You left out good food and beverage. Pretty sure the guys there never saw someone shoot clays w/ a Saiga shotgun!

My $.02. I honestly think the rifle is more important than optics when you are talking about .22LR at this distance. That is, assuming you can see the target, know it's zeroed properly and know your MOA drop. This rifle shoots sub MOA, has done a best of .900" groups at 100 and .450" at 50 yards. You multiply that out at 330 yards, a 2-3 MOA rifle will have a hard time at that distance. Put it this way, I know we would not have hit the target (or been hard pressed to) with my Marlin 60.

Thanks. The cylinder was not even in the scope on the POA, just the cover on top. Scope has 4 mil dots up, we were at bottom of scope, roughly 10-12 mil dots if it had that many. There is a guy over on THR by the name "Clayne" that shoots out to 500 often with a .22 LR. If I recall, he said his POA was the mountain top behind the steel targets.

Yep, was nice. Only shooters there!

My 13 year old son and I did some shooting at 330 yards with a .22. Some of the most fun I have had shooting. Kind of like shooting larger caliber at longer distances. What I did not expect was being able to hear the ping at that distance w/ a .22. Drop was 144" using CCI Blazer. [media=]

Ditto on plugs under muffs. I've tried a couple of the electronic type and none were as quiet as standard Peltors.

I cannot be more pleased with my two recent Savage purchases. One a TRR-SR .22LR and the other a .308 10BA both from D&T. Both have totally exceeded my expectations on accuracy. Both are out of the box guns. To date, the .22 has shot a best of 1 hole cloverleaf using Eley at 50 yards. A sub MOA .900" at 100 yards using Blazer. The BA shoots .5 MOA or better at 400. Has done a best 5 round group of 2" at 400 yards and 3 round of 1.5" at 400 yards. Both are amazing guns.

As posted above, CCI quiet in a AR w/ a .22 conversion is real quiet. More so than in a bolt or semi-auto .22.

Now that's funny!

Well that technology should be fun for them on the 4th of July!

I'm no expert by any means, just sharing what I've personally tried and also read up on. Seems 168g is ideal out to 600 yards. My son and I have had REALLY good results using 168g out to 400 yards. The 168g has been way more accurate compared to using 147-150g at 400 yards. Everything I have read and people I have shot with concured with that. However, they say past 600 yards, 175g is what is needed. Bought some 175g and hopefully will get to try that soon. To date I have been using Black Hills which appears to be amazing off the shelf ammo. Going to try some Hornaday Amax soon and compare.

I use my kids airsoft on creatures with many legs.

Ditto on above. On that Budget a Savage Axis. With a decent enough cheap scope and bipod, you could probably spend a total of $500-550 (roughly) and be able to shoot out to 300 pretty accurately. Farther than that and you are going to need a better scope.

Is A Race War Being Censored To Avoid White Backlash?

Did not hear that story. -
No, that would be nice too! It's a .308. My 13 year old son shoots this and when I considered having him shoot some matches, both the price per round and shoulder beating, I pretty much settled on the .308. I was using Black Hills 168g which gets costly enough after a few hours. Forgot to add pic of rifle.

Range report on Savage 10BA from D&T Arms: To say this rifle exceeded my expectations is an understatement! I have been reading up on the performance of this rifle for the last year or so and from what I read, I wanted one. I picked up the rifle from Dave at D&T a few weeks ago and only have shot it a total of 3 times. However, the 3rd time was a charm. Last weekend my 13 year old son (who is a very good shot) but never shot this rifle before, 1st time out managed a less than 4†group at 400 yards in a 14+ MPH cross wind. I was not real happy w/ the scope placement and made a few adjustments before the next time out. He was happy! This morning the wind cooperated and I thought it would be a good time to dial this thing in. Made a few fouling shots and adjusted for windage since last time out. Put a fresh target up and here were my last 5 shots using 168g Black Hills ammo. This is an 11" target. The group measured 2.25†at widest point. All 5 shots were in the 10 ring. Pretty close to being a .5 MOA gun at 400 yards with out of the box ammo. I’m not a trained shooter by any means (just like to shoot and a little OCD). This gun totally exceeded my expectations. Look forward to doing some 600 and farther shots. As long as I’m gloating, decided to try my ’43 Winchester M1 Garand at 400 yards. Never shot that far w/ iron sights. Thanks to the range officer who was there and called some splashes so I could get it on target after some elevation adjustments. Made 8 hits on a silhouette w/ HXP 63 surplus ammo at 400 yards. Overall, had pretty darn fun day!

Ditto. Been there many times. Pull onto the pad, weigh and weigh on the way out. They take just about anything. -
Last I heard, might not happen. There is some property for sale that borders and sounded like it was on hold.

Ditto. CHMR is 25-100Y only.
