The original problem with the gen 4 was it had the same recoil spring as the .40 and it was too stiff for some ammo to eject well. That problem has been fixed. If you did have the stiff RSA they will send you a new one.  I would say that the gen 4 is now problem free. The grip is kind of boxy but the back straps do help. The grip texture is like little spikes but it will toughen up your hands. The trigger is not a refined target trigger, but I have pulled worse. All in all there is only one outstanding feature on this pistol. It's rugged reliability.

Get the one with a pony on the slide. 

I love the movies! I grew up in a small southern town with one movie theater. I grew up in the 60s and spent many a Saturday afternoon watching movies. I will always go the the movies. I don't care if popcorn and sodas cost $15.    Stallone wrote one of the greatest movies ever made "Rocky" but he has lost his edge. He's taking steriods and he's old and scary looking. I think the steriods have effected his brain. I will not buy a ticket to see Stallone now that he's come out against the US Constitution and it's ammendments.

I bought the Glock 19 gen 4 when they first came out. The ones with the stiff RSA (recoild spring assembly). They sent me a new RSA for free. Even with the stiff RSA this pistol never jammed. I have been shooting it for a couple of years now. I have shot a couple or three thousand rounds through it. Never failed. When I take a training class, it's the pistol I carry.  It goes with me on my side and is on my bed stand at night. I shoot Winchester Whitebox at the range and carry Wincgester Supreme Elite 124gr +P.

Let me get this straight. Obama wants to subvert the second amendemnt rights for millions of Americans to save one child's life, but if a child gets killed in a drone strike he says " :poop:  happens."

I have seen this magician's trick used by the media before, when they were filming Muslims protesting. They announce "There were THOUSANDS of protesters marching in Washington DC." Then they show film footage of protesters. The film footage that I am seeing shows no more than a few dozen to maybe a couple of hundred. They do this to create the illusion that there were thousands of people marching, when it truth, the numbers were not there. If there had really been thousands of people in Washington, they would have filmed from a higher location and panned the crowd to show it's immenseness. What they did was shoot low angle shots of the protestors so you really couldn't tell how many there were. Unless someone can give me some concrete numbers or better film footage, I would say that the turn out was much less than expected. The liberal media does not want us to know that so they "wagged the dog" on us. With less than expected support for gun control and gun sales sky rocketing, I see a weakness that can be exploited. IMHO, a lot of Americans are turning away from the anti-gun crowd. If we keep the pressure on we can win this fight. Even on CNN's website their video shows a few hundreds of protestors at the most. I see one shot where there might be 500 people in it. Have gun Will Carry.

You asked for help from other shooters.  What kind of pistol did you buy?  When you select a training class, the instructor will tell you what you need to know. It sounds like you have had some military experiance.  You need to buy a "Range Bag" to carry your pistol to and from the range. Do you have a cleaning kit? Ear protection and eye protection?  In my range bag I keep 1) a cleaning kit 2) first aid kit 3) ear protection 4) Safety Glasses 5) ammo 6) Pistol 7) spare magazines 8) electricians tape 9) Sharpie marker 10) Pen 11) paper 12) tool kit 13) Pocket knife 14) Flash light.   You may also want to buy a holster for it. Learn the 4 basic rules of gun safety and practice handling your unloaded pistol with your trigger finger pointed straight and outside the trigger guard. The first sign that a shooter is untrained is if he/she puts their finger inside the trigger guard.   Good luck Hombre! You will do well.

Just drop the militia part, that's the part the some people seem to have a problem with.   We hold the right of the people to bare arms to protect themselves as self evident. ? Maybe? or   The right of the people to keep and bare arms or Phasers set on Obliterate, shall not be infringed.

You got that right! I will never buy another either.  You guys make good sense as usual.  I'd dying to try it out though. In a few years we will be replacing it and then I'm gonna test it with some live ammo.

WAIT FOR IT! STEADY MEN!    The fact the gun stores are empty and gunshows have crowds never seen before indicate that the Anti-gun people are dead wrong. Most Americans support the second amendment or all the non-gun owners would not be flocking to gun stores to exercise their 2nd amendment rights. We need to be steady and maintain discipline.  The Battle of Stones River was lost when a bunch a Ridge Runners failed to exercise military discipline when Bragg attacked the union left flank. We need to be smart, learn the enemy and defeat them. As far a camo is concerned, wear whatever you like. You'll never see me wearing camo......get it?

I think you nailed it. Imagine going to your doctor and saying, "Gee Doc, I've been a little depressed lately."  He writes it down and puts it in a data base, which the government gets. NO GUN FOR YOU!  So does that mean the people who are having problems have to make a choice between exercising their 2nd amendment rights and getting help for an emotional issue, drinking problem or mild depression? Where do you draw the line? Who makes the call whether a citizen is incompetent to own a gun?

   I have a Tempur Pedic king size mattress in my bedroom and was wondering if it would stop a bullet?  I am not curious enough to see for myself but was wondering if using a big mattress for cover was a futile gesture?
