"Knockout King" "game" kids are playing
Will Carry replied to MattCary's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Situational awareness. Those little devils are very dangerous, do not under estimate them. "Now remember, when things look bad and it looks like you're not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean. I mean plumb, mad-dog mean. 'Cause if you lose your head and you give up then you neither live nor win. That's just the way it is." Josey Wales -
I don't know what to make of this. They want you to watch two guys beat each other to death, but guns and knives are bad? Am I missing something? There’s a report circulating on the internet that Ultimate Fighting Championships, a popular mixed-martial arts sport, will no longer allow its participants to be sponsored by shooting- and hunting-related companies. UFC is owned by Zuffa LLCHere’s the report, which comes from the website, themmacorner. (Similar reports have surfaced on other MMA sites.)“The MMA Corner has learned that the ban includes companies related to guns, knives, ammunition, and hunting. It will go into effect on Jan. 23. The ban has been extended to all UFC events, not just those broadcast on the Fox family of networks.”We contacted the UFC press room at the address provided on its website to give the company an opportunity to respond, but no comment was received by the deadline we gave them. The website Cage Potato says UFC told them “These are rules set in place by Fox” but issued no further comment. Fox has the rights to televise many UFC events.According to MMA Corner and other outlets, UFC fighters have been sponsored by Las Vegas-based The Gun Store. Further, companies such as ammunition maker ATK have used UFC fighters to promote its products.UFC also seems to have a strong following among some segments of the shooting and hunting communities. If you’re a fan, will you continue to watch UFC fights? So don't take your son hunting and teach him about nature, responsiblitiy, heritage and freedom. Set him in front of the TV and let him watch two guys beat the out of each other instead.

I have a Walther P-22. I runs great and is fun to shoot but you will not win any shooting matches with it. Ruger tends to copy a design and make it better. I own more Rugers than any other brand. They are just well made fire arms. I'm going to wait on the SR22 until they work the kinks out, they may have done so already. BUT I will probably add one to my collection. I carry a Colt Government Model IWB. I have three or four holsters that I wear. The 1911 is slim for it's size and carries comfortably. I have a shoulder holster also but I only wear it in the woods.

Freedom is worth fighting for. We had to fight to get it and we'll have to fight to keep it. If you have never fought for your freedom, you probably aren't free.

Anti-gun protest at Starbucks on Valentine's Day
Will Carry replied to LagerHead's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I can't understand why the NGAC (Nashville Golf and Athletic Club) would boycott Starbucks? It just don't make any sense! -
Concealed carry holder shoots Waffle House robber in SC.
Will Carry replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -- An armed robber was killed by a customer at an Upstate Waffle House early Saturday, according to Spartanburg County deputies. The shooting happened at the Waffle House on Chesnee Highway just after 1 a.m.According to an incident report, two armed men entered the restaurant and tried to rob it. A customer in the Waffle House, who is a concealed weapon permit holder, was also armed with a handgun and attempted to hold the suspects at gunpoint until law enforcement could arrive, deputies said.Deputies said one of the robbery suspects pointed his gun at the customer, and the customer then shot the man, who died on the scene."The gentlemen said it scared him. He thought he was gonna die, so he shot the armed robbery suspect," said Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright.

The suspect has been identified by the Spartanburg County coroner as 19-year-old Dante Lamont Williams. of Roebuck, SC.An autopsy was scheduled for later on Saturday.According to officials, the other suspect is still on the loose. Officials said no one else was hurt. The Spartanburg County Violent Crimes Unit is investigating.Wright said he made the decision not to release the name of the customer who shot and killed the suspect. Wright said he wants to protect the customer and his family from possible retaliation by the second robber who has not been identified and is still at large.Wright said the unknown robber is to be considered armed and dangerous since he was involved in an attempted armed robbery where a handgun was used. Wright said customers could only describe the second suspect as a black man wearing a mask.Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.The incident follows Wright's recent encouragement to citizens to get concealed weapons permits and to arm themselves against criminals."This guy defended his life and the life of others at the Waffle House by law and by the Constitution. We will not be charging this gentleman," Wright said. (Read More) Read more: Deputies: Waffle House Patron Shoots, Kills Armed Robber - Greenville News Story - WYFF Greenville -
I'm seriously thinking about popping one and cleaning it out. The breast look bigger than a quail's. I will post as to how they taste. If they were any good people would eat more of them.
-
Just wondering because my back yard is full of them. These things have huge breasts. They must be good to eat.

Chuck Norris didn't win 6 middle weight, full contact karate championships by knowing some ancient Chinese secret. He won them because he mastered the basics and because he worked hard and trained harder. He retired with a record of 183 wins, 10 losses and 2 ties. He was lucky enough to make money in Hollywood even though he couldn't act. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Mr. Norris. Newt Gingrich on the other hand...........I would vote for him before I would vote for Mitt (the Corprate Ax Man) Romney.

This is an excellent post! I know exactly what the OP is talking about. I guy at my shooting range was telling a customer,"We don't sell Ruger semi-autos or Springfield XDs because of all the problems they have with quality. We only sell quality firearms." I just about tripped over my jaw but I didn't say anything until the customer left. Then I had a talk with the sales rep. He tried to defend his statement that Ruger semi-autos and Springfield XDs would break all the time, but I ain't no pilgram................That saled repno longer works there.

I really like my LC-9 which delvers 7+1 9mm rounds. I also like the XD line of pistols. I own an XD-45 and XDm-40. For now I will keep carrying the LC-9. I bought a Glock 36 but did not like it and sold it. I will keep an eye on this pint size 45 because I like the concept.

Ron Paul Gets Ignored By The Media Again!
Will Carry replied to RobertNashville's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think you're right. Ron Paul is not presidential. He has zero chance of ever becoming president, I just like what he says about individual liberties, small government and adherance to our constitution and bill of rights. Maybe I'm a closet Libertarian. -

Ron Paul Gets Ignored By The Media Again!
Will Carry replied to RobertNashville's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Ron Paul is pro second amendment and pro individual freedom. That scares the heck out of the powers that be. Republican flavored and Democratic flavored. That is why the media is ignoring Ron Paul. The less freedom we have the more we sit home and watch TV and surf on the internet. Mitt Romney would ban firearms if he thought it would get him elected. I am not a political commentator and I could be wrong. I usually am when it comes to politics. -
Has it ceased to be? Is it......dead? The Gun Directory is/was a website for gun reviews that was having troubles.

It seems that in a situation where the attacker is danger close, you are in deep do do. All the bad guy had to do in that video is reach with his left hand and punch with his right. (A "knife hand" to the throat will end a fight and it is faster than drawing a gun) I know the instructor did it in slow motion for the camera and in real life he would have been formidable but it really hits home that when you let an attacker get that close you better be good, or try to get distance on him (That means RUN!). Thanks for posting that.

I like Ron Paul. I'll vote for him. Mitt Romney is a corporate ax man. Pink Slip Mitt. I don't trust him.

I'm taking a handgun self defense class in a few weeks. So I have a question. What are the advantages of the 4 point draw system? I'm not challenging the validity of the method, I'm really trying to learn.

I used a an XD-45. I could have used a slingshot and passed. This ain't no Army marksmanship test. Your XDm-40 is a fantastic pistol. I own one myself. It will give you good service. When I took my test, I pretended like every shot was a do or die shot. I was dead serious! But the little old lady next to me started shooting at the wrong target (she passed) . The young man on the other side had an $800 target pistol (he beat me). WTF! This is a test to see how you would do in a self defense situation, treat it as such. Take this test with all seriousnesss. Do not worry about failing. You cannot fail unless you shoot the instructor..........
