  1. It's WAY more than I want to spend, but I have been in a group where several questions were asked. It gets some conversations started for sure! You see some things about people's thought process quick. I just looked a few questions up online, just to give people examples about the game. I think you can download a version for your smart phone for like 4.99 too.
  2. Will do, he's probably due soon.
  3. There's a guy that comes to the shop and makes one out of a rail road spike every couple months! I like the historical aspect of it.
  4. Have you guys looked at the C.E.R.T. classes in your areas? They are run by FEMA which worries me a bit, but might have some good info, especially in the higher classes....
  5. I made TONS of these little things. I've lost 3 of them to friends thinking they were just trash and tossing them into a fire. I bought a big circle cutting bit that just knocks out that big divot in the bottom, saves time and cuts! I also polish the other divot because I heard you can start a fire with it if it's polished and sunny enough. I also found that some cans' divots are slightly larger than others.
  6. Training and practice. No matter what you get, you need to know how to use it and not wonder when the time comes. I'm looking into CERT classes in my area along with pistol and rifle training. No matter what you have stored, if you can't defend it, you're just holding it for someone else. I'm trying to talk my wife into a mid sized dog......
  7. Just a heads up, there are some free classes in Dandridge every Saturday. The classes are hosted at Fort Hope in Dandridge by a couple knowledgeable people and cover several topics. The first Saturday the B.O.B. was discussed. Last Saturday we talked about bugging in. This next Saturday we'll be talking about fire making methods. Eventually they'll get to water, shelters, and eventually possibly weapons. The said they were planning on having a CPR AED certification class there as well as a HAM license class/test. It's supposed to be a 8 week course... Just passing it on. You can find the group on Meetup.com under Eastern Tennessee Preppers...

  8. I wanted to get into it, just couldn't get motivated to knock on doors and ask permission. No one I actually know owns land worth checking. I bought a Fisher F2 to check fields for CW relics.. I might get around to it one day...
  9. Bwahaha That's awesome! At least he knows you'd man up and risk a whipping just to help him out! Maybe next time he will buy you a $100 knife!
  10. No lie, you should/could probably make some money on this!
  11. I was laughing so hard at that first deer leg picture! I was like, " what is that, a deer leg?" Sure enough, it was... Lol Knife looks good! I'd keep a copy of that deer leg close by for the before/after reveal!
  12. These things are awesome! I have a couple. Once I found out their usefulness, I never leave civilization without one! And I don't mind at all about the pic brother!
  13. Well then they need to protection! Lol
