1. By the time buy 200 rounds to shoot through it to break it in, you could have bought the Ruger LC9. My LC9 has never failed from the first shot. I love the little pistol, even if the trigger is longer than "War And Peace".
2. I would go center mass. It would be cool if someone on this post could do a little experiment on ballistics and winter clothing. I would love to know how many layers of winter clothing it takes to stop a handgun round. There must be some research already available on the net.
3.
Will, how do you know any of this? Were you one of those laid off? I don't have anything with collective bargaining but it isn't the workers who came up with the product, and it's certainly not up to them as to how it's marketed. From the stories I read, most of the employees voted to take a pay cut and whatever else to keep the business rolling, but one union voted to not accept the terms offered by the company. I also doubt the executives will make a dime going through bankruptcy. A bargaining in good faith is just that. How can a company invest in new technology if it can't pay its existing bills? They can't just keep on borrowing to make a payroll. That's too much like the federal government. What does China or Ronald Reagan have to do with this? Companies are failing or reducing workforce all over this country right now, and Hostess' problems have been known for a while. They have been keeping the doors open for possibly too long, already. I guess I'm what you call a blue collar worker, also, and I have to go through contract negotiations, just like they did. If it meant to keep the doors open or close, I would have most likely gone along, just to have a job. It's the company's responsibility to turn a profit. It's the employees' job to do their job at a reasonable wage. No one said they had any other right, other than what they negotiated, and, if the company had negotiated in good faith and the union rejected it, all bets are off. They(unions) were bluffing in their negotiations because they didn't really think the company would close it's doors. Their bluff was called. No one is trashing unions, well give me a moment and I might, but the tail only wags the dog in Hollywood.
I liked your response. Hostess was doomed before the strike even happened. Blaming unions has become a knee jerk reaction, we do it without even thinking. Even if the unions had not gone on strike, the Twinky's days were numbered. Cutting employee benefits and wages would not have saved the company. The owners of the company will sell the rights, and get rich, to a company that is capable of making a profit off the brands (Mexican). 4. Didn't he say he was from another planet? A magical mysterious place where there is no violence. I live in Durham.............I'll keep my handgun.
5. I figured someone would use this as an opportunity to blast the unions. In this case the unions did not cause this. Merrita management failed miserably. They did not reinvest in new equipment and new technology that could have saved the company. They lacked the marketing savvy to sell their product. They used their profits to fatten their wallets and they were trying to save money by robbing the hourly workers of their hard earned wages and their pensions (future). It's so easy to blame the unions. This time that just isn't so. In a free market society, companies who fail to innovate and market their product are going to fail. Unions or not. China doesn't have unions they have what's called Slave Labor. They have employees jumping off the roofs to get away from the hell they live in. I'm am a firm believer in a free market economy and collective bargaining. Like Ronald Regan said "Where free unions and collective bargaining are forbidden, freedom is lost." I have been a blue collar worker since 1977. I have never been in a union because I have worked in the south. To keep the unions out of the south we were given wages and benefits commensurate with the union workers. For that I am greatful.
6. Thanks for posting that review. The Colt New Agent is near the top of my wish list.
7. Here is a good article compairing the 30-30 to the .357 magnum lever actions. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2011/05/chris-dumm/lever-action-ballistics-30-30-vs-357-magnum/
8. TWO Thumbs up on the Glock 19. Don't listen to the whiners. Get the Glock 19. It is a truly great side arm. It will shoot where you aim it and it will never fail you. "Waaaaa! The grip angle isn't right" "Waaaaaa! The trigger is weird!" "Waaaa! The sights are funny" "Waaaa! It's plastic!" "Waahaaahaaaa! It's not made in America!"
9. Cats that look like hitler?
10. I had trouble at first but now I can break it down and reassemble it with no hassle at all. The more you do it the easier it gets.
11. Just use a small amount of grease. Any grease that is built up around the rail, is not doing anything. I grease my rail, work the action a few times, then wipe off any extra.
12. Let me guess.....you have a Kahr?

New ink

No dude. I'm just joking! I don't think anyone should be allowed to get tattoos!
14. Will Carry

New ink

That should be the only tatoo allowed by law and given only to Marines. OK the Navy can have an anchor but that's it. The Air Force Pararescue team can have their "Green Feet" tatoo also.
15. I have been ugly all my life. When I was 16 years old I could go into a liquor store and by booze, not because I looked 21 but because the clerk didn't want to see a the picture on my drivers license. "Are you 21?" he asked. "You want to see my ID?" "NO NO! I'll take yer word for it..."
16. I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you From the movie Taken
17. I have never heard of a pocket pistol class but it sure makes sense. Have you ever tried drawing from your pocket while sitting down? Or crouched behind cover? I had one instructor tell me that a pocket pistol should be used one handed. I would take a class in "tactical pocket pistol"!
18. Which Lowes and Home Depot? At my age it might be worth it.
19. I train with and without lazers. They will not make you a better shot but they could save you life, under certain circumstances.
20. I am not allowed to keep a gun at work, even if it's locked in my car. That also means that driving to and from work I don't carry. Sometimes when I go creek fishing I don't carry because I fall in the creek once and a while and don't want to get my gun wet. Otherwise I always carry where the law allows.
21. If you have ever watched a loved one die of cancer, any cancer, then pink wouldn't bother you.
22. All I can say is "Watch out Billy Bass!"
23. You can unload a snubby by squeezing the trigger 5 times......just sayin.
24. I watched CNN report on it this morning. It made me cringe. It was obvious they knew nothing about firearms. They seem to be holding on to the common myth amongst the antigun people that guns just go off for no reason.
25. I recommend buying a hunting/sporting shotgun. One that you can hunt with and shoot clays with. I see a lot of people buying these "tactical" shotguns that are truely POS and they are not good at shooting clays or hunting game. You buy a nice sporting shotgun that shoots well and you can use it for home defense too. You have a higher chance of being struck by lightning than having to defend your home with a shotgun so you may as well get one that will hunt.
