  1. What I have digested and my $.02 on this thread: I may not be a gun expert to the degree of some on here but I do know business and personally sell $15M worth of product a year. When I’m asked about my competition my typical response is, “they are a formidable competitor, let me tell you what my company can do for youâ€. I not pointing fingers at anyone, just stating what I think is responsible protocol for any business. I may be stepping out of bounds here but since someone already did, I feel compelled to comment. Retired Navy GMC is a good friend and I also know the details of time of employment he spent at G&L. The only thing I could add to his summary was, the timing (although fortunate for him) was just really bad for G&L. I knew that’s how it would be perceived after the fact. I can assure you, he was just wanted a job and his long-term plans seemed light years away at the time. I’m not faulting G&L at all; most business owners would do the same thing in the same situation. Just pointing out for the record, it was not his intention to undermine G&L. Lastly, I have spent my hard earned money at G&L, Academy, Outpost, Gander, Bass Pro, Goodlettsville Gun Shop etc. In the current state of things and people’s mindset, I think there will be more than enough business to go around.
  2. I hear they have a gold plated AR-15 complete w/ bling!
  3. I used to have to calculate TLV's of Lead exposure when I worked in a lab. I'm only shooting .22 here and there. I can gurantee you it's minimal exposure compared to a real range and other more hazardous situations I can think of.
  4. Hypothetically, if I could, probably a few times a week in my basement!
  5. Not often I see reference to "Spinal Tap" on here!
  6. Ditto. Did it once and will not do it again. I clean the bore and wash the chamber w/ a Q-tip and CLP. Probably have 4,000 rounds through it without a problem so far.
  7. Is the new G&L store still opening in H'ville? I drove by the other day and the old furniture store looks like nothing has changed?
  8. That's what I have done my entire career. Some don't like it but I get the job done at the end of the day.
  9. Starting w/ Miller High Life and see where I go from there.
  10. I had some try and break into my house at 3:00AM (where I used to live) in the window right above my bed. I heard the noise and opened the blind and saw the dude face to face. Talk about waking up fast!
  11. (Did) Metal beaver that was a shoe brush. Imagine yourself at X-mas. When I opened the box I had no idea what it was. Long story. It stayed with the house.
  12. Pressured washed house on a ladder (while my 82 year old Dad held) in the sun for hours. Man I'm wiped! We had pork chops and beers afterwards. Yum!
  13. Gin & Tonic again. Mmm, mmm, mmm.
  14. Mine is a fully restored from James River. They also restore a very nice M1 Garand.
  15. So how does this effect a TN resident wanting to "transport" a gun through Chicago?
  16. I Windex mine, patch, brush the crap out of it and another 20 patches later and it's clean!
  17. 1/4 mile. Maybe 1/3 mile tops!
  18. Another end of spectrum and personal fav!
  19. Greg was my guitar teacher! He played w/ Gatton one night back in Milwaukee and I got to see Gatton shortly before he offed himself. What a shame....................
  20. OK, a few various styles: Eric Johnson Jimmy Herring Greg Koch (solo starts @ 5:00) Danny Gatton (tiny club in DC, early 70's) * Forgot to add that most "Big" name players say Gatton was the best, most underated and unknown. He could play any style. He killed himself in the early 90's.
  21. Seriously though, let’s get back the prostitutes soliciting at the door!
