  1.   Were you there running the match on Saturday the 16th?  If so, we met.  I was with Jake from Michigan who shot Palma both days.  I shot his old Savage .308 and had a great time, but couldn't make it on Sunday.  I'm really hoping to put together a kit of what I need so I can start attending matches with my own equipment!
  2. I had a friend visit last weekend so he could shoot a 600 and 1000yd club match at Arnold Air Force Base and he was nice enough to bring his Savage .308 he had used in F/TR for the past couple years.  Even though the temperature never topped 30*, it was a ton of fun and something I'd really like to get into more.   I don't really see any discussion of long range target shooting on here.  Does anyone do it?  What's the longest range close to Franklin?
  3. Bringing this back up to the top!  Still looking!
  4. Sounds good, no big rush.  Thanks!
  5. Not sure if there are many people on here who might have recommendations, but maybe!   I live in Franklin (TN, not KY) and would love to find a reasonable cost company to mow my lawn and maybe do some light landscaping.  The weeds are out of control and I just don't have the time or interest in taking care of it myself.   Also, any idea what I might pay to have a .33 acre lot done?
  6. Have you decided what you want to do for flooring when the time comes? My garage got horribly cluttered over the winter, so this re-org was long overdue. Finding the cabinets while I was building the shelf was a huge bonus that kinda pushed the general cleanup to a full on project.
  7. Unless you're law enforcement or otherwise trained in handling a situation like that, I'd think you would have a better chance of escalating the situation and doing more harm than good.
  8. Thanks! I've got a coax cable dangled through the wall that is just BEGGING to have a flat screen attached to it... Maybe after I finish the current projects and add another big shelf over the garage door. It's just me and my wife, so we don't need a ton of storage, but it's cheap to add, nice to have and is huge for resale in our very family-oriented neighborhood. lose very l
  9. Did some work on my garage...it's coming along. Built a 15.5' shelf in the front that could hold a pair of motorcycles if you could get them up there Also picked up 10' of wall and base cabinets for cheap on Craigslist. Been wanting to add cabinets for a while now and there will do the job. Probably going to repaint them at some point and will definitely be replacing the temporary plywood countertop I put on them, but they're already SO nice to have. I'll probably be mounting the wall cabinets this weekend. Going to add under-cabinet lighting and a bunch of electrical outlets in the near future as well. And eventually decide on what I want to do for flooring. Either industrial epoxy or maybe some PEI 5 tile. Anyone ever laid down the heavy duty epoxy? I'd do that in a minute if I had someone experienced to help out.
  10. Yup, sounds like the same type of place I worked at once. I remember my boss salivating over the prospect of some dude missing a payment on his relatively new and valuable (probably worth around 10k at the time) Camaro.
  11. Sounds like a ton of great options. I really appreciate all of the responses!
  12. Are you talking about the Goodlettsville Gun shop possibly? That's the only one I see near Hendersonville offering classes, at least via a quick google search.
  13. That sounds pretty nice! I plan on buying a Glock 17 to take the class (and because everyone needs to own at least one Glock and a 9mm handgun, so why not kill two birds with one stone...right? ), so if it is at a gun shop, they could also get my business along with the class enrollment!
  14. Any recommendations on where to go for the permit carry class in or around Franklin? I'd be happy to drive out to somewhere else, if there's a good reason to.Would it be OK to take my wife to the class as well, considering she has only put maybe 10 rounds through a pistol in her life? Or should I get her some range time first? I'm guessing it would be better for her to have someone experienced teaching her what to do, but I don't know if the classes are geared towards people with experience or not...Thanks!
