Better to carry a 380 that you will carry verses having a 1911 you leave at home.

The Walther PK380 is a nice gun. Shoots well, quick sight acquisition and very easy to rack the slide even for females. I like the safety on the gun. Mine fits in the same holster as my Walther PPS.

Just picked up a nice used S&W 386PD and a new S&W 686-6. Both are 7 shot magniums, but the 386PD is the AirWeight and feels like it is 1/3 wt of the 686. I had thought about .38sp 158gr JHP or some type of 38+p. Any experience or thoughts. I am guessing the 357 mag ammo would be brutal on the 386PD.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience or comments on the MS380 which is suppose to a clone of the Beretta 84 380. I think it is made in Turkey.

I have the PK380 and the PPS both are excellent guns. Both feeds whatever I throw at them.

I already had the GSG before the Sig's came out. I started to replace my GSG with the Sig unitil I compared the guns they are one in the same with the exception of the name. Check both out in a side by side comparision you will see what I mean.

I have the GSG 1911-22 and it is nice. I don't like the Chiappa at all. I am thinking about the Colt 1911-22 also.

Any personal reviews on this gun yet. I did get a change to look at one at the gun shop it seemed pretty nice in fit and finish. Made by Carl Walther and imported by Umarex for Colt.

Any comments or reviews on the GSG 1911-22.

As far as the GSG I think it has a good fit and feel just like the .45 1911's. The trigger on the gun is very smooth for a $350 gun. The one I got has the Flaux suppressor and tactical rail. I let a friend borrow it and him and some buddies took it out and shot it and they liked it a lot. He has the Sig Mosquito and it works great for him. The only complaint was the trigger pull, but he was mainly a rifle guy. I personally own a Sig P239 and 1911 and both guns are great. I have the Buckmark with a Burris sight and it is sweet.

I have the GSG 1911-22 and when I was looking at the new Sig Sauer 1911-22 other than the marking the guns look identical. I am guessing that GSG is making them for Sig. Any ideas?

A friend of mine has a gun he is trying to identify. It is marked on the barrel : Santa Fe Model 1944 Golden State Arms Corp Pasaden, Ca The gun is a bolt action and above what appears to be the serial number is marked England. I think it probably hold 4-5 rounds maybe a .303 cal not sure no marking about caliber. Any info would be appreciated.

Tip Curtis Frontier Shop in Cross Plains, Tn is a great place to get what you need. He has guns in the white. They are already put together but need the wood and the barrels finished. You will not be disappointed. He is great in answering all you questions. He took me in the back and showed me what to do and how to do it. He is reallly great with his customers. I am not real familiar with pellets but in the powders BP more is just more, a lot of times all will not burn. If the 2/60 gr works well for you I think that would be plenty. What I would look at is the type of bullet. You can get bullets that have a different tip for larger game. I know they use a heavier grain bullet with a special tip in Africa for big game animals. I would try that before the gun killing on both ends and your gun may not be able to handle that large of a load.

I think a Henry Lever action Golden Boy is a great .22 rifle, octogan barrel, will shoot, short, long and long rifle ammo. Very accurate and fun to shoot. It is also like going back in time. You'll love it, if you have kids they will love it and your wife will think it looks great.

I would love to see the site give Black Powder it's own thread vs having it with Curio and Relics. Just a thought.

Never heard of that brand before either. Been around BP for a while. 3f is used in both rifle and pistol in .45 cal or less. You may call Dixie Gun Works in Union City, TN they are PB experts and maybe able to give you some additional info. Post a picture on the sight if you can would love it see what it looks like.

Hey, I would get me a catalog from Dixie Gun Works, Union City, TN. You will be able to find them on the internet the catalog is usually on $5 and has a world of info concerning blackpowder guns. The catalog is about 2-3" thick. You won't be disappointed. You will be able to see a lot of there stuff on line but the catalog gives a ton more detail. You will spend hours looking at the products they have to sell and the general reading literature. No I don't work for them.

I have been in the Franklin Gun Shop many times and have to say they generally will ask multiple times if you need help. The closer you get to the counter the more they will ask. I typically view the outer walls and move toward the counters. I have never found any of the staff not to be helpful. I can see someone getting lost in the crowd especially if they were not close to the counter and not willing to push thru the crowd or wait their turn.

My name is Charles and I live in Lewis County. I like both modern and smokepoles, yes the traditional flint and percussion guns. Shooting those guns seems like going back in time and I love the smoke from the black powder. Those guns will make you a better shooter. I love mountain man, Boone, and Crockett era's. My favorite gun is the one I got from Tip Curtis Frontier shop in the white, that I had to finish the stock and barrel. Did it the old way. The wood was a #5 curly maple and I browned the barrel. Even my wife thinks it came out beautiful. I think it is very similar to a southern rife. It's flint and .40 cal. Don't get me wrong I still love my modern stuff - CMMG 223, etc. Love to shoot, just don't get to do it as much as I would like. Remember Keep your powder dry.
