1. Leave the door ajar, or tape over the latch, when they kick the door it will fly open. Now it's breaking and entering, or a home invasion. The cops will be much more interested at this point.   But seriously, the game camera is the best idea.
2. I recently bought a new radio for the truck, and it came with one of those USB ports. I found a 16gb USB flash drive, that is really short. In fact the usb plug portion is about twice as long as the body part of it. It sticks out from the radio about a 1/4 inch, so it actually looks like it is part of the radio. The best part is no wires anywhere.   Anyway, I've got about 100 albums on there, after removing some of the songs I don't care for from each album, plus a large folder of one hit wonders. Then I just put the player on random. Every song is one I like and I rarely hear a song repeat. I call it Dave-FM to my wife.
3. Did anyone else notice that the final scene this season was very similar to the final scene of last? Last year it ended with Jax seated at the table and Tara standing behind him, almost as if she said "I'm on board and behind you". This season, it ended with Jax seated at a table and Gemma standing behind him, like she was back at her rightful place. I had a feeling that Tara was going to go to jail somehow.I didn't think Gemma would really rat her out though. Seems like too much of a risk. I'm actually sorry to see Pope go. I thought he was a good villain, and this show needs them. Pope had lots to teach Jax about mixing the criminal element with being a standup citizen. Holy cow! I can't get the image of Otto laughing with a bloody mouth out of my head. That was some crazy stuff right there. I thought it was interesting how the cop changed this season. Last season he was a hard nose about everything. This season he had softened and almost had a wink wink nod kind of relationship with Jax. Bet that's how Unser started out with the club.
4.
The only issue I have with cell phone only is at that point then everyone has your cell number. It seems with a "home" phone that telemarketers and the like could call that number and that would keep them off my cell. Please correct me if that is wrong.
I've mentioned this several times on this site, but a Google Voice number will work for you here. The number is free, and is yours for life (or until they discontinue the service). They way it works is, you set up the account and enter any phone numbers you like. When anyone calls the Google number, all of the phones you entered in the account ring at once. Whichever one you pick up is the one the call gets routed to. Then give out the Google Voice number to business, or people that might sell it to tellemarketers. If any of them get out of hand, you can block their number. You can also set up times that it will forward to your phones. So, make the latest a call will be forwarded at like 6:00 and you'll never hear from telemarketers after that time. You can also set up groups, like family or friends that always get routed to your phones, no mater the time. You can also set up groups of numbers that always go to voice mail, You can also use it to place long distance calls for the price of a local call. If you call the Google number from any of your phones, it recognizes that, and gives you a menu of options. One of them is to place a long distance call. You enter the number and Google places the call on your behalf. But, all you've done is make a local call.
5. I use VMware Player to run a virtual Windows 7 machine on my computer. I installed the O/S and all updates and an antivirus on the VM. Other than that, it is a plain install. Then I set the virtual disk to be non-persistent. What this does is when I power off the VM, any changes that happened on the drive are completely forgotten and erased. It rolls back to just like the day I first set it up. I use this VM to browse websites, especially ones I don't trust. Also use it to test out freeware that I may download from the net. Then if anything gets onto the VM, I just power it down and restart it and it's like it never happened.
6.
In theory this would work. The only problem is that anything of this nature could not be kept at a store level. I would also put money on the store manager not being the one who made the decision to fire the employee; it was likely made by a district manager in conjunction with the Loss Prevention department. Someone at least at the district, if not corporate made the decision to terminate this employee.
Man, I hope they didn't make the manager do the firing. If they told me to do it, I'd say "screw that, you come and do it yourself. He just saved my life". or maybe even, "when you come down to fire him, bring a new store manager with you too, cause we'll walk out together"
7. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/12/03/veterans-gun-rights-sticking-point-in-defense-bill/ This makes me so mad. This coming from a Congress that has no clue about how to properly manage finances. They have not had a budget in years, and have overspend our treasury like drunken sailors. And they think others should be stripped of their rights because they can't balance a check book.
8. I think I saw a sign in one of the local Christian bookstores that said they could rebind bibles.
9. I have a feeling this is being blown up because it was her "Service Weapon". Had it been a personally owned handgun there probably wouldn't have been as much of a to do. Stupid all the same, a gun is a gun.
10. 1- Hey everyone watch this.... Hello, Mr. President? Is your refrigerator running? Better go catch it! Ha ha, gets him every time. 3 - Yep, as suspected, the patient has no detectable pulse. 4 -What!?! They've got How to be a Vice President for Dummies. I need three! 5 - As soon as I'm done here I'm gonna have Mr. Grumpy, behind me over there, take all this crap back.
11. It's great of the lender if the borrower asks for forgiveness and they give it. There is no shame or ethical problem in asking. But if you ask and the lender says "sorry, we'd like our money", then she should have to pay it back. The ironic part is, if they did forgive her debt, the government considers that "income", almost as if the lender gave her the money to pay it back. So, she'll owe income tax on that amount. $10k = roughly $2.5k she'll still owe the government in tax, and I don't think the IRS would be so generous. When my son was young, he wanted to buy a car, and I cosigned for him. He was very responsible and made his payments on time, so no problems for me. However, the finance guy at the dealership made it VERY clear I would be responsible for paying this off if there was any reason my son didn't. You'd have to be foolish to not understand what you are getting into by cosigning.
12. A friend had some fun with some knukleheads that were parking illegally at work a few years ago. He printed up some very authentic looking fake parking tickets. I think he even put on there that there was a $20 or so fine that they could pay by mail by sending a money order to a certain address. The address was some charity. They stopped parking there.

14. I still think the TSA should sell those Post Office "If it fits, it ships" boxes to passengers and let them mail it back home. Now, they collect the items and take them to the dumpster, with my idea they collect the boxes and take them to the airport mail drop. It would go a long way to fostering good feelings with the TSA.
15. Oops, didn't realize there was already a thread about this one: http://www.tngunowne...ck-friday-rage/ Apologies for the double post.
16.
42 Million dead in bloodiest black friday weekend. http://www.theonion....-weekend,30517/ The Onion always manages to crack me up.
Off topic, but did anyone see that North Korea quoted the Onion in an article where they claimed leader Kim Jong Un was the sexiest man alive? Apparently the North Korean's don't understand satire or sarcasm.
17. http://oakridgetoday.com/2012/11/27/wysh-black-friday-meets-road-rage/#more-12978 And he has (had) a HCP, which is doubly stupid. This guy needs to go to jail for a while. The poetic justice of the story is the victims' husband was driving behind the shooter and witnessed the whole thing. I'm sure he had great restraint after witnessing someone shooting at his wife. If it was me, there would likely be two people going to jail.
18. http://www.amazon.com/Gerber-22-01769-Shard-Keychain-Tool/dp/B002ZK45IQ I bought one of these a while back and love it. I'm going to get one for each of my kids. It fits easily with my keys, and a biner fits perfectly through the hole.
19.
I have a hard time believing any of this. All of the things you mentioned seem like they would add more work to product by making them "different", which should raise the price.
Well you know "My Sister's Boyfriend's Friend" is nearly as reliable a source as "I read it on the Internet" But, consider clothing, where you are just substituting a lesser quality fabric into the existing process, which would not make it any more difficult for the workers. Or in the case of a computer, using refurbished drives instead of brand new ones does not add any more complexity to the process other than the person purchasing the components. I don't know if the story is true or not, I just heard it over a turkey and beer induced conversation and it seemed plausible.
20. My sister's boyfriend has a friend in the retail business as a merchandiser, He says that most of the stuff that stores have on sale at extraordinary discounts are manufactured specially for the sale and are usually inferior quality as compared to the same item sold a month ago. He says that name brand clothes are made with cheaper material, electronics are skimped on quality components or parts are missing altogether, such as ports on a laptop or refurbished hard drives. He also said if you compare model numbers on some merchandise, you'll see that they vary slightly, like an extra letter or number at the end. This means it was made specifically for the retailer for the sale.
21. If you've ever looked at the properties of an email you've received in a client like Outlook, you'll see that the email has passed through several servers on its' way from the sender to you. Any one of them could potentially capture your message and store it. It's also not unthinkable that Big Brother could at some time require all emails to pass through one of their servers, and they can capture and store it themselves.

Holidays

A couple of our big box stores in town had Christmas stuff out at the beginning of October. If you figure in the after Christmas liquidation sales that go on thru Janurary, that is 4 months, or 1/3 of the year selling Christmas. Disgusting.

Holidays

My favorite holiday is New Years, Not because of the partying, I usually stay home, but because the Christmas season is officially over.
24. I think Norris is $30 per person. Since my wife and I go shoot together frequently, that put us at $60. And, since I live in Oak RIdge, I figured I'd come close to spending the balance in gas. Plus, since it's so close, I can just swing by any evening after work and pick up all the free brass that may be laying around. It really is a nice place. Not sure if it was mentioned, but they have a great archery range there too. Two trails with several stations on them that you can shoot from stands or on the ground at all kinds of lifelike targets.
25. Of them all, Roger Moore was my least favorite. It always seemed like he tried to be a funny guy Bond, and it just came of as weak to me. Sean Connery was definitely my favorite, but I think he has been replaced by Craig. Seems like Craig is just a bad-ass.
