  1. That's a chupacabra, definitely not a cougar, you can tell by the toes.
  2. Haffner is going to be really close for you and also does day passes now I believe.
  3. Alright think I have scoured all my options and am tentatively looking at a ruger american hunter in 308 to serve as my entry in bolt actions and longish (500-600) range shooting but wanted to see if there was anything else I wasn't considering. Search Criteria -308 Bolt Action (Don't think the price premium on 6.5CM would be worth it for my ranges) -Threaded muzzle for suppressor usage -Box magazines -~$800ish -Shortish overall length Looked at the other options in the Ruger line as well as some savages but wondering if there was anything else out there? I know the Bergara rifles are supposed to be great, but already above my budget and would have to get it threaded.
  4. the K models from Holosun typically have the circle dot, the 509 and the 508T (I think) being the exception as they only offer circle/dot I think. Agree with repetition you can get the dot to be visible on the initial presentation without any fuss. The front sight trick works as well. I have found that focusing on the target and not thinking about the dot tends to get the dot in the right spot fairly easily.
  5. Do you have another one? Take it to a Fastenal store and they will likely be able to hook you up
  6. a 20" rifle length upper would look awesome on that lower.
  7. Think of it like a G48 with more capacity. Thin, high capacity, optics ready, comped, and different feel (ergos, trigger) than other comparable guns
  8. even worse news. I got real excited when I saw the email and thought about a 17rd comped 365 that was optic ready.
  9. I think it's larger than the 365, pretty much XL size
  10. If you are going to pony up for a suppressor or you already have a suppressor that can handle 300BO that is my suggestion. If you are only going to shoot supersonics I wouldn't bother with 300BO. If you are primarily shooting indoors at 25y I would honestly just stick with 5.56, not worth the ammo cost to punch a different size hole in the paper.
  11. correct transfer it in as a firearm. There is a thread somewhere in here about pistol to rifle or rifle to pistol. The old saying used to be once a rifle always a rifle. As for buffers you can use a standard carbine buffer tube unless you are looking at some of the specialized collapsible braces that use a proprietary buffer system. Braces the SBA3 and SBA4 are probably the most commonly used, I've run a bunch of the SBA3s and have never felt the need to change. Some other component suggestions Triggers - Larue is your best bang for the buck. under $100 gets you a fantastic trigger, you can spend 2x and get a Geissele but from what I have shot you aren't going to get 2x the performance. Under that there are plenty of polished mil-spec triggers out there, I think the ALG ACT is a pretty common choice but the price is close enough to the Larue that I would just start there Charging Handle - Radian Raptor series all day, pick if you want the polymer tabs or aluminum and go from there. Aero Breach series is nice too just have more experience with the Radian. Safety Selector - Radian Talon ambi setup is a solid option Bolt Catch - the Geissele maritime bolt catch is a solid upgrade for ~$25 They make a matching mag release as well if you want to get real matchy on your build.
  12. you don't see many offset mounts for the RMS-C footprint optics. Typically use RMR or DPP footprints for rifle backups. Might have some luck with a footprint adapter that would allow you to use an RMR offset mount but would be another component to potentially fail if you're looking for something super stable.
  13. how does 300 BLK do against hogs under 100 yards? Looking to go back to TX this fall for some pigs and was planning on running my 10.5" 300 gun but if I HAD to build an AR10 I guess I could make that work as well.

I have a hard time getting my head around getting a new gun in a NATO cartridge with ammo available everywhere and here comes Rob getting guns I have never heard of rechambered in a caliber I have never heard of.

had a TPSFX a while back and it was a dream to shoot just didn't really fill any holes in my collection so let it go. I wouldn't hesitate to pick up one of the new models. I know mags have been tough to come by lately for them.
  16. Apparently they are deemed an AOW. https://www.smallarmsreview.com/display.article.cfm?idarticles=3739
  17. I am going to second the benchmade bugout as a good lightweight option. It disappears in my pocket and is one of my go to options in the summer. If you want something a little larger I would look at the spyderco para lightweight as a good option.
  18. Can't second the chair logic here any harder. When I first started WFH I am ashamed to admit how long I worked on a folding table using an extra dining room chair. My back kept hurting and eventually pulled the trigger on a decent steelcase chair and I have never regretted a single dollar of that expense.
  19. I've got this one. https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-C325W-1920R-32-Inch-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B01LY5MTNN/ref=asc_df_B01LY5MTNN/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312727440900&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2608354982090377108&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9013147&hvtargid=pla-493787463335&psc=1
  20. if you're asking for height I assume you are doing a decent amount of document work. I have worked with a lot of folks who have their monitor on a mount that allows it to be flipped 90 degrees and they have all the height they need. I have a cheapo sceptre 32" curved monitor at my home setup and it's not a bad setup, not a fancy gaming monitor but works for a home office setup
  21. Just started canning this year, so far have knocked out about 30 jars. Got another 14 jars worth of green beans to get done in the next few days
  22. I would suggest CATs as well based on everything I have seen those and SOF-Ts seem to be the choices and looking at "Pros" the CAT seems to be the standard. I would also advise against Amazon for you purchase, a ton of fakes out there. Dark Angel Medical has treated me right in the past. Here is one list I found for the TCCC approved tourniquets. https://www.offgridweb.com/preparation/cotccc-has-expanded-its-recommended-tourniquet-list-for-2019/
  23. Whatever you decide with do not purchase your CATs from Amazon, they have been riddled with fakes. I suggest Dark Angel Medical for your kit components.
  24. Those duluth bibs are standard canvas material and would be as quiet as carhartts or even jeans
  25. I think TVA Undeveloped land is accessible for hunting as well: https://www.tva.com/environment/environmental-stewardship/land-management/rules-for-use-of-tva-public-lands Map https://tva.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Embed/index.html?webmap=b110b866ffec492cb95e5c62b1a4f40f&extent=-88.891,33.5017,-82.0685,37.389&home=true&zoom=true&scale=true&search=true&searchextent=true&legend=true&show_panel=true&basemap_gallery=true&disable_scroll=false&theme=light
