I have two Single Sixes and love'em. One has a 9.5" barrel which will throw out a 22 mag at respectable speeds. The ten shot cylinder would not keep me from buying one, or the dorky sights for that matter. They are very well made single action 22s.

I had two friends get Giardia after paddling a canoe and swimming down Crooked Fork Creek near Wartburg. One was sick for months. Neither well ever paddle Crooked Fork Creek again. I paddle it all the time and have had no problems.

I said I would rather carry an extra gun than an extra magazine, in truth, I usually carry one gun and no extra mags. Sometimes I carry a pocket pistol as a back up. Really spoolie? Do you get pleasure out of belittling other people's posts? It reminds me of some other D Bag on TGO?

Thanks for the feedback guys. We were talking about survival food on North Carolina Gun Owners forum and someone mentioned that food is secondary to water in a survival scenario. I figured the TGO boys would know something about it.

I have heard that you can use Clorox bleach to purify water. The guy was a retired Marine full bird. Do any of you guys know what the ratio of bleach to water is that will purify water and not be toxic? He also said you could mix sea water with fresh water to stretch your supply but I have forgotten what the ratio is too. It's something like 1 part sea water to 6 parts fresh water.

What the FBI Learned about Gangsta Thug Mentality
Will Carry replied to Warbird's topic in General Chat
That is some scarey stuff! I need to go to the range more. I like to think I'm a bad Hamma Jamma but I'm just a mechanic. I make a living pulling wrenches and I haven't been in a fist fight in 30 years. I did win that fight though......... -
What? 3 pistols and only one pair of glasses? You got to be kidding! Get an extra pair. I like the super glue! It's a fast way to close cuts. That is a nice kit a must admit.

I would rather carry a second gun than an extra magazine, but that's just me. I think they call it a New York reload. My theory is why grab an extra mag and have to reload when you can just grab an extra gun.

Does your Glock 19-4 have a #3 recoil spring or a #4? Mine has a #3 which is heavier, I understand now they are putting the lighter #4 spring in them becuase the #3 spring doesn't feed low speed target ammo as well. I shoot Winchester white box in my G-19-4 without a hitch. As a matter of fact it has never failed with any ammo. I carry a little 380 pocket pistol but I am looking at getting one in 9mm. I understand the Ruger LC-9 is a handful...but that's kinda what I want, if you know what I mean. The spring has a number on the end of the spring that points toward to shooter.

by Jimmy Driftwood Along about eighteen and twenty-five I left Tennessee very much alive I never would have got through the Arkansas mud If I hadn't been a-ridin on the Tennessee stud I had some trouble with my sweetheart's pa One of her brothers was a bad outlaw I sent her a letter by my Uncle Fud And I rode away on the Tennessee stud The Tennessee stud was long and lean The color of the sun and his eyes were green He had the nerve and he had the blood And there never was a hoss like the Tennessee stud One day I was ridin' in the beautiful land And ran smack into an Indian band They jerked their knives with a whoop and a yell But I rode away like a bat out of hell Well I circled their camp for a time or two And showed what a Tennessee hoss could do And them redskin boys never got my blood 'Cause I was a-ridin' on the Tennessee stud We drifted on down into no man's land We crossed the river called the Rio Grande I raced my hoss with the Spaniards bold Till I got me a skin full of silver and gold Me and a gambler we couldn't agree We got in a fight over Tennessee We jerked our guns, he fell with a thud And I got away on the Tennessee stud RUSWell, I got as lonesome as a man can be Dreamin' of my girl in Tennessee The Tennessee stud's green eyes turned blue 'Cause he was a-dneamin' of a sweetheart too We loped on back across Arkansas I whipped her brother and I whipped her pa I found that girl with the golden hair And she was ridin' on a Tennessee mare Stirrup to stirrup and side by side We crossed the mountains and the valleys wide We came to Big Muddy and we forded the flood On the Tennessee mare and the Tennessee stud Pretty little baby on the cabin floor Little hoss colt playin' 'round the door I love the girl with golden hair And the Tennessee stud loves the Tennessee mare

I think you left it out in the flower garden from where we we tiptoing through the tulips, while picking panzies, not the manly panzies but the other ones.

Counter Protest - Westboro Baptist Church Monday 2:00pm
Will Carry replied to MrDigitaL's topic in General Chat
The Westboro Baptist Church is just one crazy guy and his zombie kids. They are pushing our first amendment rights way beyond it's limits. Wait a minute LOUD PIPES! THAT'S IT!....Who plays the bagpipes? No one can stand up to bagpipes! Accept Tennessee Volunteers and Andy Jackson. My heart goes out to the family of the fallen Marine. -
Now that 380 ammo is becoming more plentiful I actually have a choice of self defense ammo. Glazer Powerball, PMC Starfire, Federal PP low recoil, Winchester Supreme Elite or should I just use FMJs?

I have a Single Six with a 9.5" barrel. 22 magnums are so much fun to shoot with this pistol that I have never even installed the 22 LR cylinder. I have wanted a Taurus 22 mag snub nose revolver for many years. The muzzle flash it cool as heck at night. You might could get 1300fps out of a 2 inch barrel which will give you a whopping 112 ft/lbs of muzzle energy. I get 200+ ft/lbs from my 9.5 inch barrel. I used to have a High Standard Sentinal Mark II, 2" 22 mag that shot great! I have always come to my senses before dropping the money for a Taurus 22 mag. The new Taurus 22LR/22mag DA revolvers weight 55 ounces! WTF? The Raging Bull 454 Casul weights 51 ounces. I cannot imagine a 22 revolver with a 12 pound trigger that weights 55 ounces. It's like a 22 cailber anvil.

Drug tests for welfare recipients?
Will Carry replied to Raoul's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I am drug tested on a regular basis...so I can get a pay check...I don't do drugs so it's not a problem. I am also a strong supporter of our constitution and bill of rights. I would rather live in a free society where some people do drugs.....than live in the kind of society where the government enslaves it's subjects. BUT you guys do have a point. I have to take a drug test to get MY paycheck...... of course if I was rich, I could do drugs and not worry about a drug test. So I guess in America now you can buy your freedom and rights. This is the 4th ammendment to the constitution: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." -
If you have ever watched a person you love die of a terrible disease, I mean die slow and painful, agony every second............then you might understand. I have and I do. I know suicide is a sin but at times, it doesn't really mean much....oh yeah. Happy Friday. Thanks for bringing back the memories I spent 30 years trying to forget. My wife was 18 years old when she got bone cancer. The cancer would grow inside her bones until they would split open. She fought that battle for 7 years. Death was a God send! You just don't know nothin'

I left Conyers in 1965 when I was in the third grade. I still remeber the Conyers Theater. It was segregated. Black people had to sit in the balcony and were not allowed in the lobby. They had to wait at the lobby door to get popcorn and Cokes. When they intergrated, Mr. Clay had to shut down the theater. The Ku Klux Klan said they would burn the theater if he allowed black people to sit with white people. Mr. Clay sold the theater to a church. Damn those were ...turbulant times.

My father was a veteran of world war two. He fought the Japanese as an infantryman. When he got home they gave him a FREE education. I remeber the Viet Nam vets getting a free ride through college. (I think ALL vets deserve a free education. It levels the playing field). He went to the East Alabama Polytechinical Institue (Auburn). He did so well that they let him go to Emory University and he became country doctor in Conyers Georgia. One night he got called....There was a terrible accident. Some fellow had wrecked his car and was suffering from burns. Dad drove off and came back the next afternoon tired as hell but he had several jars of clear liquid. Many years later when we were watching Hee Haw on TV. Dad spoke up and said "That's the man I helped when he wrecked his car that night!" It was Junior Samples. Junior Samples was a serious race car driver....but he wasn't racing that night. He was hallin' shine. Note: Dad used to come home from house calls with chickens, pigs, moonshine, he even came home once with a Perkins double barrel, percusion cap, shotgun made in London England. I just gave that Shotgun to my sister's son. Those North Georgia folk may have been poor but they were proud.

That is a terrible tragic thing. The LA Times is an anti-Bill of Rights newspaper and I'm sure they were foaming at the mouth to report that there were 53 guns in the home but it only takes one. I blame the man who owned the gun. I have raised four wonderful kids and have two grandchildren. I wish I could say that I never had a loaded gun in my house when children were around but that ain't so............ My father was a country doctor and made what they call "House Calls". He would go to peoples houses in the night when they needed a doctor. He carried a revolver in his bag. A Burgo 22LR. He kept it locked in his desk drawer. I was 5 years old when I figured out how to get his key and unlock the drawer. I will never forget the whoopin' I took...........
