  1. I think you are right! We need to let them know when they are acting inappropietly. Of course the kids say I'm too nice of a guy. I was somplaing about a guy next to me on an airplane and how talked at me through the entire flight. The young guy said. "Why were you so polite to the dude. You will never see him again, NEVER. I'd tell him to STFU and to keep his $#&% on his side of the seat! I ain't gonna let some weirdo ruin my flight." Kids today. This young guy is an idiot for thinking that they will never meet again. It's a small world and it is not uncommon for people to meet again. If I do meet him again he will remember the long talk we had and he will consider me a friend. might even help me out. What if I had been an ass to that guy and we met again. We would not be friends and he would not help me. You be polite to starngers, treat them with respect and kindess. Turn the other cheek to their transgressions because you will meet again.
  2. I once took a piece of 1/2 thick lexan and layed it up against a log. I then stood off 20 feet with my Ruger Mark II. The round struck the lexan dead center, then bounced back and hit me right in the nads. It didn't break the skin, but it dropped me to my knees. The lexan had only a scratch. I quess shot place is more important than energy.
  3. AND ANOTHER THING! You walk up to someone and stand right in front of them and start talking to them. After about half a sentence you realize they are a thousand miles away. Then you notice the little ear phones in their ear. Then they look up like "hey, that guy is talking to me." , remove one ear phone and say "what?" so you got to start talking all over again.......OR You're standing in line at the grocery store and the dude behind starts talking right out of the blue. You think, "that guys is crazy!" but he has a ear phone on and he's talking to someone. So you get to here this guys private conversations................ I'm going on a canoe camping trip in a few weeks. Smallmouth fishing on the French Broad River. I really need to get out in the woods and back to nature. . It's good to be alive and in Tennessee!
  4. I saw a picture of the crowd watching the space shuttle launch last week. Over half of the people in the photo were watching the launch thru their cell phones and I-berrys. Why couldn't they just watch the launch in real life? I saw two guys at work sitting right next to each other and the were TEXTING EACH OTHER! Why don't they just talk? Other kids at work will whip out that little screen at a moments notice and start doodling with it. Why don't they just concentrate on their work? Young people can't seem to go 5 minutes without be mesmerized by this little box with pretty pictures...............I'm getting old.........
  5. Is this some kind of a sick joke? Say in ain't so! Court: No right to resist illegal cop entry into home
  6. I have heard pros and cons of carrying in purses but the people making these remarks are all men. I would like to her a woman's view on the subject.
  7. I have been camping at Frozenhead State Park for the last 18 years. The campsites are great and they offer free firewood. The Obed Wild and Scenic River has some cool canyons you can explore, Frozen Head State Park has some really nice trails too. The fishing on the Emory, Obed rivers as well as Daddys Creek and Clear Creek offer some outstanding fishing.
  8. Is you a Yankee reinactor? Or is you a Rebel? My great grandfather (Isaac Mason) fought with the Army of Tennessee. Lumsden's Battery. 2nd Alabama Light Artillery. During the Battle of Nashville he was at Rebout #4 which was less than 1/8 mile from where I lived in Nashville. He was 18 years old when he surrendered in Meridian Mississippi in 1865. He was shot once in the Buttocks at Nashville.
  9. I had to state that Jack was the best selling whiskey, but I didn't say it was the best tasting whiskey. I have tried the stuff they make in Kentucky and what they make in Scotland. My ancestors left Scotland in search for some good whiskey and they went to Ireland. They were so disappointed that they said "Screw this, lets go to America and make our own whiskey." So they came to America in 1756, Suffolk County Virginia and headed straight for Tennessee, then they turned left, crossed the Tennesee River and settled in North Alabamer. They made some good whiskey from what I've heard....................
  10. Jack Daniels has kind of a peppery after taste. George Dickel has more of a woody flavor. I have to say that Jack Daniels is known throughout the world and is one of Americas largest exports, but I like George Dickel jest a little bit betta.
  11. There's one for all the caliber snobs! A 22!!!!
  12. Catoosa is a great place (ticks and chiggers). It was all logged heavily back in the day, mined too. It has since rebounded and is a wonderful place. My Avatar was taken in Catoosa in Daddys Creek Canyon. Daddys Creek, Obed River, Clear Creek, Emory River. You can't see it all in a week or a year. Bring a rod, those creeks are full of Smallmouth.
  13. Tsun Tsu, The Art of War. Don't read any other book, besides the Bible, until you have read and understand Tsun Tsu. It's like warfare 101.
  14. I'm from Lower Alabamabad. L.A.
  15. Are you dead set on the Buffalo River? The Emory/Obed watershed near Wartburg Tn has some great smallmouth fishing and canyons that rival the west. Obed River, Clear Creek, Daddy's Creek, Emory River. These strems can be fished by wading and canoe. That being said, I have heard that the Buffalo River has some great fishing too. I've just never fished it.
  16. I wish they could have burried him at sea while he was still alive. Congragulations SEALs and all the intell that we will never know about. :usa::usa:
  17. I pride myself in my ability to build a fire. I have never tried using cartridge though. I have used magnifying glasses, magnesium sticks and flint but I have never used a bow or a cartridge. I will try that next time I get a chance.
  18. I would still carry concealed in public. I like Florida's new law that says you can't get charged or hassled if you weapon is accidently revealed. I prefer carry concealed because I don't want any bad guy to shoot me first because I am armed and therefore the biggest threat.
  19. If ya'll have never met a Swamp Yankee then you are missing out. I met two Swamp Yankees on the Appalachian Trail near Erwin TN. They were nice fellows but they stunk to high heaven. A Swamp Yankee is a person from what state?
  20. Guns and Ammo writes: "But coolest thing from Taurus this year is what the company is referring to as its most versatile Tracker ever. It's called the Tracker Model 992, and it's an interchangeable-cylinder, double-action revolver in .22 LR/.22 Magnum. There have been interchangeable-cylinder .22 rimfire revolvers before, but they have pretty much been single actions. What makes this one so interesting is the fact that it is double action." The Ruger Super Redhawk 44 mag weights 54oz. The Smith and Wesson model 27 44 mag weight 48oz The Taurus Raging Bull 454 Casull weights 51oz The new Taurus model 992 22LR/22mag weights 55oz. I guess it's to soak up all that recoil......
  21. U.S.Firearms makes a 12/22. It's a 12 round 22LR single action revolver. The New Model 12/22â„¢
  22. Welcome to the wacky world of ballistics! The Black Widow is on my list. It is a very well made firearm. Let us know how you like it. If you have any questions, this is the forum to go for the answers. You'll get all the possible answers. There are some really go people on this forum.
  23. If you are an ugly man, the Tennessee is the place for you! They have the most beautiful women in the world in Tennessee, walking hand in hand with some of the ugliest men you have ever seen. That's why I moved to Tennessee! I figured if all these ugly men could get beautiful women then maybe I could get me one. It worked! I met a lovely lady in Nashville and we were happily married. I think there must be something in the water that effects women's eye sight. I know a guy from Wartburg who could go to the liquor store when he was 16 years old. It wasn't that he looked 21 it just that he was so ugly, nobody wanted to see his picture on his drivers license.....
  24. I carry at home all the time. Since I don't open carry in public, I open carry at the house. I at least have my 380 in a pocket although I like to wear my western rig with a Ruger Vaquero. You ain't paranoid.
