Manama is probably still locked down, so your cousin probably wont be a getting off base. If the unrest quites down tell him to hit the Londoner Pub. Good place and out of the way.

I too bought one back in the late 80's. Shot a few hundred (2 or 3) rounds through and put it away when I transferred to Hawaii. In 97 I broke it out to take to the range as a relief when I was shooting my 300 Weatherby. About 5 rounds down the tube and it didnt cycle right??? I looked at the reciever and I pulled the trigger and noticed the action was cycling way too far back and impacting the reciever. Hmmm. Took the action out there in the bench and plastic pieces just fell out. The plastice recoil buffer shattered. I was a bit angry and more than a little disappointed. I called Marlin and they gladly offered to send me one if I gave them my credit card #. Well I dont use credit cards so I didnt have a credit card number to give. They were a bit rude when I told them that I didnt us credit cards, they acted like I was a neanderthal or something. The more I thought about it the madder I got. I was about to the point of cutting it up into one inch pieces and mailing it back to them. My buddy who worked in a gun shop in El Cajon cautioned me not to do that, even though it would be cut up I would still be shipping the thing through the mail. So I threw it into the safe and left it there until last year when I replaced the buffer. LOL So yes its a good shooter but that plastic recoil buffer fiasco prevents me from posting glowing reviews.

It looks to me like they were trying to do a rotor over at an insufficient atlitude and couldnt recover. With that said the video isnt good enough quality or stable enough to pick up any obvious problems, ie loss of tail rotor authority, etc.

When I was a SERE instructor back in the late 90's I leached acorns in a stream and it took about 8 hours to do. With that said it was winter time and the stream was running rather fast and I only leached maybe 40 crushed acorns, which I feed to my students. I am sure if you just soaked them and changed the water every 24 hours you would expend less calories and energy for the amount of food you get out of it.
-
If you try to leach the acorns its easier and faster if you crush or break up the acorns first.
-
When leaching acorns make sure the nut is pure white prior to eating or it will still contain tannin. A little wont hurt you but when you are down to foraging for food taking chances shouldnt be done.
-
Tannin is toxic. If enough is consumed it will shut down your kidneys. So yes the tannins must be leached out via boiling, soaking in a running stream, etc...

As someone mentioned look at Consumer Reports before you buy. While Dysons are well made and perform well they command a hefty price. Four years ago I went on the vacuum search and started researching it. Dyson does do well for the most part. About every complaint is backed up with hundreds of good reviews. When it was all said and done I went with a Bissell Pet Hair Eraser. It does a good job but after a few years of daily use (well mostly daily use, I vacuum the house 5 to 6 days a week) it is showing its age. I have replaced the handle and the lock lever once. The last time the handle broke I used Hysol to repair it and its still going strong Over all I am pleased with it. Anyway after reading about vacuums I learned that while the Dyson does well, it will vacuum up the same amount of dirt just a little faster than the Bissell so that made up my mind.

Dolomite, It seems your story has ALOT of points to it that mirror another problem I had. I was stationed in San Diego in the late 90's and someone in Hawaii ordered tools and stereo equipment to be deliverd to Hawaii using my name and a credit card in my name. Keep in mind my address and duty station was in San Diego. I went round and round with Sears over it and like you, got the same story from Sears. That deal almost cost me my security clearance. Luckily my chain of command went with me to the CO to explain and show documentation to what actually took place. For about two years I tried to work with Sears to get it taken care of and they just didnt want to help fix it. All they wanted was for me to pay them even though I filled a claim with proof that I was in SoCal at the time of the charges. I had PCS orders placing me in SoCal and TAD orders that placed me at Warner Springs the time the charges were made. It never got taken care of and eventually it went to a collection agency and I would just have fun with them. They would call all the time and I just invite them to may place and they would wait till thier little heart was content because it would be a cold day in Hell before I gave them or Sears a penny. I did at one point get a regional manager on the phone and kindly explained that if his heart or any of his stores were on fire I would not take to time to piss on them. LOL

I got a DUI in Alaska, once. In 2003, the only problem was my physical self was actually onboard the USS John C Stennis in the Persian Gulf at the time of my arrest and lock up. I didnt learn about it until after I retired from the Navy and tried to renew my drivers lisc. and was told I couldnt. That was a very rough week getting that mess cleaned up. Every one, keep your eyes on your credit history, bank statements, credit cards, your credit score and anything and everything that has your name on it shred it if you dont HAVE to have it for tax/historical reasons.
