I saw an article that indicated Mississippi will have constitutional carry beginning July 1st. Some part of the gun must be visible. Anybody know anything about this?

I wasn't aware of all this. Has the no carry in parks ordinance been stricken or could we be prosecuted for carrying in parks in Jackson or Madison County? -

How many definite votes to override veto
jhnpeterman replied to Volzfan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Here's the reply from my rep. Jimmy Eldridge. Doug, Thank you for your email. As you know, I was a co sponsor of this legislation to uphold our Second Amendment rights. Therefore, I am just as disappointed as you to hear of the Governor's veto of this important bill. I will do my part in standing up against his veto and work to override it. The people of this State have spoken and their voice deserves to be heard. Please continue to keep me informed of your concerns. I am proud to represent such fine people. Kindest regards, Jimmy Eldridge -

It appears to be item number 3 on the message calendar. I don't know what happened with it. -
First multi-state trip since getting HCP
jhnpeterman replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Can't find it now. I printed several pages off handgunlaw.us pertaining to GA, It said carry in rest stops was permitted but not in buildings; it cited 16-11-127 (I still have the printed page, but I can't find it now on handgunlaw.us.) It may have changed recently; there is a note on handgunlaw.us that GA off limits was updated on 3/14/09. I don't see that restriction in 16-11-127. -

I believe in GA you can't carry in a building at a rest stop. -
I think I saw that HB0390 (loaded long guns in vehicle with HCP) has been placed on the House calendar for tomorrow. Does anyone know what happened with HB0962 (restaurant carry)?

Have any of the gun bills been voted on yet? -
I can't figure out how to get the restaurant carry info to come up in the map. I know I've seen it before, but I can't make it work now.

House Judiciary Committee Meeting Now

I thought I saw Todd speaking and I think he was the main sponsor on that so I assumed they jumped to that to accommodate him. I can't really watch because I'm at work! -

FYI the mall in Jackson is posted. It may not meet legal requirements, though. Its in very small type on the large sign that explain the rules of conduct. I avoid that place as much as possible.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome!

Hello to all!! I just discovered this forum today and am looking forward to reading the posts. I'm fairly new to guns; I've only been a gun owner for a little over a year.
