Luke this will really be my first year with it. Just got it back from being restrung. I can consistently hit targets out to 45 yds., but really would like to keep my shots to around 35, 40yds. That pic. was made Sun. which was the first time I had a chance to go. I've got another blind that I can hunt, and a couple ladder stands also. Will try and get some photos of those some time soon.

Here's a pic. from my buddys huntin house, that let me use one day last year. There wer 16 turkeys all together that day and 5 were Toms. Iwatched them come out in the field just left of the pines you see. They came straight over towards me up to about 35 yds. then turned and went off toward that last one on the right. Fifteen mins. later while the trukeys are still scratchin around in the field, 11 does come out. Well all I can say is that only 10 left.

Here's one of my huntin houses, I built this as a playhouse for the kids when they were younger. Approximately 10 yrs. ago. my son was the one that painted it. It had been sitting in the back yard since then, well three years ago I put a new floor and a door, and bingo daddy'd new huntin house, aka La Casa. Here's the view out the north window which is the side of the house you see. and to the south, took this one last year while huntin.

Don't care for either of Penske's drivers, and tired of Hendrick's. Hope one of the Gibb's cars, or Greg Biffle.

Sounds like fun.

Understand Tango, as to the OP's question. Marlins are huntin rifles, I have a few, some are a sure beauty but they still go to the woods.

Reload your own. The35 is a VERY capable cal. I have a leveraction and a Savage pump action in 35.
-
I should add that I no longer have a 7.62x39, or the 45/70, but I did add a 308 MX, and a 50 cal muzzle loader, these bullets aren't in the pic.

here you go smallest 22lr, largest is the 54 cal blackpowder down in front.

Ferguson, MO, What would you do if this happened near you
Sidinman replied to runco's topic in General Chat
We live out in the county, about 10 miles from the city limits. So not alot to draw them this way, but ya never know. Know my neighbors pretty good. One is my huntin, & shootin partner. Next is a National Guardsman, been overseas three times in the past 5 or 6 yrs. And the other is my younger brother, so we can & will watch out for each other. So if you show up around here univited you'll more than likely meet some of the firearms, and the good lord. In the same day. -

Well got a few well armed neighbors, so we'd probably stand our ground watch each others backs. Any problems arise just send 'em to meet the good lord and let him sort 'em out. -
Playin around with the 308 MX, Updated
Sidinman replied to Sidinman's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Well I got a chance to shoot her a t 200 yds. yesterday. Didn't have any handloads to test so I took a handful of Hornaday 160 FTX's. Lets just say I need to practice a little more. But out of the five shots, I got a couple fliers, and a 3 shot group of about 3" to 3 1/2". Two of the shots were an inch and quarter apart with the third about 2" left of the closet. Not bad I guess for the first time shootin this rifle at this distance.Sorry no pic. this time, my bud threw the target in his truck and left, when he came back a little later the targets had come off the plywood. Now mind you most of the huntin shots will most likely be 150yds. or less, I was just try to see what mine and its limitations are. -
Man I hate it when that happens. lol. I'm sure you'll think of sumthin

Thanks Greg, I'm kinda a levergun guy and like the single action revolvers also. Yes I think this is probably gonna be my go to gun this deer season, even though I've a few others that will see some hunting time also. Pretty sure the bolt guns are stayin in the safe this year. -

Alright I got the Factory crimp Die in last week and this weekend was kind of busy, but I did load some heavier bullets. Got to try a few out late Sun. afternoon. First I shot 4 factory loads, these were Rem. 150gr Core-lokt SP. First two shots are the pair over the center bulls eye, then the third is the one right over the orange and the last was almost dead on. The the next group is with a 160 FTX & 41.0grs. Leverevolution. First two are the ones right under the bulls eye, the one to the right was next and that was all my fault, I knew soon as I pulled the trigger. The lower target was with a 170gr Speer SP and the same 41.0grs, of the LVR. The first shot is the one to the right of bulls eye, second is the high one, then the low one and the last shot was the best. As you can see I'm no sharp shooter. All these shots are at 75yds, off a bench. Maybe next weekend I'll get a little more time, but for right now think I'll stick with the 160grs. Gonna try a few different loads and see about a little longer distance. -

I have a Marlin 25MN, it is a very accurate little bolt action. Haven't got around to scoping it yet, but in the next week or so it will be wearin a Nikon 3x9x40 Rimfire. Then I'll really be able to find out what she'll do. Good luck in your search, and let us know what you come up with. Would also like to have one of the octagon barreled ones Henry offers. The list never stops, lol. -
tango, I saw on another site, that Hornaday will start makin the 35's again Aug. So it shouldn't be long before you should be seeing it. I load my own so its not a problem, and I just pickeed up a mold so it will even be a little easier from here on out. Good luck in your search. Luv my 35's.

A woman walked into the kitchen to find her husband stalking around with a fly swater. "What are you doing?" She asked. "Hunting flies." he responded. "Oh! Are you killing any." She asked. "Yep, 3 males, 2 females, " he replied. Intrigued, she asked....."How can you tell them apart?" He responded, "3 were on a beer can, and 2 were on the phone."
