Sean Penn is another POS hypocrite that hates guns and America, who has a new action movie coming out portraying him as a badass tough guy, ex soldier, saving the world using guns. I can usually separate the art from the artist, but with Penn, I can't even stand to look at him. He literally disgusts me so bad that I refuse to watch anything he is in.   I may watch Neeson's new movie, but I'll wait till I can watch it for free. 

I got one just like that from Buds in Sevierville a few months back. It was in great shape and super clean - did not have all the cosmoline all over it that you hear stories about. I did take it down to refinish the wood. While I had it all apart, just for the sake of doing it, I disassembled the bolt, and found a hidden cache of cosmoline. The importer did a good job of cleaning the exterior, but overlooked the details. I'd recommend doing the same with yours. Plus, you'll learn more about how your rifle works.

Yeah, I think Carol got the chocolate as a cover story. She went for it first. In case she got caught, she had her story of why she was in the room. The threat to the kid was genius too. It was so over the top, nobody would believe the kid even if he did tell someone. If confronted about the kid, she can just confess about the chocolate and say he was mistaken / lying, or she could even blame the chocolate theft on the kid and turn it around onto him.

I was reading an article someone had written where their theory is that the wolves are actually Rick's group, and that they could become the aggressors. Given Rick's comment at the end of the show, it kinda fits.   There were several Easter Eggs hidden in this episode. One was on Rick's new Constable badge, a Latin phrase that translates to "We will Rise again". That could be interpreted to support the above theory.   The comic book was actually a real comic written by the show's creator, Robert Kirkland.

Most people ducked out of work today, and those who didn't were leaving early to beat the ice. My wife called and asked me to please come home before the ice got so bad I'd be stuck. So, I came on home, driving down perfectly fine roads. No snow, no ice, just some puddles.   :panic:

The first things I install are MS Security Essentials and Chrome.   I've also been using Keepass a lot lately. I've been making an effort this year to not use the same password for everything, and to use a really long and strong password for each site. The cool thing about Keepass is you can create an entry for each password, and include the URL. Then from Keepass you just open the entry, click the URL, which opens the site, and press Ctrl-V to have Keepass enter your username and password for you on the web page.   Other than that, I install VMware Player. I like to run VM's on my PC to try out different OS', or if I am "surfing" and may end up on an untrusted web page, I use the VM. That way if I get a virus, it craps up my VM, and not my whole PC. I even have one VM where the disk reverts back to a known state if I power the VM off. If I do get anything on this drive, just powering it off makes it like nothing ever happened.

As far as the ACA, using TurboTax, they just ask you if you had health care coverage during the previous year. There is also a new box on your W-2 form (box 12b with code DD) that lists how much your employer contributed to your health care. It is just there for informational purposes for now, but I think that in a year or two, that will be included in the income portion of your taxes. Mine was $12k, so that means I'll have to pay tax on $12k more of income, that I didn't have to pay in the past, and with no noticeable padding of my wallet.

We have rental properties, and the first year to do taxes after buying one of the properties, I thought I need a pro to help me out, so I went down to the H&R Block office. A few months later I bought a book on tax deductions for landlords, and chapter one talked about depreciation of basis. It a big deal for rental property, and H&R completely overlooked it. They made it right by filing an amended return for me, but it was that fact that I had to point it out to them that led me to think I could do it on my own. Plus they charged me like $400!   I have been using TurboTax ever since. They have an online version specifically geared for landlords, and it's very easy to use. I did my taxes this year in about two hours, and that included gathering up all my receipts and paperwork and updating some personal spreadsheets. It was even on sale when I did mine, so it only cost me $59.

I kept thinking that one of the group would have to shoot one of the guns they "loaned" them, and find out the bullets were blanks. Seems odd that even the trusted townspeople had to turn in their guns when they are done with them   For some reason I felt like everything that went on was a set up by the townspeople. Even the disagreement / thrown punches by the kid and Glenn. It just felt like they acted all of that out for some other purpose. Also, the girl sneaking out right there where Carl would see her seemed suspect, then pausing briefly so Carl could catch up and see her disappear into the woods.    Daryl carrying the possum into the interview was classic. Then seeing him gut it right on the porch of their new house was funny. He definitely seems out of place in this new town. I'm surprised the congresswoman didn't put him on the supply run team. 

I heard on the news this morning that Facebook shut down the kid's page. His video is still up on YouTube.

  Are there other warships named after anyone whose service was generally unremarkable, and whose only claim to fame was being seriously wounded? I'm sure there are ships named after people who have been wounded or died, but they usually suffered from being extraordinary.

Somebody explain to me why he was even arrested. Is it illegal to even posess a gun in NJ? Seems like if it was unloaded and out of reach by being in the glove box, transportation law would have kicked in. How are you supposed to get a gun from the store to the house?

  That's right. TN does not require a survey for any private property. I didn't get a survey for any of the five houses I have bought.  In subdivision type neighborhoods, it is assumed the property lines are well established. If you don't make a deal of it now, you'll have a harder time later.

I would definitely send a certified letter to both him and his realtor. If you live in a city, I might even get the city involved, and let them do the dirty work if the neighbor is being a jerk about it. If you can prove it's over the line, you might be able to convince him (through the realtor or city) to quit-claim the fence over to you, then it's yours before any new owners show up. Then you can decide what to do with it: tear it down,  move it or leave it. But make sure the realtor makes it clear to the new owners who it belongs to.   In most city neighborhoods that have regular shaped rectangle lots, there are metal pins at every corner of your lot. They are like pieces of rebar hammered into the ground. Sometimes they are cemented into the curb by the road. If you can find these yourself, it would be pretty easy to eyeball or snap a line between them for visual proof. Of course for the back corner you'll have to walk across "your neighbors" property on the other side off the fence.

Like printer manufacturers that sell the printers for cheap, but make their money on ink over the life of the printer, I'm sure Keurig doesn't make much money on the hardware, but depends on people buying their coffee packs. I can't really fault them, they are losing a revenue stream to all the knockoff companies. This seems like an attempt to keep some of that revenue, but it wasn't really very well thought out. Of course someone would come up with a way to overcome the restriction - that's the American way.   What Keurig really needs to do is figure out a way to make an economical coffee packet that can compete with the knockoffs. Stunts like this just make your customer base angry.

I was thinking all the people who protest Big Oil and Coal are sitting in their nice warm houses this week, not thinking about where that heat comes from.

  Ha! When I told my wife I wanted to try and make some paracord stuff, she said, "Oh, you mean macrame? I have a book on it around here somewhere."  I lost my interest.

I felt silly today. I was the ONLY one in my group to come into work this morning. Tomorrow, I'm checking email first thing before I leave, and I'll be doing whatever the boss is  :dirty:

Man, I would have liked to have been at this concert. When I first heard about this album, I thought It's gotta be a joke. The more I think about it, Pink Floyd was really a Blues band, so It makes sense that Gov't mule covers them. I think they pulled it off fairly well.   http://youtu.be/nu51PBboaMY
