URL=http://s31.photobucket.com/user/atomic_colonic/media/image_zpsa4d78fbe.jpg.html][/URL] This is the property. It may be a little grown up grass wise. It has a creek and a few flat places. A building is on the property, used as storage and it has power if we should need it for any reason. It is right off the hwy, easily found and accessible. I figure if we park close to the road, camp on the dirt side of the " parking lot" next to the woods, we'll have several acres to compose our business. It opens up a lot under the canopy. It looks completely wooded, but being a paintball field, all the smaller trees and underbrush are long gone. The owner even has a homely shooting range against the back bank of the hill. It's about 25 ft, but we can find greater distances if need be. The restroom situation is of the "natural" variety. Come prepared... I'm working on my teaching strategy. I plan on following the universal rule of three. 3 hours in the elements. This may include core temperature regulation, layering, several shelters, and signs of hyper/hypo thermia. 3 Days without water. Ill go down early and build a solar distillation still, set up some solar distraction bottles, bags on trees, etc. We'll cover several methods of gathering water, purifying water, how much we need, the efeects of not having enough, and keeping water. I'll also bring bleach, tablets, and a MSR water filter. 3 weeks with out food. Ill try to get set some traps/snares out and set the Friday night. If we actually catch something, maybe a skinning/cooking lesson? Either way, we can discuss trapping methods, edible plants, testing for a poisonous plant, insects, maybe even tanning hides or smoking in a expedient field made smoker. I also have some facts about the effects of starvation. I'm going to bring my forge and a few horseshoes, railroad spikes, and files if anyone would like to smith a primitive knife while we're out here. I can pass along all the info I have on annealing, hardening, tempering, carbon content, etc. that I have learned making a few hundred knives ov the last few years. That's what I can do personally. If there's something you'd like to learn specifically, PM me. I'll get a list of stuff people want to know and if no one is attending that can teach it, I'll look into myself and maybe we can learn more about it together, there. I have a couple people that have let me know what they have to offer the group. If there is something you are educated in, we'd find beneficial, and are willing to talk a little about it. Let me know and we'll post it in whats offered. Still looking at June 1-2 We can camp every night. We can also try to do this is one action packed day if need be to free up more schedules!

I know it looks like I'm slacking on this, but my internet won't work long enough to reply! I'm on my phone, but was hoping to use my IPad to show a satellite image of the location so we all know what to look for as in what can be taught. I'll do what I can from my phone! Gah, first world problems.... Lol Good ideas adding it to the events section, I don't know why I didn't think of that.

You better watch out... The AAULMAVAGP sound like a bad bunch of women!

deer antlers for knife handles
bigbabysweets replied to 221 Fireball's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I know a guy that buys and sells antlers by the truckload. I also had someone ask me where they could find some antler at a good price on Facebook. I passed my friend's number along, but I don't know what they feel is a "good" price. If you'd like I could pass some info of yours along. I believe they lived in the Kodak area..... There may be some shipping involved.... -
They should remake this!

Laser Tattoo Removal? Anyone Ever Have It Done?
bigbabysweets replied to xRUSTYx's topic in General Chat
I am really digging the thread. I had wondered what it's like as well, but no one really seems to go in depth about the process! Glad to see it working, it's an amazing thing. I talked to a Navy vet that said he removed his anchor that was on his forearm with mounds of bacon fat... -

Awesome! I'm glad to see you're staying pretty upbeat!

What's your impression of this shirt?
bigbabysweets replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
I like it. If the guy had a bigger beard I'd buy one... I like the reversed/polarized look of it... I think the font could have been better to fit the style of the graphic.... -
Somone was selling a metal one on a Facebook yards ale site.... If you still want another one.....

You'd have to have the dremel in a vise, with a very fine grit drum, and a hell of a steady hand..... I wouldn't attempt it with anything I wanted to look nice or keep....

I don't see why anyone would want to go with 4 people total, even if I got to pick the other 3.

So one in 20 people were doing it right? I wouldn't classify this as a combat zone just because a person was killed with a bomb. I think it comes down to the targets. I feel that in some instances they took their power too far. I don't feel that the guy was afraid of the cameraman behind a closed window, that's why no one else is looking his way. If he had thought that he was in danger, wouldn't he announce it to everyone else? He was just being a tool and pointing a gun a guy in the window because he could, and there's some slim argument of, "How'd I know what he was doing?" I think there should be difference between patrolling Afghanistan where more than 1 in 300 million might shoot at you and Boston. I just don't think he was acting professionally. Unless it comes down to accounts of people shooting from closed windows, they shouldn't be pointing into closed windows. It might sound like a small difference, but when do we draw the line? I mean, technically, isn't there always a chance they could be shot from a window? I think if the people like this keep doing stupid things like this, it will raise tensions, and will cause people of the U.S. to shoot from their windows. -
It was last call, and i was bringing something home.

difference between a knife and a sword ?
bigbabysweets replied to a topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Yeah, usually it comes down to those in charge. I was told to leave Walmart once for wearing a 4" knife on my hip because I looked "scary." I had people tell me that Walmarts in FL see alligator hunters with machetes on their sides. It seems it comes down to how it, or you, make people feel. Maybe it's just the styling technically. I mean I've seen machetes that were about 2ft, but its that a Gladius' length as well? -
I keep trying to get those close to me in on it. They just joke and say, " I'll just come to your house!" After hearing this about a million times I finally just give in and endure the awkward silence after I tell them how what I have is for my family and the only thing Ill give them is the warning to be prepared, which I just did.... I get angry looks when I tell my wife her sisters will starve before I take the slightest amount away from us. If they wanna drink, smoke, splurge, party and not care... Ill have no remorse should I be right. It's the classic tale of the ant and the grasshopper. They better hope the jokes on me......

My point. So a terrorist killed an unsuspecting cop/person, that's pretty much how they work. Should runners start running with guns in hand, aiming at spectators? But when has a terrorist killed a suspecting soldier in an armored car? Terrorist of all faiths and devices go after the weak and those not able to defend themselves. Like all predators, they choose prey of the least resistance. If a cop had pointed a gun at civilians approaching their car in the area right after, I wouldn't be nearly as geared up. If they come on my street and point a gun at me in my home, that's what I have a deal with. Look back at the picture, no other people look nearly as worried, it obviously wasn't as intense as he was making it out to be. He even has his helmet off and hat turned backward. Nothing says I'm afraid for my life like taking off the protection you were given to save it and wearing your hat backwards... -

I think it really comes down to common sense in most cases. I doubt, "oh that's my 2ft knife." Would go over well. If you have to ask yourself if it would be considered a sword, its probably a sword..... Lol -

The military is routinely hit from windows and hillsides over there. That is a huge difference and a reason only found there. Can anyone name a time a shot was taken at an armored Humvee on the streets in America? Especially in suburbia? Also, notice the posture of everyone else? I see there guns aren't pointed at people. It's a scary game to play, if they act like this is an Afghan country, certain people may respond as the Afghan people do at times. The gun may have been posted first, lending the reason for the man to get the camera. -
I Timestepper, you wanted to make the last one! I was looking at June 1-2 for the date. I hope you're able to come, I've been keeping up with your progress via the other thread..... I was hoping you could have made the last one. I was looking forward to cowboy songs around the campfire! Lol CM1021- Awesome, that's what I'm most interested in. I think I'd be useful a little more commonly that a SHTF event. I wanna know a little just in case an accident should happen to my family. I have the utmost respect for emergency personnel, but I wanna know I did the most I could, and maybe make their job easier... EVERYONE- if this takes off we could offer a small fee, or have everyone bring a little something, and get the most out of this! If everyone brought some stuff they would teach, or chip in on some .22 ( give up some they've been hoarding), brought gauze etc for the first aid course.... You know, make sure no one is really out anymore than anyone else and everything equally benefits!

There should be something done about the guy pointing rifles at windows. I'd be beyond pissed, and probably have a thread about me, if that was my daughter looking out the window and having it pointed at her. If your clam is so large you have to ride with your gun raised towards civililians, you should have stayed on your Xbox and kept playing Black Ops 2. -
This always reminds me of "the Outlaws Prayer" by Johnny Paycheck. It's a nice slow, really spoken, song. Talks about hypocrisy in churches... Some of the very practices in Catholicism goes against scripture...
