  1. Ok, "one" of my favorites a 1975 made 336 Marlin 35 Rem. Shortened to 16.5". RP
  2. I've seen 3 or 4 of them around here, $249- $259, and all with the black grips. I like those wooden ones there downtown. RP
  3. My first car, 67 Mustang RP
  4. I hunt with all kinda different rifles, if I buy something new, well it goes to the field. I have blooded most of my rifles, mostly one of three 35 Remingtons, then a couple 30-30's, a sporterized 1903 30-06, 444 Marlin, 308 Marlin Express, a couple different 223's , a Rossi 357, heck one year I took a young one with a 12 ga., and then there's the handguns, a couple different 44 mags, a 41 mag, and even once with 44 cal. BP revolver. Still got a few to try and use before I pass. RP
  5. What Greg said. We're lucky we have good neighbors, and try to be good neighbors. I do occasionally make a little Loud noises off the deck.....ifn ya know what I mean. RP
  6. If asking about the buddies purchase, it was a 95 also. RP
  7. One of the first semi-autos I ever bought was a P95, I still have it. A buddy of mine bought one back in the Summer. RP
  8. I stand corrected. They sure aren't much to look at though , are they?? RP
  9. They run $749 new, how many rounds through it? RP
  10. Well, they must think my yard is a deer haven, as that's where I check mine in at for the past upteen years.. Actually this year it was shot from the backyard, of course he was standing about 100 yds. due north on the farm next door. But I've had permission to hunt it for some 20+ years now. RP
  11. Just so ya know Bolivar is in Hardeman county, about an hour north of Shelby county. RP
  12. SE corner of Madison got some damage, lots of trees and power poles down, and quite a few still out of power. Ours was out till around 7 this morn., not bad here, but just north of us a few miles is the worst for the area. RP
  13. I didn't know I've been away for a while, like I said. They can remove it, my apologizes. RP
  14. Pardon me, then. If unappropriate take it down. RP
  15. I sure hope he's wrong on this one. https://townhall.com/columnists/wayneallynroot/2021/11/28/get-ready-for-president-hillary-clinton-n2599713?utm_source=thdaily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl&bcid=74cfcfbf6db2d6af58093711bcddfa19c9d734d6d953308a2294592486fd0942&recip=556096 RP
  16. W Hey Whisper, just as I said one shot, that is the exit side in the one pic. Those ole 170's work well, I also load those in my Marlin 308 MX. As to the manifold, they are off of a 4.3 Chevy. RP
  17. So much for that.It was, Tuesday morning, That's what I said, when I got up, I told myself I wasn't going this morning. Got up went to the bathroom and then made coffee. Opened the laptop checking some forums while having coffee. Then I get a shower and having another coffee I check the time. Heck I've got an hour or so before work so I fill the thermos and away I go. Not far, got a little hunting house right in the backyard overlooking an old hog lot. The neighbor just recently disced up and planted new grass. Been seeing deer out there the past week now, the grandson and I watched a couple sparring out there last Saturday. Ok, Ok, I've been out there maybe 30 mins. when a nice doe crosses, checking behind her as she does. About the time she's pretty much across a second doe starts across and when it's about half way I notice something else coming . Oh heck, buck grab the binos yep... one of the decent ones that has been on a couple different cameras. So I grab the ole 30-30, a Marlin Westerfield 30-30 made in '65, now he's about the middle of the field and around 100 yds. I put the scope on him and focused, eased the hammer back, and next thing is Bang. Tail flew up he jumped and hauled ass, I watched him hit the woods, then I looked back and the young doe was just still standing there like... What happened. I gave it a few mins walked down to where he was standing but no blood. I knew I hadn't missed, so I walked toward where he ran. Saw his white belly before I ever got to the woods. All together he might have gone a 100 yds. The load was a 170 gr Speer Hot Cor over 29.2 grs of imr 3031. Bought the rifle a couple years ago hadn't even shot it much till this past Summer. First time I've hunted with it or any 30-30 in 10-12 yrs. Inside spread 16", live weight was 185 lbs after gutting and head removal it still weighed 113.5 lbs. Game warden said it was 4.5 yrs. old, probably the nicest deer I've ever taken.
  18. Hope it's a good day, sir. Happy Birthday RP
  19. Terry, I have quite a bit of factory ammo that's been around here for quite sometime, but like you I prefer to shoot my handloads. As most are more accurate anyway, then if something happens to me it will be easier for the better half to sell the factory stuff. RP
  20. Yes, sorry guess I was typing to fast and forgot to add 30-30. I saw somewhere may have been on here where someone was selling some and asking near $30 a box. RP
  21. I load 8 different rifles for myself and one for a close friend. Then I load 8 pistol calibers. I couldn't tell you the last time I bought factory center fire ammo. Oh, I remember it was about 2 yrs. ago, I was walking through the sporting goods department at ww and noticed they had Federal 150 gr in the blue box for $9.99 a box. I bought 10 boxes and still have 8.5 boxes sitting on the shelf. RP
  22. Well I decided to take the .54 caliber Thompson center Renegade. Haven't seen anything except one gray squirrel. got the 1858 as a backup.
