Yet again another awesome idea! While I have NO desire to live any closer to Memphis I would love to learn that skill. I am in Cleveland and I retired from the Navy. During that time I was an Aircraft Mechanic, Non Destructive Inspection Operator, Vibe Analysis Interpreter, Gas Free Engineer, Basic Naval Instructor(9502), SERE Instructor(9505). The last being key here. If anyone would like to learn certain aspects of survival, perhaps I could offer some help/advice. With that said, I taught survival/evasion, not long term homesteading. But I do have some good reference material. I also handload, and have been known to cast a bullet from time to time.

You need to "kill" your current screen name and start using..... Boomhaur "Yeah man, I tell ya what, man. That dang ol' Internet, man. You just go on there and point and click. Talk about W-W-dot-W-com. An' lotsa nekkid chicks on there, man. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. It's real easy, man."

Good idea, that I too would support. Well as long as I dont have to travel the length of the State to support.

Hey Kustom, you wouldnt happen to be the "Kustom" that use to reside on SoCal would you?

If you can make it down to Cleveland I probably could spare a hundred or two to swap.

My three year old loves this song. We were listening to it today while running around town. I just love looking back at him while he is "rocking out" in his car seat. LOL YouTube - Rocket From The Crypt - Break It Up

Mike.357, Thats what I thought, but I read the bottle and sure enough it was imported from Down Under. And as a thread hijack my favorite beer has always been James Boags from Tasmania and until recently wasnt available outside of Tassie, Australia and New Zealand(I emailed them after I got back to the US from Launceston, Tasmania where its brewed). Now all I have to do is find it locally.

Local PD where the money order was mailed?

The wife and I keep a pretty decent supply of CS Shiraz on had, ie several cases. On our most recent supply run the wife picked up a few bottles of Charles Shaw International Shiraz from Australia, It was ok, but we both liked the domestic Shiraz better.

I retired from the Navy in 05 so my opinion wasn’t really asked for but I'll toss it out there anyway. As most know/realize the military is just a cross section of the US. There are gays, crooks, straights, pedophiles, thieves, Christians, Catholics, Muslim, etc, in each branch. The problem I see with open service amongst the "alternative lifestyle" folks is it going to shoved down EVERYONES throat, just what happened after the Tailhook incident. I didn’t and still don’t care who 'you' want to sleep with, I just don’t want to see it or hear about it at work/on duty. However when this changes the over all moral will suffer due to the excess of BS GMT that will have to be attended by that rank and file. Then add to the tension that WILL be brought into the individual units when the "doors are flung open", there will be more incidents.

You sir, are a horrible person!!!!! Don’t you know that the alcohol can and will infest those evil guns and in turn, the guns can and will fire at random on their own and on full auto at the nearest; school, church, playground and or day care center! You should be ASHAMED of yourself and as such, remove the bottle from the table, empty said bottle into a large glass over ice and sit, sip and contemplate your evil deeds.

Thats AWESOME! I am on my way to post that on several Harley boards that I belong to. LOL

I bought the cover not long after I bought the 550B around 89 time frame. I got it mainly due to the fact that I was on active duty and was deploying often. I figured the cover would be better than throwing an old sheet over it while I was gone. LOL

Just AD, the J and R designations were long gone before I joined in 85. But to keep this on topic, here's my bench And I would like to take a minute to talk about lighting. I have three of the desk top type lights. I was at a friends house down in Texas a while back and he had some of those CFL bulbs that produced a very clear, stark, bright light. I bought Ott High Definition Natural Lighting bulbs. Well I put them in the lamps on my bench that the light produced is nothing short of awesome. I bought mine at Lowes for a few bucks a piece.

I have ridden only one V-Rod and while it did seem to ride well, it just wasnt very comfortable. I also would HATE trying wrench on that thing. LOL If it strikes your fancy, go for it.

Smith, I am not, nor have I ever been a recruiter. With that said, may I suggest that your buddy talk to EACH of the services recruiters and have each of them offer up what they have for him. I retired from the Navy, and as with anything there is good and bad in anything one does. After he talks to each service, have him compare every offer and then make a decision. If your buddy has any service specific questions, I am sure there are enough of us that could offer up some advice. Buck

I am right handed as well, but I bolted mine on the left. Basically I mounted mine 1/4 of the total length on the left. My bench is longer so I use the whole right side to clean and work on the firearms. It works for me.

I have to disagree with you. The Border Patrol has to work with BOTH hands behind thier backs and with blinders on. I have friends in the BP and they do thier best, but the problem lies in DC. Until that situation is coreected the BP agents on the ground will continue to run around in circles.
