Republican Congressman Warns of Obama Dictatorship
DavidD replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Once the people of the United States realize that they could vote themselves more money from the public trough, this great democracy would be in peril-ALEXIS de TOCQUEVILLE -
Disappointing to say the least. Just goes to show that when one owns the lions share of the market, competitiveness isn't all that important. Glock is starting to remind me of the American Car companies of the 70's.

Boy I hope they are wrong.

Yes, my wife says the same thing. I remind her that my guns will ALWAYS be worth more than her Purses if the need to sell ever arose.

Congrats Mudbugjr, welcome to the dark side. I didn't have any problems with the ammo functioning but it was very dirty and left little red flakes all over the face of the bolt. The next grade up of Monarch has brass cases and seemed to burn a little cleaner in my opinion and it's only a couple bucks more.

Damn, that does look like fun. Congrats Deerslayer! Any competitions for fat 41 year old beginners?

Like others, I field strip and clean/lube after every range session except for my .22 TC rifle. I detail strip and clean rarely. I do the same for my carry piece (USP 40 compact) every couple of months or so to clean out the dust bunnies and lint . I do have a cleaning question though. I have always cleaned barrels in the following manner. 1. Field strip to remove barrel from from slide & frame if possible. 2. I used to use spray bore cleaner but now use the CLP Foaming Bore Cleaner to fill barrel with foam and let it soak for 5 minutes or so. 3. Run a a brass brush through the barrel by entering through the breach and exiting completely out the muzzle, then back out the breach so as not to change directions in the barrel. I repeat this several times. 4. Then I apply CLP to patches and run them through several times followed by dry patches until clean. I recently read in a Bushmaster manual that the cleaning rod should only be entered through the muzzle without the brush, then the brass brush should be screwed on the rod after it exits the breach and pulled through in the normal direction of a bullet only. Anyone ever heard of this before?

Thanks but it doesn't sound like you had to settle too bad

Does this mean I'm dangerous??

Thanks All. Sorry man, we left around 1:00. Put 100 rounds through it. I was shooting the cheapest russian $5 per box .223 ammo you can buy at Acedemy (Note to self, you get what you pay for). Right on! I figured since he was elected, why work?

After my buddy Jim got his Bushmaster from Phillip at Goodlettsville Gunshop a month or so ago, I have been going nuts wanting one myself. Because of the slight savings and sheer fun of it, I decided I was going to build it from a stripped lower up. So I saved my money and on Wednesday, depressed from the Obamanation, convinced my buddy to take the day off and make a trip to Winchester and see Joe at Hero Gear. Well, once I got there and met Joe in person (I had been there before and bought a S&W 1911 from Dan) I told him my plan. He showed me a stripped lower and began the education. About 30 minutes into it, covering all of the various components and options, Joe shows me a completed CMMG lower (had never heard of them but what do I know) and offers it to me for what I believe is one heck of a deal. I reminded Joe of my plan to build it for the fun factor and he convinces me that for this price, I should just take the damn thing apart and reassemble it. Anyway, on to upper parts. I told him that I really had been eyeing the YHM (Yankee Hill) barrels and fore-grips, wanted a flat top with flip up sights. Lo and behold, he produces a fully assembled upper, YHM model 7100, the exact one I had picked out on YHM's website, diamond barrel and all. So I'm thinking, rather than having to wait, I could essentially have a working AR right now. After Joe quoted me the final price, I was convinced. Now my buddy that came with me had been eyeing a DPMS 6.8 SPC the whole time. Dan and Joe did a little enticing and Jim decided he too would take advantage of a "Hero Deal." We left smiling and headed to buy some of the $1.93/gallon gas and headed back to Nashville. Thanks Joe! We're headed to the Stones River Range after lunch today.

I do not have experience with the Tracker, but my buddy has the Large Frame 44 with 4" ported barrel. The quality is good in my opinion but it definitely kicks like a freaking mule. The day after his first trip to the range in which he put 50 rounds through it, his hand was a little sore to say the least. I kind of like the looks of the Tracker myself. Though it is no S&W, Taurus makes a fine gun in my opinion, well worth the money.

Well said! And that my friends is where it will start along with the AW ban as previuosly mentioned.

Say it isn't so! Surely he won't remain as Speaker . What can we do? -

I am pumped! I saw the Obama win coming but this one blind sided me. I will be emailing my rep Susan Lynn first thing today to congratulate her on the win AND ask her to make the Restaurant Carry bill a priority. Bye Bye Naifeh:taunt: -
Great story and thanks once again for sharing. Awesome that you actually have your first gun back and it makes it even better with the story. I also really liked the part about the Store Clerk asking if you had permision from your dad. Ahh the good ole days when a mans word (or boys in this case) really meant something. It is however a good thing in my opinion that todays 13 year olds cannot buy guns .

Good luck!

Is the Obama-Biden definition of "rich"
DavidD replied to BrasilNuts's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
87.3% of Americans are rich, compared to the rest of the world, and that is only when you use the "American poverty level." to define poor. I'd surmise the percentage is much higher if you were to use a Global poverty level. -
Perfect Tungsten! A good friend of my daughter who is from a middle class, Christian conservative family told me that if he could vote, he'd vote for Obama because he "wanted to see history made in his lifetime". I almost smacked him. I am going to pass your recommendation on to his dad, a McCain supporter, next time I see him.

The wife and I got to the Mt. Juliet Community Center at 9:08 AM Tuesday morning. I was going into work late after the Titans Game on Monday evening so we figured we would get in and out. NOT. it was 10:05 when we left the building. I wondered if the wait would be as long on the 4th. My regular voting place is Gladeville elementary and If I remember correctly, the polls open at 7:00 am. We decided to go ahead and I am glad it is over. I feel your pain eye but hang in there. On another note, after being in line for around 50 minutes, I man come in in a wheel chair and proceeded straight to the voting area without waiting in line. Now I don't know his story but saw and elderly woman in a wheel chair earlier about 30 or so people in front of us. She was waiting just like the rest of us. He's in a wheel chair for Gods sake so why couldn't he wait? Other than the color of his skin, he was no different than the old lady. Afterwards, one of the poll workers walked a guy in mid mid 50's with an awful limp and a cane by to vote. He had already been waiting around a half hour or so to my best recollection, standing the whole time. This guy should have been able to go straight to the front but instead made the attempt to wait like the rest of us, until the poll worker talked him into moving on through. It was painfully obvious we was floundering fast.

It's cable channel 270 for Comcast out in our part of the woods.

Be careful of voting machine problems
DavidD replied to fizik's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I early voted today and did not press the "review your votes" as I did so before proceeding. Thanks for passing it along though. Only wish I'd seen this thread before I went and voted then I could have tested it.
