  1. I have a pair of these though I paid around $20 plus tax at Bas Pro this past spring. They work fine and are well worth $20. I do prefer my Remington ones from Wally World ($50 or so) as they seem to muffle larger calibers better but they have batteries and volume controls on each ear which is kinda of a pain.
  2. As Bryan pointed out, he is from Mich. and is supposed to represent and fight for Mich.'s best interest, right or wrong. Now in my opinion, it is in their best interest to let the big 3 restructure under chapter 11 and deal a big blow to the UAW, but what do I know?
  3. Academy also sells the green box which is a little better and has brass cases for $9.99 per box if you like. I also run the cheap stuff as well.
  4. I'm with Astra, stick with well known brands of ammo. After all, you may have to trust them for your life one day. Also, buy plenty of extra to put through your guns at the range.
  5. Great deals! What's the name of the pawn shop in TN? Do you buy/pick out the weapons in Ga and then pick them up in TN?
  6. Boy that is one gorgeous 1911!

    Funny commercial

Now why can't they have commercials like that around here?
  8. My buddy was told the same thing when he renewed his.

    Like Rogue Ale?

Never heard of Trader Joes OR Dead Guy. I must be too old

    1911, why?

Ahh that's what they are for, I always wondered.

    1911, why?

Boatman says: "Is it any wonder that soldiers fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq have been known to hurl their Berettas at the enemy and trade cold hard cash and all the fruitcakes and love letters from home for 1911s at every opportunity?" which as far as I know, hasn't happened very often, if ever.
  12. Holy crap, erh should I say Hairy Crap, that was funny as hell.

    1911, why?

Well said , especially the "if you have not shot a 1911 you are missing out on a great shooting pistol" part.

    1911, why?

It is as you've stated, personal choice. Anyone who will try to make the argument that one is truly better than the other is either ignorant or just plain stubborn, IN MY OPINION of course. I do not own an XD however I do own a full size 1911. I absolutely love the feel of it, both in the hand and while shooting as well as it's accuracy. I do not carry it except on rare occasions. That's what I bought my USPc .40 for. I would say that if I were in a "SHTF" situation and saw both a 1911 and a XD 45 on the ground and could only pick up one, I'd personally reach for the XD first if for no other reason than capacity.
  15. Could there be any better example of why not to Purse Carry .

    KIMBER Question

I've seen Pro Carry II's as low as $800 new. I'd say if it looks new and is in good shape, it is in fact a pretty good deal. I would highly recomend shooting it if possible before you buy it.
  17. I'm feeling your pain brother! It amazes me that the responsible majority are like us but just too afraid to go against the bailout either for political reasons (afraid of loosing votes) or for our own selfish financial reasons (want the economy fixed so we won't suffer). I keep using the old saying "Pay me now or pay me later." Unfortunately, the pay me later will inevitably cost much much more.
  18. Good way to look at it. Let the "system" take care of them.
  19. Sooooooo, would that be the lessor of 5 evils?
  20. Thanks Sling, that makes perfect sense. As far as the OP, if you got it, spend it! I'd say it sounds like a better investment than the golf ball launcher I was looking at the other night.
  21. Ok I'll bite, other than sounding like a worn out truck spring when firing, what is wrong with them?
  22. Being a newbe to the AR world, what exactly is supposed to be the design flaw?

    My first AR

Yeah, I keep threatening that one day I will catch up with her. Truth be known among us guys, I'm probably getting close now .
