  1. GP-100 .357 magnum, SS 4" with Black Hills 125gr. Semi-Jacketed Hollow Points.
  2. What is carrying Mexican? I need to know this.
  3. Smith and Wesson model 36 Chiefs Special nickle plated three inch barrel: What I think it says: Here is a man who has so much confidence in is skill with pistol that he only needs 5 shoots. What it really says: If I ever get attacked I'll crap my pants and won't even remember I have a pistol.
  4. I don't carry one in bed or the shower. I will carry some of my larger guns around the house.
  5. Oh I know what you guys are saying but I just ain't the trusting sort. My family are mountain folk and warey of strangers. I guess I take after them in more ways than I realize. Once they get to know someone and like'em, they are like family.
  6. You don't know if this guy is an idiot or not. You don't know if he knows anything about gun safety, whether he is on medication or stoned. But becuase he has a gun on his hip he's OK. He's your buddy. A brother in arms! Dude, you are nieve. How do you know he is a Law Abiding citizen? I have known too many idiots, dope heads and nut cases who call themselves plumbers. I am a firm believer in the US constitution and it's ammendments. I think we all have the right to keep and bare arms. Just not in my castle. I will not tolerate a stranger in my home armed. Don't I have that right?
  7. The XDM is a 4.5" barrel. Vol you're correct and you're not being nit picky. I am not a good shoot with a pistol. My vision has gotten bad, up close, as I have aged. If I wear my reading glasses I can see the sights but I can't see the target. Without my reading glasses I see the target 20/20 but the sights are blurry. I've only been shooting pistols for a couple of years and even though I enjoy it, I don't think I'll ever be a great shot. So you must take my review with a grain of salt. I really want a Sig. It's on my list. Maybe I'll trade the Glock 36 and get a Sig or an H&K. The best pistol I own is a Colt 1911 but I left it at home today. Smith, You are right about the bore axis on Springfield's X pistols. What do you shoot?
  8. Colt Government 1911. Remington Model 700 in 30.06 Remington Model 870 in 16ga. Smith and Wesson Model 29 44 mag. Bushmaster Ar15.
  9. Look at ME. I'm a LIBERAL! I get offended went people don't pay attention to ME and what I want. People who don't agree with ME are bad people. The world revolves around ME!
  10. I took my two Glocks (G19 & G36) and two Springfields (XD-45 & XDm-40) to the range today to see which pistol was more accurate. Here is what I found. 1) Glock 36 45acp with crimson trace laser guard: I'm beginning to dislike this pistol. The laser makes it very accurate and the 45acp makes it a man stopper but it started failing to eject. It would fail to throw out the spent shell casing (4 times). I also have a blood blister on my pinky because the original magazine is a pinky pincher. Very annoying. The CT laser guard will fit on my G19 so this Glock 36 will be the next pistol I sell. 2) Glock 19 9mm 4 gen: This gun shot well, not failures and good accuracy. I like it. It's small enough to conceal carry and has 15 round magazines. It's nothing fancy but it's a Glock. 3) Springfield XD-45 45acp: My favorite pistol. It has never failed. It's very accurate. It has 13 round magazines with a hard hitting 45acp cartridge. The recoil is tame enough that it's my daughter's favorite range gun. The trigger action is far superior to either of my Glocks. 4) Springfield XDM-40 .40 S&W: We have a winner! I may have shot the tightest group at 10 yards that I have ever shot. The trigger action is better than the Glocks, but not as good as the XD-45. The recoil is tame and it shoots 16 rounds of the awesome .40 S&W cartridge. This pistol does everything well. It may be a little large for concealed carry but could be carried in cooler weather. I plan on carrying it as soon as it cools off. I like the G19, with the CT laser guard I can shoot in the dark. It will be my bedside gun The Springfield XDm 40, should help me beat that cocky x-air force MP dork. who thinks he so good The G36 will get one more chance to be my CC pistol. The XD-45 will remain a woods gun for when I hike in bear country or gator country
  11. Fallguy, I didn't mean to sound like such an ass last night, it ain't the first time..... Whether I would draw down on a plumber who was carrying depends on the circumstances. If you are going to carry concealed in someones home, it better stay concealed. There are two laws that would apply. 1) Brandishing a weapon. 2) Going in terror of the public. If a home owner sees your weapon and calls the cops, you would have to answer these charges. On the other hand if I, as a homeowner, pulled a gun on a plumber in my house. I could potentially be charged too. So I promise not to shoot the plumber if you promise to keep your handgun well concealed. With any luck niether of us will get in trouble with the law.
  12. Fall guy, I am an American and a Southerner (by the grace of God), I don't have to hang a sign on my house or ask if anyone is armed when they enter my house. I cannot understand why you think it is OK to allow an armed stanger into your house. You tell me and TGO why you think it is OK for an armed stranger to enter your house. I just can not believe anyone would say " Hey there mr. repair man that I don't know! Come on in and bring your fire arm. Heck you may be a crack head but that's OK, just come on in. You may be a suicidal maniac but bring your pistol in with you." WTF? Do you see that I'm trying to help you? I would never bring a firearm into your house. There ain't no need.
  13. Easy guys! So it would be OK is someone came in to your house to fix a sink and they were packin heat? Some perfect stranger you have never seen before comes in to your house armed, and you think it's OK? Are you guys NUTS? Have you lost your minds? If you want to enter my house armed you must be 1) a friend. 2) Family I trust. 3) an LEO with a search warrent. Other than that you need to leave your piece in the truck. Now if you have a piece concealed where I can't see it, then I won't get upset.....don't get me upset! I will defend my home from any threat.
  14. As a home owner. If some stranger came to my home to do work. He would not be armed. If I found out he was armed, there would be trouble. I would kindly ask him to leave, with my 45 pointed at him, safety off. I realize that you are going to peoples homes that you do not know, but you have to look at it from my view. I don't know you either and in my home I'm the king and the knight.
  15. That's just plain ugly. Was he a fire fighter responding to a call?
  16. He's a smooth talking silver tongued poster child for........... what I don't know. All he wanted to do is get elected. As far as I know, that is all he has done. He is way out of his league and has no clue on how to run a country. He is one and done.
  17. From my own personal experiance. When the time came to defend my home from invasion, I was shaking like a leaf. I was hoping that after the first shot the shaking would go away. Thank God I did not have to shoot.
  18. You are getting some great advice. These guys know their guns. A Glock 19 is the gold standard of conceal carry guns. My daughter is 5'3" and 115lbs. Her favorite pistol to shoot is my Springfield XD-45, a .45 caliber. She's a pretty darned good shot with it. If you have the money I would go with a Glock, Springfield, Smith and Wesson, Sig, or H&K. I would stay away from a .380 all together. The ammo is harder to find, it's expensive and the 380 doesn't have the stopping power. You can try different pistols and different calibers to see what you like. Don't thumb your nose at revolvers either, they have their place in self defense pistols. Until you decide on what you are going to carry, get a Glock 19. I will retain it's value well if you decide to sell it in the future. My carry guns are: Glock 19 9mm Glock 36 45acp Smith and Wesson Chief's Special 38special Springfield XDm-40 40s&w Colt 1911 45acp XD-45 45acp Diamondback DB380, .380 (I know I said not to buy a 380, but this one is a back up pistol and for deep concealment.)
  19. The battleship Yamoto had 9, 18.1 inch guns. The total weight of a broadside was 29,000lbs at a muzzle velocity of 2290fps. Every time she fired her broadside it would knock out her primitive radar. She weighted in at 70,000+ tons, 25,000 tons bigger that our largest battleships (Iowa class) which were 45,000 tons and 16" main batteries.
  20. RIP Stevie Ray.
  21. "The vision of admiral Spragues three destroyers - the Johnston, the Hoel and the Heerman- charging out of the smoke and rain striaght towards the batteries of Kurita's battleships and cruisers, can endure as a picture of the way Americans fight. Our school children should know about that incident. Our enemies should ponder it." One of the boldest charges in history. The turrets of the Yamato's 18.1 inch guns weighted as much as a US Navy destroyer. The only thing between the US landing ships at Leyte, our the escort carriers and a Japanese fleet of battleships, cruisers and destroyers were three small ships. Comander Evans of the USS Johnston did not even wait for orders. He attacked! He fired all of his torpedoes then went in with his 5 inch guns. Comander Evans went down with his ship. The Japs turn around and went home.
  22. Taurus M85UL. The center pin on the cylinder would get stuck, rendering the pistol useless. My other was a sigma 9mm. Neither pistols were bad but they were the worst I've bought so far......
  23. I don't know if any of you guys realize it but Tennessee has some of the best whitewater rivers anywhere in the world. From the Nolichucky to the Chickamauga, Daddy's Creek to Suck Creek to the Big Firey Gizzard, Tennessee attracts paddlers form all over the south. They even let Yankees paddle the rivers and creeks in Tennessee. Tonight there is a show about teaching dissabled combat veterans about the joys of whitwater kayaking, as a way of copping with their dissabilities. Maybe you'll see these fellers paddling in the great states of Tennessee one day.
  24. Holy Cow! That woman needs to be on welfare so she can stay home and not go out in public. I hope that she doesn't breed but I'm afraid it's too late.
  25. That is the truth!
