XDm 40. Has anyone replaced the back straps on the grip?
Will Carry replied to Will Carry's topic in Handguns
I'll hit it harder. thanks Jeff. -
How hard do you have to hit the roll pin to replace the backstraps? I hit that roll pin harder than I should have and it would not come out. I was trying to put the larger backstrap on. Is there a trick to it?

It seals the left side of the cylinder to protect the left hand.

This is like some science fiction movie, I can't believe this is happening. If the good people of Arizona formed a malitia, armed themselves and went into that area to get their state back, Obama would call in the National Gaurd and have them all arrested. Tennessee went to Texas back in the day and helped the Texans deal with their Mexican problem. Are we going to have to go back again?

Which Carry Weapon ammo round do you prefer?
Will Carry replied to a topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Whatever I can get. Federal 38sp. low recoil personal defense 115gr JHP. Federal 45ACP 230gr JHP. Black Hills .357 125gr SJHP. It ain't as important as people might think. It's more important to be able to put rounds on target. -
I am beginning to rethink the lowly revolver. I carry a revolver now more than my Glock. You know what wheel gunners say about semi-auto owners. "Twice the ammo, half the man."

I would not worry as much about shooting .357 rounds from a snubby unless you are in bear country. My favorite snubby is a S&W Chief's Special nickel 3" barrel and the "old school" slim grips. The smaller grip is makes drawing much faster. I shoot standard pressure 38 special personal defense loads. I also have a Taurus M85 with Crimson Trace Grips. The CT grips make this litte snubby deadly accurate. I use +P SJHP in the M85. I carry one under each arm for a New York reload.

DON'T DO IT. Why would you want something on your body that you have seen on a bathroom wall at a truck stop? Why do you feel like you need to have some dope head scribble crap on your body? Is it going to make you into a tough guy? Do you think a tatoo will make you look cool or tough ot "bad"? Do you have problems with self esteem? Any wuss can get a tatoo but they are still wusses. That is what I told my son. It's exactly the wrong thing to say.

Can anyone tell me what this wedding band is worth?
Will Carry replied to strickj's topic in General Chat
It cost me a house and loss of self esteem. -
Funny comercial. I'm suprised those Dodges didn't break down before they got to that thin red line.

Join. It's cheaper than a box a ammo. You get a sticker for your bumper. The chicks will go wild when you wear you NRA T-shirt. You'll be a babe magnet. ....did I mention the babe magnet thing?

What I am about to tell you has never been told before. The statute of limitations has run out so I can tell it without fear. When I was in college in 1977 I was an idiot. I lived in East Nashville on Holly Street in a house that was built in 1907. I used to look in the picture mirror in our bedroom and practice racking my Remington 870. I was practicing racking 5 rounds, then reloading a shell as fast as I could. Nothing wrong with practicing...right? Well I racked out 5 rounds and loaded a shell pretty darned fast, so I put the shotgun down and went about my day. After a while I returned to the bedroom and saw the 870 laying there and thought. How fast can you rack out 5 rounds? So I picked up the shotgun, pointed it at myself (in the mirror), dry fired it "click", racked it and BANG! Blew the mirror to smithereens. I forgot I had loaded one shell into the tube before I layed it down. I did not think it was funny at the time. I cleaned up the broken glass, patched the plaster wall, hung up an old painting that has in the closet and when my yound wife got home I said, "Honey, that there mirror on the wall broke and I put up grandma's old picture in it's place." I got away with it, but I was lucky. So when I go and say there is no such thing as an accidental discharge, it's from personal experiance.

You did the right thing. When my Boy Scout troop were out camping, back then we camped a lot on private land, I would always have them recon the area. It was called "Beer cans and bullet holes." If we found any of these, we would find another location to set camp. It is also impolite and dangerous to walk up to someones camp without hailing the camp first. A friendly "Hello in the camp!" will do. It is also polite to ask before entering the camp and don't stay too long unless you are envited to. Some people don't want stangers in their camp others welcome folks who are polite and friendly.

Thanks for posting that. Bad guys can be experts at picking out who to attack and who to leave alone. They will use distraction techniques and ambush. They will bump your car and when you get out of your car another BG will get in and drive your car away. They will create a road block that looks like a wreck and when you stop a BG will be pointing an AK 47 at you. Don't think they are all stupid or drug crazed though there are a lot of those too. In my town there have been some very sophisticated tactics used by bad guys. You want to learn how bad guys operate? Talk to a cop.................

My daughter once told me, "Guns are just made for killing!". I simply told her that, "Guns are what protect us from the bad people." She liked that answer I recon.

I was just kidding about the hugging part. I just hate seeing this country getting torn apart.

Maybe the Good Lord was trying to tell us something. You can talk like a Christian, you can look like a Christian and that may work for ya here on earth. But that is the only reward you'll get. Jesus said to go into a closet where it's just you and God, then pray....... "I've read the Bible. I didn't understand all of it, but I understood a good part of it." Sling Blade

If America is going to move forward. We need to stop listening to our political leaders when they tell us to hate the other party. Lets all take a Democrat to lunch today! Give'em a big hug! AND you Democrats! SAME THING. You want to listen to someone speak with wisdom, read the red letters. HE will tell you how to do it.

35 miles a day! A horse and rider can't go that fast. I have heard that a man can run a horse into the ground, but I thought it was a myth. Have you met any Canadian girls yet?

After hunting all over the area to find 2 boxes of 380 target loads, I went to the range today to break in my new DB380. I had shot 60 rounds through it a few weeks ago with two FTFs. This time I had so many failures to feed that I lost count. It would either fail to pick the round out of the magazine or instead of inserting the round into the barrel it would point to the sky and double feed. I am sending this pistol back for warranty repairs. I am having to question the whole concept of a "Pocket Pistol" for summer carry. I also am developing an intense dislike for the .380 round. The .380 does make me appreciate my 50 year old Smith and Wesson model 36 Chief's Special. I can pull that old pistol and put rounds on target faster than any pistol I own.

Submariners: 150 men go down. 75 happy couples come up.

Now THAT was funny. I don't care what anybody says.

Even though I own a Mark III and love it. It is heavy. I shot a Browning 22 target pistol at the range. It was light as a feather. The old dude shooting it was a competition shooter and that was the pistol he used.
