  1. I have a Henry Big Boy in .357 magnum.  It's a quality piece.  Smooth action, accurate and purdy.
  2. Keep one in the chamber.

  4.   I can't go back to Tennessee.
  5. I wish I lived in Tennessee. Click on the state and get an overview. Notice that the more liberal states score lower and New York is at the bottom.   http://freedominthe50states.org/overall
  6. Are those Bisley Grips? The look awesome!
  7. Thanks Richard! That's some good shooting. Growing up, I never used anything but iron sights. I used to take my dad's Springfield out to the sorghum field and shoot up to 500 yards.  I got pretty good at it. I didn't set up targets but would shoot at Fire Ant mounds and such.  Now days everyone has to have a scope to shoot 50 yards. I still hunt with a Winchester 30-30 and feel comfortable shooting up to 100-150 yards, which is rare.
  8. Soooooo...What's wrong with Davidson County? I left Nashville in 1982 and haven't been back, but as I remember, it was a good place to live..... If you like cities.
  9. When I carry my 5 shot model 36 Chief's Special I do feel under gunned. I am comforted by the knowledge that there is no other gun that I can draw and fire faster. I own over 2 dozen hand guns and the Chief's Special has proven to be easy to grab and quicker to point and fire than any of the rest. I can hit what I'm shooting at too. With that said, I still feel under gunned when I carry it, compared to my Glock 19 or XD-45.
  10. It's good to here from you dude. Many young people on this forum might think you are a nut, but I know different. You told it just like it was.  It's hard to believe it was so long ago. I was pulled one day in Tennessee in 1975. I was told that I could pay the $50 fine in cash to the LEO, or I was going to be arrested. I told the guy I only had 25 bucks and need enough to buy gas to get home. He took the twenty out of my wallet and told be I could go. Mother Puss Bucket! I have never been back to Polk County since.
  11. Those people won't be happy until we are all safe. That's right, we will all be safe when we loose all of our rights and have to stay home when we ain't working. When we have curfews and check points and people search our homes and we have to have permits to travel. You know like in Nazi Germany or Communist Russia. Those people were really safe.  I say NO I WILL NOT GIVE UP MY RIGHTS and I will keep my guns and my freedoms.
  12. I earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do in 1974 from Young Il Kong.  It's a good thing they don't take'em back. I don't recon I am worthy to call myself a black belt any more. I usually don't mention it.          I was down at Myrtle Beach South Carolina back in 1975, three of my pals and I. We came across 4 Marines just out of Paris Island. Well one of my buddies has a chip on his shoulder becuase he was short and he was always pickin fights and sure enough he picked a fight with the 4 Marines. One of the Marines charged at me, it scared the heck out of me so I took off running.  He chased me through parking lots, back alleys and chain linked fences and I knew he was going to catch me sooner or later so I spun around and kicked him in the nuts and beat him about the head. He went down and the fight was over. We made friends and on the way back he said, "If I had known I was gonna get whopped I wouldn't have chased you so hard."  We went back into a bar and I bought him drinks. (Back then you could drink at 18). The other guys had not even thrown a punch.   The best thing about martial arts was it got me away from the neighborhood kids. When they got busted for DUI and possession of a controled substance, I was not with them. I was dating a wonderful young lady and going to school in Nashville. I thank God for that.
  13. The people of North Korea are suffering terribly. I pray for them.
  14.   The recoil is not an issue. It's not bad even with hot Black Hills or Buffalo Bore ammo.  Sometimes the pistol gets so hot that you burn your fingers unloading and reloading. You can iron your shirts with it.  38 special just goes POOF. No recoil at all.
  15. I'm really liking this Bisley Vaquero .357. The hammer spur is lowered for easy access, it has a wide "target" trigger that is light and smooth and it has the Bisley grip, developed by Colt. The fixed sights are outstanding, offering an excellent sight picture. I was shooting WWB 110gr .357 JHPs today. I don't really like the 110gr load but that's what I had. I preffer a 158gr for target shooting and 125 JHPs for social work.
  16. A 1997 Toyota Corolla with 200K miles.
  17. I have studied that battle in depth. The Japanese, in one brilliant move, negated our massive array of naval guns and air power. They moved underground. Our 16 inch battleship guns and 1000lb bombs were of little effect. Our Sherman Tanks, not suited for this kind of work. It came down to a marine with a rifle, flame thrower, satchel charges and courage.  It was the closest thing to hell that any man ever experienced (until Okinawa).   History gives the casualties as 6,800 dead, 26,000 wounded. I have the figure much higher. Probably 8000-9000 dead 30,000-40,000 wounded or dissabled.  (It's they way the counted back then)  KIAs were the ones dead on the battlefield, they did not count thoses who died from their wounds after being taken off the island. The  WIAs were those wounded by enemy fire. It did not count on the job injuries, sickness, back injuries, trench foot, broken legs and other injuries not related to enemy fire and the did not include battle fatigue (PTSD).   All of the Japanese WIA became KIA. That's is why the casualty figures seem so lopsided. If you add all Marine casualties KIAs and WIAs and compare it with all Jap KIAs and WIAs. The Japs got better than 2 for 1.  General Howlin Mad Smith wanted a 10 day naval bombardment and he wanted the Navy to use thier time delayed armor peircing 16 inch rounds to destroy the underground bunker complexes. The Navy told General Smith that THEY were the experts in shore bombardment and they would have the island destroyed in three days. General Smith was Howlin' mad but the invasion went on.  The Japanese were ordered not to do any suicidal Banzi charges either.
  18. I have a Henry in .357. It's a great lever action rifle, for what it is. It is not a 30-30. It drops about 6 inches at 175 yards. Zero at 100 yards.  I choose the .357 over the 44 mag. The Henry has an octagonal barrel and is barrel heavy but it is very accurate and the hottest .357 buffalo Bore ammo just goes POOF. Very little recoil. 38 special recoil is like shooting a 22.
  19. She must have really stunk up the place!  "Oh my God! Somebody get the liscense number of that car and open the windows!"
  20. Shotgun Joe is going to make America safe....Of course you just shot your neighbor's dog because the pizza guy got the wrong address.  What a wanker! He's just one heartbeat away..................
  21. This was made by Rio Grande Custom Grips. You can even send them a photo and they will put it on a grip for you. 1911s and Ruger SA.
  22. This guy is an atheist, a liberal, and is against any anti-gun legislation.  Some of the things he says makes me cringe, but buy gosh he's a liberal who supports the 2nd amendment.  He says that the he has been thrown under the bus, for opposing gun bans. If I had a choice as to which liberal to be neighbors with, it would be this atheist SOB.       http://www.michaelzwilliamson.com/blog/item/the-post-in-which-i-piss-off-everybody
  23. Brilliant! It's like Saturday Night Live of the 80's. Bass-o-Matic Lives!
  24.     I am so tired of going to Walmart and finding the shelves empty of ammo. There are 4 Walmarts that I go to. I got so fed up that I went to Gander Mountain and bought their over priced ammo.  Then I had a hunch. I have been going to the same Walmarts has the hoarders. So I picked a Walmart in the roughest most gang infested part of town. A place the hoarder would not go and I scored big. They had 4 100rds boxes of WWB in 45acp, which I bought two and left two for the next guy, I also bought a box of 380, 357 and 38sp +P. The prices were outstanding. 40 cents a round for 45acp. They did not have any 9mm.    I do not hoard ammo I keep a few hundred rounds of each caliber and that's it.
  25. Every post you make on a gun forum can and will be used against you in a court of law.  Every web site you click on and every e-mail you send can be used against you in a court of law. OR they can just say "screw it" and ransack your house. George Orwell was right.
