Don't load for the .40. But like Unique, Blue Dot, and H110 for the .357.

A while back I ask my mother if I could have my fathers old dress uniform jacket. It has all his service ribbons. Well today I went by to show her some pics. and helped her take down and box up the Christmas decorations. Before I left she pulled the jacket out and gave it to me. Cool! Well I've been researchin the ribbons and have figured out what they all are except for one. Am curious if anyone here may have a clue. He served at the end of WWII & the Korean War. The ribbon in guestion is the buttom right in the third row.

Sorry for the loss Greg, will keep you and yours in our prayers. Sounds like one heck of a woman, I know she will be missed, my condolences to the family.

You may have heard on the news about a Southern California man who was put under 72-hour psychiatric observation when it was found he owned 100 guns and allegedly had 100,000 rds. of ammunition stored in his home. The house also featured a secert escape tunnel. By Southern Ca. standards, someone owning 100,00 rds. is considered "mentally unstable." In Illinios he would be in jail or the Chicago Mayor's bodyguard. In Michigan, he'd be called "the last white guy still livin in Detroit." In Arizona, he'd be called "an avid gun collector." In Arkansas, he'd be called "a novice gun collector." In Utah, he'd be called"moderately well prepared," but they'd probably reserve judgement until they made sure that he had a corrreponding quanity of stored food. In Kansas, he'd be "a guy down the road you would want for a friend." In Montana, he'd be called "the neighborhood 'Go-To' guy." In Alabama, he'd be called "a likely GOP gubernational candidate." In Georgia, he'd be called " an eligible bachelor." In North Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, & South Carolina, he would be called "a deer hunting buddy." And in Texas he'd just be " The neighbor Bubba who's a little short on ammo."

Took this little guy yesterday with a Ruger Vaquero 44 mag. 4.62 barrel at 20yds. Load was a 240gr. lead fp and 10.5 grs of unique. One shot right behind the front shoulder, a complete pass through. Have also used a Scoped SBH 44mag. and a 41 mag BH. the SBH I had for a few yrs. bought it with the scope already on it for $450, the 41 BH I bought before that not sure what I piad for it, but I'd say around $400, the Vaquero pictured here I just picked up about a month ago for $536 OTD.

Can't help ya on the ammo much, but its a heck of a cal. I've got a pair, and I've never had to chase one thats been shot with one. Good luck in your search. Pioneer Outdoors in Bolivar Tn. may have some. Haven't been over there in a couple mons. but they usually have it.

Alright I finally got something more to add. Now its nothin special, except fer the fact that I took 'em with my new to me 44 Mag. Vaquero. He came out of the woods about 50 to 60 yds. to my east, then turned and came right by me at about 20 yds. Well the 240gr. lfp & 10.5 grs. of unique knocked him right down.I think this is the same little fella that I gave a pass to last Sun. while I was huntin with my 35 Rem.

Luke thats what we use, he has one thats made like a heater. I've one in that one ground blind that I converted from the kids play house thats like a little cooker, they both just screw on those little propane bottles. Last year I took a small cast iron skillet and warmed soup and such on mine. :yum:
-
Luke it really is. Its 5x6, we built it on a 5x8 trailer. He's a welder, and it was made from scrap he had lyin around. The frame is 3x3 angle and has the 6" insulation they use on metal buildings, the only wood in it is the 3/4" floor. We can heat it with a small propane heater. The pictures of the turkey that post I some pages back were taken from this house.

I've been workin up some loads for my Glenfield lately. Been gettin some good results with BL-C(2), and the LEVERevolution. And the Win 748 is showin a little promise also. I'm using the Hornaday 160ftx's with the first two, and a170gr FN with the Win748. Good luck.
