  1. I just looked over the Liberal Gun Club website. It seemed....pretentious? Like...it made me vomit in my mouth and swallow? If I had to choose between the TGO and the LGC? I feel more comfortable with the TGO. I'm not a liberal. You guys and gals are my brothers and sisters.
  2. I am with you. I think for myself. Liberals think I'm conservative and conservatives think I'm liberal. I yam what I yam and that's all I yam.
  3. One basic tactical handgun training class:$200 800 rounds of 9mm Walmart ammo: $216 2 extra G-19 mags: $45 2 days vacation: $375 Knee and elbow pads: $20 Stuff I don't know to buy yet $100 Total=$946 Holy ! Somebody talk me out of this! What's the use of walking around armed if you don't have the training? This $1000 for Defensive Handgun Training is very high. I live on a tight budget. Do I drop the grand or just hope I never need a handgun?
  4. That's what I am talking about. The lack of respect between left and right. The polarization that the media feeds on. It is dividing our country. Only when our country unites and we and our elected representatives start working together, will this country start to make a comeback. Divided we fall.
  5. I have never, in my 55 years, seen this country so divided. We have always had liberals and conservatives, rich and poor. But during the Great Depression (no I ain't that old) everyone was poor. It was a great equalizer. During World War Two the liberals and the conservatives were one the same side and afterward had respect for each other. There ain't no liberal and conservatives in a foxhole. Now the the Greatest Generation is fading in the twilight and NOBODY HAS RESPECT for each other anymore. We are a divided country in turmoil and that is exactly where the enemies of freedom want us. The wolves are gathering at the door boys! They sense a weakness and they are hungry. United we stand, divided we fall. Take a liberal to lunch or something but we must get back together and start acting like a UNITED STATES. "OOOH SAY CAN YOU SEEEE.....everybody.....BY THE DAWN'S EARLY LIGHT......!"
  6. Even Barney Fife could carry a bullet in his pocket. "The right to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed." Citizen's arrest! Citizen's arrest! To quote Josey Wales; "To heck with them fellows. Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms."
  7. Heck yeah! Do they even make caps any more? I remember Greeny Stick'um caps. That was great fun! A hammer, a roll of caps and an imagination. That would keep a kid occupied all day.
  8. That is a nice one. 45 Super is an awesome round. I have never seen a 45 Super. I had to look it up on Midway. 600+ Ft/Lbs of muzzle energy ain't bad. The only manufacturer I saw on Midway was Buffalo Bore and they run about $1 per shot. That's out of my price range. I guess it would pay to reload 45 Super.
  9. In 1969 I was 13 years old. The Viet Nam war was raging and Hippies were calling for peace and love. My Granma in Alabama invited me to come down for a week so Uncle Jack could take me quail hunting. Dad decided to fly me down there. It was my first big trip alone. I dresses in my Sunday suit (people dressed up back then to fly), put my 20 gauge in a soft case and off to airport we went. I walked up and checked my bag but kept my shotgun as a carry on. We walked through the airport to the gate and when I boarded the plane the stewardess said "We'll take your shotgun and let the pilot take care of it for you." and she put the shotgun in the cockpit. When I landed in Atlanta they gave me my shotgun and I walked to the next terminal to catch the plane to Columbus. I boarded the plane again and gave my shotgun to the stewardess, who gave it to the pilot for safe keeping until I landed in Columbus Georgia for the ride the Clayton Alabama. In 1969 a 13 year old kid carrying a shotgun on an airplane was no big deal. Try That today and see how far you get. I did not realize then how free I was. The hunting I will never forget. I don't think I hit a single bird. They scared the heck out of me when the dogs jumped them up and I just shot into the middle of the covey.
  10. I am a blue collar worker and have worked hard all my life. I sent my kids to college and have saved money for retirement. I drive old pick up trucks and live a very frugal lifestyle. I voted for McCain and I will vote Republican next election.
  11. I still think it's a fake. There is a shadow on the stock that looks odd. The camera seems to have been on a tripod, which would make it easier to fake. The camera angle was weird. The hunting vest looks yellow instead of orange. The man didn't look injured enough. I could be wrong but in these times you never know if what your looking at is real or not.
  12. A 1911 is slim and really conceals easily. You will have no problem concealing it. The 1911 will give you good service as it has for our troops for many decades. I have a Colt Government with a 5 inch barrel that is more comfortable to carry than my Glocks or Springfields. It's the single stack magazine that makes it easy to hide. Good luck with your RIA. The only thing complicated is that you have to keep in cocked, with the safety on. When you draw the pistol you must make sure it doesn't snag on your shirt and you have to thumb the safety off after it clears your holster and is pointed at the threat. This does require practice, but that's the fun of it. You will probably never draw your weapon in self defense but you will practice all the time. The 1911 is fun to shoot and fun to tinker with. That being said my 1911 has never been modified. It's just like it came in the box. It has never jammed or failed to go bang. i did put some Crimson Trace laser grips on it.....very cool.
  13. Junior Johnson came out with a version of his families moonshine, it's called Midnight Moon or something. It is very smooth white moonshine but it's watered down to 80 proof. I won't drink anything much over 80 proof. It says you have to be 21 years old to enter his website so I can't. I'mm 55. http://www.juniorsmidnightmoon.com/airpress/wp-content/plugins/age-verification/age-verification.php?redirect_to=http://www.juniorsmidnightmoon.com%2F
  14. That is one tricked out rifle dude. What's in the glass? It looks like orange juice. Old no. 7 is known all over the world. I enjoy it myself once and a while.
  15. You really have gone down that twisting path. Don't feel too bad. Firearms retain a lot of value. You can spend $550 on an XD or Glock, use it for a year and sell it for $450. So you really only spent $100 for the gun. You will shoot several hundred in ammo. That's what gets you.
  16. I don't think it is a sin to protect yourself. I carry too.
  17. I have the 9mm too. It has never failed from the first round to around 200, so far. This gun is a lot of fun for $280. I understand Hi-Point is coming out with a 15 round magazine but I have not seen it yet. I have my laser dialed in at 25 yards, which is supposed to line it up at 100 yards too.
  18. You recon that video was photo shopped? I mean really. I think it's a well made fake like that Crocodile eating the bungee jumper. Look at the video in slow motion, at the end when they replay it in slow motion. The gun barrel seems to move and it seems fuzzy. I say it's a fake. The camera angle, subject matter, the only thing that does make sense is that it's bogus. I could be wrong.
  19. I'm all about Liberal. Liberal amounts of freedom from big government. Liberal amounts of freedom from oppressive laws and legislation. Liberal amounts of freedom to protect myself from enemies both foreign and domestic. I want to hold hands and buy the world a Coke!
  20. If this has been posted before I apologize. Just make sure your liberal friends understand that the second amendment is not for hunters or target shooting. It is for protection. To say a rifle should be outlawed because it can't be used for deer hunting is unconstitutional.
  21. I sent my Mark III for Volquartsen to have it Farfegnugened. It is now a Mark II with a 3 lb trigger. Awesome, but not cheap.
  22. I travel light and travel fast. No packs.
  23. Have you driven around the area? A co-worker of mine bought this huge house for dirt cheap. I asked him where it was. When he told me I was shocked. It was right down the street from the Hells Angles compound and on the other side was da Hood. He was from out of town and had not bothered to drive around the area. He sold the house 6 months later at a loss.
  24. Now that's funny! I don't care what anybody says.......
  25. I have by no means explored all the Wildlife Management Areas in Tennessee. I've walked Land Between the Lakes, Catoosa, Cheatham and North Cumberland. Catoosa is my favorite so far although they are all great places to get into the bush.
