1. Pre Sandy madness here.
2. when you remember black & white tv only when telephones had rotary dials, & we had party lines I remember buying gas for .34 cents
3. Fri. I saw a decent buck chasing a doe, about a mile from the house on a trip to the store. So they are rutting some, that was probably around 3:00. Went yesterday, saw a couple of does about 7:30, and that was it. Got home, and took the dogs for a walk around the farm next to us. The youngest one jumped a small doe, wasn't able to go today.
4. deerslayer, if I were looking at that rifle, I would look it over real well. Check out the fit and finish. The quality of the newer Marlins is getting better, the ones right after the move from New Haven were of some questionable quality.
5. Yeah, Why?
6. Nice buck Graydw. and congrats on taking him with the handgun. I've taken three this year so, two does and one of the scrubs that we've been weeding out the past couple years. Now I fixing to do a little handgun hunting, got a pretty decent 8 pointer running around, so maybe I'll get a chance at him.
7. Congrats to the both of you, what is the spread on that deer Shaun?
8. Yesterday I took my Savage Mod.170 .35 Rem., First time its gone this year.  Well a little before 8 this small 4 point (little scrub) comes troting across the field. Before I can get the gun on him he is in a small thicket, through it and in two the second field. Still moving along pretty good while as I'm raising the rifle, I holler HEY, he pauses for a moment. Alright gun is up and pointing, he is still troting away so I holler HEY. He stops and throws his head up and looks around. Gives me just enough time to draw a bead and squeeze off a shot ........................................................................ bang flop hits the ground drags himself maybe ten yds. Thats it, those 200gr Rem cor locs do a number. Don't have a pic, but there is a picture of said rifle in the .35 Rem thread. Since Sun, I have taken three deer with three different rifles.
9. Nice deer Greg, and a really nice looking ole rifle. Congrats to ya!
10. I hunt both, most of the bucks that I've shot were in the morning, most not all. This year all the bucks that I have seen were in the morning. Of course the nicest one I saw was the weekend of the juvenile hunt, that Sat morn saw two bucks one really nice one, haven't seen him since. But I've taken two does this year and both have been in the afternoon.   Had a chance at a doe this morning at handgun range but it was about the time I needed to leave to go home and start the grill for some Thanksgiving backstrap. So I let it walk til another day.
11. I will say one thing that Hornady 265gr FTX did one heck of a number on this little doe. I hit her at the top of the back and there is a spot larger than a softball missing. I forgot my handgun when I left out this afternoon, and this shot as I was high on the back was not a killing shot. Had to finish her off with this cannon, shot her in the head, not a pretty site. But she never moved another muscle.
12. IIRC, they also have the TGO Logo on them.
13. Sweet! Keep us posted on the updates.
14. I've some more pics. of this gun in my thread in long guns.(New t444ss) if you care to gander. This thing is fast becoming my favorite long gun.
15. I took my new Marlin 444 out for a little stroll today. It got its first blood. This little doe crossed the field at 133 yards, and I introduced her to the hot rod 444.
16. Here's a few more pictures for you to enjoy!
17. Its a 1987 Marlin 444ss with 21" Micro groove barrel. Never shot or handled one til I got it yesterday, its a hoot. Now, I think I want one of ported models. dang Marlinits has set in. lol
18. Here it is a Marlin 444ss. This thing is AWESOME, I don't think I've stopped grinning since I shot it yesterday. Took it to the woods today and if I had been a little quicker I might have been able to have drawn first blood with it. Had a doe sneak by. It came with a scope but they took it off to be easier to ship and I haven't put it back on yet, gona let it go bare back for a while, might go with a peep. Anyway here is a pics for you.
19. Here you go 1981 model 170 Savage with 3x9 Bushnell Sportview. Never thought much about a pump action rifle til I got this one. Pretty handy and quick.
20. Cool story and a great experience for the both of of you.Congrats to you.
21. No scope on mine either. But I would say a 4x32 of some kind should be find.
22. Your right Greg that was a minimum of not a restriction, my bad. sorry
23. I could only find a restriction on caliber, nothing on barrel length. I was thinking that at one time there was but I couldn't find any. Somebody smarter and wiser will be along shortly. Now I"m curious also.
