  1. If you are after most accurate. This is what you want (if you can find it).
  2. It's all very similar and fine for shooting steel, plinking out to maybe 300 yards.    Beyond that, the best surplus is the Russian match stuff made in the 70's. It's brass case and 182g boat tail. That's the best I've found w/ the exception of handloading.
  3.   We were the opposite then. My son and I were on #8 lane 1&2. He took 4th F/TR overall and missed the 3rd place spot by basically one shot. Arrgghh. Wind changed and he shot 8 instead 10 the shot before. Was a fun day.
  4.   What lane/relay were you on?
  5.   Southwest Ammo will precision reload rifle rounds. They make a pretty nice product for people that don't want to hand load but need a match grade round.
  6. There are a few people who's reloads (or more accurately handloads) I would not hesitate to use.   Those would be the exceptions.
  7. Utilize pretty much any amp in clean mode and use one of these. Trust me on this. A Fender Twin Reverb would be a great choice.   Gristle King:   http://gregkoch.com/wordpress/?page_id=27
  8.   I think there are far worse places actually in the midwest. Let's start w/ Gary, Detroit etc.
  9. I always do when up there.
  10.   2-10 in Cottontown is going to be expensive. If I were him, I'd look somewhere towards Bethpage or Castalian Springs.    Yes, Hartsville is strange (no offense). If you were not born there, buying property there is an interesting experience.
  11. To give you an idea, here is what a steel target (close to silhouette size) looks like at roughly 1,000 through the spotting scope and then without.   Target is at end of clearing just as grass gets tall.    http://i1338.photobucket.com/albums/o685/Milsurpfan/IMG_1514_zps24eba567.jpg   http://i1338.photobucket.com/albums/o685/Milsurpfan/SwissK311050yards_zpsff2ea897.jpg
  12. You have to do it when the angle of the sun is just right w/ iron sights. I did this before w/ a K31 and could not even see the target in the AM. So I put the gun away and we shot a 10BA most of the day. Only when the sun was behind us, could I see the target.   Even then, it was a PITA shot.
  13.   Accurate, probably could be. Long distance and accurate, no.
  14. If he did, there was a whole lot of luck involved. A 3 MOA Mosin at 100 does not mean it's 3 MOA at 900-1,000.   Put it this way, I shot a Swiss K31 (much more accurate rifle) at 1,050 yards with iron sights last year using GP11. I know how many shots it took me and it was not 2!  :)
  15. I like crazy things but that looks insane.
  16. Too many!    Classic Musclecars and drag racing.  Anything old with 4 wheels Guitars/guitar playing Cooking Beer Kids are into (which means I am) RC planes, model rockets
  17.   Got 6 today same way. I hate the way the hover and tempt you.
  18. I bought my RWS 30 years ago and it shoots as good now as it did then. We shoot a lot of pellets in the back yard!   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gHzysEW3tk
  19.   Actually 2014.

    30-06 or 308?

A .308 will serve you just fine out to 1,000 if you find the right load and more importantly use the right bullet.
  21. Yes its $90 now.
  22. I use hot water and never need more than 1 hr to tumble. I rinse in clean water and I blow them out w/ compressed air when done.
  23. Cabela's honored a .22 order I had for months at pretty much at the old prices.
  24. Looks like N Korea fired a rocket close to one just days before.   http://edition.cnn.com/2014/03/05/world/asia/north-korea-missiles/
