setting an ambush, then his gun jammed when he went to fire. Clearing it alerted the BG's to his position.

Was watching a show called Special Ops Mission on the Military Channel. It's a show where they simulate a bunch of bad guys protecting some assets, and a good guy is sent in to infiltrate and destroy an objective. Fairly interesting. Much of it is filmed from a first person view, similar to Survivor Man. Anyway, one of the objectives is to take out the enemy. They were using actual M16's, but loaded them with something they called Simmunition. Basically it is a paintball loaded inside an actual round. Sounded to me like it did not have the same powder load. Anyway, they said the rounds were something new, but only available to military and law enforcement. I was wondering if anyone had seen them in person?
