If I remember correctly, firearms, including handguns can be shipped within the state, just like it was a face to face - NO licensing agent required. They must be shipped by common carrier, NOT USPS -
Any more specific area that "eastern TN' - might help you zero in on local ranges/clubs. Welcome.............

Worth the wait. Inbound transfers (purchases) save you whatever your FFL was charging plus the NIC. Outbound (sales), no real savings. Mine took under four weeks.

If it's a set to go to the ATF regarding an NFA purchase, the Class 3 transfer dealer will often do it.

The mailing came about four weeks after the license arrived.
