  1. I have a Glock 19 Gen4. Everything they have said about it 1s true. The grip angle is weird. The grip is like holding a 2 x4. The trigger sucks and it's ugly. It is the pistol I keep by my bed and the one I train with. It is 100% reliable and accurate and it's light enough to carry often.
  2. I have a Henry Big Boy in .357 with a Ruger Bisley Vaquero in the same caliber. They are both a hoot to shoot. I think a .327 magnum rifle would do a lot for the .327 magnum round. We're talking in excess of 2100fps with a 100 gr bullet gives a muzzle energy of somewhere round 950 ft/lbs. Varmints beware!
  3. What a find! Some people consider the Panther to be the best tank of WWII because of the balance of fire power, armor and mobility. It transmission was the weak link. It was designed for a much lighter vehicle. The French used captured Mark Vs after the war until they could build their own tanks.
  4. Hallelujah! He is risen!
  5. I have a Hi-Point 9mm carbine. It has never failed to fire.  It's ugly, heavy, crudely stamped out of cheap metal and it will slap your face silly. It is also tons of fun to shoot and is surprisingly accurate. To clean it, I just ream out the bore. You'll figure out a solution for the face slapping, I did.
  6. Nice boat too.
  7. There are some people who believe that anything less than a 105mm howitzer is too small for personal protection. I do understand where they are coming from. The .380 with a cross on it? Can you say Vampire Killer? Dip it in garlic and holy water.
  8. If you fire 6000 rounds out of a Kel-Tec then you got your money's worth.  They would probably send you a new barrel.
  9. I didn't say the M-16 wasn't a deadly rifle. I'm saying the same thing you said. It was designed to be light, low recoil with smaller lighter ammo so the soldier could carry more.
  10. "to kill massive amounts of people very quickly."  Preaching to the choir....   This is the propaganda that the anti-gun people are spewing all over the media. First of all they are talking about the M-16. The AR-15 is a semi-automatic version not used by the military. Most importantly, the M-16 was NOT DESIGNED TO KILL! It was designed to save soldier's lives and win battles. The M-14 was designed to kill. They didn't care how heavy it was or how fierce the recoil was or how heavy the 7.62 ammo was. They just wanted a rifle that would deliver 5000 ft/lbs of muzzle energy and be accurate up to 800 yards.  The M-16 was the first rifle in U.S  history designed with the soldier in mind. It was light weight, low recoil with lighter smaller rounds so you could carry more ammo. It was designed to cover 0-300 yards. We have other weapons that will reach out to 800 yards. So to say that the AR-15 was designed to kill is just  wrong. It is the son of a rifle that was designed to save lives and win battles.
  11. Maybe if people are spending their money on Green Tips they'll stop buying 22LR.
  12.   You have good taste dude. Those are three fine handguns. You have concealed carry covered and home defense. One of my favorite handguns to shoot is the .357 magnum version of the Ruger Bisley Vaquero. It is as accurate as any pistol I own. It's heavy enough to absorb the recoil of hot loads, so I can shoot it all day and I had to get a nice Cheyenne western rig for it.
  13. I know there are a lot of really fine little 380s out there. I recently got rid of all of my 380s and went to 9mm. There's just one 380 I could not part with. This little honey is just too sweet to part with. The slide is silky smooth, nights sights and the trigger is crisp but not too light.

I love my CZ. It's my range warrior. It's accurate, good trigger out of the box (not great), very low recoil for 9mm, night sights, 18 round magazines and totally reliable. You would think I would use it for home defense but I don't. It because of the extra weight. I have a few pistols that are lighter, even though they have more recoil, than the CZ. I prefer a lighter handgun if I am going to fight in a phone booth. (Tight quarters).
  15. Bob Bowen is a guy I work with. He is a great Building Automation Technician but is passion is photography. He just got back from Yellowstone. The highs were in the twenties and the lows at night were in signal digits. They found a fresh kill and set up cameras. After several hours the wolf pack returned and he got these pics. The black wolf was several hundred yards away. Bob said it was very rare to even get this close to a wolf pack. The link below is to Bob's photos. he gets a big kick when people visit his web site. The Bullfrogs he photographed make me smile! http://rdbowen.smugmug.com/Nature
  16. Bloody Friday off Guadalcanal. More sailors died fighting the Japanese fleet, at night, with their big guns, than Marines fighting on the island.  So many ships were sunk off Guadalcanal that they named it Iron Bottom Sound. This was some of the bloodiest fighting of World War II. The Japanese chose to fight at night when the US Navy and Marine aircraft couldn't fly. The Japs had a secret weapon called the "Long Lance" Torpedo which ran on oxygen. The US Navy was out numbered, out gunned and out trained. The Japs underestimated our resolve and courage.
  17. The Marine Corps has a fine rifle training class. :usa:
  18. This man is insane. Hates America. Hates guns. Loves Mohamed.     http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2091786/Liam-Neeson-considers-converting-Islam-following-trip-Istanbul.html
  19.  Dubai? Really? Americans who own guns are a disgrace yet the corruption and human rights violations (slavery for one) in Dubai, that's OK?  I goes like this: There is a construction boom in Dubai. They get poor Asians to come over with the promise of high wages. When they get their they find out they are basically working for enough food to keep working. When they try to leave, their passports are held by the construction company so they are forced to work until the job is finished.......slaves.   I'll keep my gun and will be a slave to no one. I will never give Liam Neeson another dime of my money.
  20. One word. Mayonnaise !  Thanks France. No Southerner would eat a Tomato Sandwich without it.
  21. I'm a little old for that. This is what I had.
  22. There is one word you will never, EVER, hear Obama say and that is "Liberty".  I'm all for it. If you have earned the right to own and carry a firearm you should not be hindered. Our Constitution and Bill of Rights is one of the greatest documents ever written in the history of mankind.  The men who wrote it were a lot smarter than anyone gives them credit for. Just read some of the things they wrote. Brilliant!
  23.       I wish I had a dollar for every time someone complained about a plastic mainspring housing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a plastic mainspring housing. It there were then Colt and Kimber would not use them.
  24. If it is in the original box and is in real good condition then $450 is a premium price. The model 10 is a classic handgun but they made a lot of them. If you are going to buy it as an investment, the price is too high. If you are going to shoot it, then you will put so much money in ammo through it that the price makes little difference.  I can shoot $100 worth of ammo easy in one range session. I have shot more money in ammo through my model 36 3", than I paid for the gun.
  25. The sound is better coming off a quality turntable. Back in the 70s, it was all about sound quality, with big speakers, big amps, vacuum tubes. People are starting to realize that there is more to just owning a little "light" box with every song ever made on it, listened to with cheap poorly made speakers. I recently gave my son all of my LPs like: Beetles White Album, Lynard Skynard, George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers, The Pretenders Learning to Crawl, Doc Watson's best off album, The Steve Miller Band, Leo Kottke, Brain Salad Surgery  The Cars Fleetwood Mac Stan Lee Jordan. Blue Oyster Cult.
