  1. The painting by Norman Rockwell speaks for itself.
  2. You hit the nail on the head. Keep the masses numb and they won't notice when their individual rights are gone, then they won't care.    The Colorado state motto : KMPH KMPH....DUDE...KMPH KMPH.....HERE....
  3. Why is it that, all of the sudden, gay people have the moral high ground?  Some basketball player comes out of the closet and he's all over the news and the president of the United States comes on TV and congratulates him for smokin a pole.  It's like being Gay is tantamount to sainthood.  I have a message for you, gay people are justed as sinful as heterosexuals. We all deserve to be treated equally. The president never called me for fathering a child.....I have no problem letting all boys join the BSA.
  4. It just depends on how much of a mess you want to clean up. If you shoot a guy and he runs out of your house to bleed, that's a plus. If you blast a guy at close range with a self defense 12 gauge, there's going to be a mess. You won't be able to clean it up until the police finish their investigation, by then everything will have started to congeal. Your home will never be the same....but you will be alive!   I prefer a Remington model 870 (nothing fancy) and number one buck shot. Keep your .40 too.
  5. There are 50,000 new laws in this country every year. Sooner or later we will all be criminals and have no rights. The "Po-Po" will be able to pick us up any time for any thing. Freedom and Liberty will be something we read about in old history books, if they don't burn them all.   Don't get me wrong. I am not condoning driving drunk. Driving drunk is irresponsible and can get people hurt or killed. Becuase I carry concealed I cannot have any alcohol in my system at all.  If I drink at all it will be one or two before diner.
  6. WOW! That was great! It holds as true today as it did in 1948.  Ameirca is polarized and fighting each other, we are devided.
  7. I carry inside the waist ban (IWB). I have a number of holsters from Crossbreed Super Tuck to Uncle Mike's. To tell you the truth my $15 Uncle Mikes is one of my favorites. There is no telling which pistol I might be carrying. I also sometimes carry an LC9 or P-238 in my vest pocket or a DB380 in my pants pocket.
  8. Plastic is fantastic! If I could only have one 9mm it would be a Glock 19 but I have several 9s. I really like my CZ-75 SP-01. It's all steel (Steel is ideal) 18 round magazine, night sights, well built.
  9. Iwo Jima was a battle that was won by Marines with rifles, satchel charges, flame throwers and guts.  The Japanese negated our superiority in naval power, air power and armor.  They went underground. It was an aweful battle which no one who made it out alive was ever they same.
  10. That is what I was looking for. Thanks. This is something the media seemed to overlook.
  11.      Of the ten most poisonous creatures in the world, seven of them live in Australia. I like the Aussies but the anti-gun people keep shoving Australia down my throat.  Does someone have any crime statistics that repute the anti's propaganda that Australia is some kind of Utopia now that they have banned most firearms? Sure thay haven't had any mass shootings but what about home invasions, rape and murder?
  12. I always recommend to people buying a 1911 to get a Colt. Though there are many fine 1911 out there, the one with the pony on the slide is the original.  The problem is finding one. I have a basic no frills Colt Government series 80.  It's a honey. 100% reliable and a good shooter. In my humble opinion Kimbers are overrated.   http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=15201
  13. I have a Mark III Hunter tricked out by Volquartsen. The trigger is between 2-3lbs. Awesome. I have the magazine safety removed and the loaded chamber indicator removed.  It's my show pistol.
  14. I went to one of those Northern Diners in Massachusetts once. I ordered a glass of ice tea. The waitress said "Here ya go Reb" hand handed me a glass of ice, a pot of hot water and a tea bag. I kid you not!
  15. In Durham County NC, if they declare a "State of Emergency" then your constitutional rights are put on hold. They developed this "State of Emergency" after Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated and rioters burned down the Rhodes Furniture store in West Durham.  In 1996, after Hurricane Fran, they declared another State of Emergency. We had 4 vehicles with canoes and kayaks on top and were headed to a local river and were pulled over by cops who told us :"The rivers are closed. You cannot go paddling!"  "They then explained to us that in a State of Emergency you do not have the right to assemble nor the right to travel freely."  After a spirited arguement where I thought we would get arrested, the cops let up and let us go. All we wanted to do was paddle down a river...............   The men who wrote our Constitution and Bill of Rights, knew what they were doing. They were much wiser than any "Talking Head' alive today. There is nothing old fashion or out dated about individual rights. We cannot comprimise with an enemy that is bent of destroying our freedoms and our way of life.
  16. Nathan Bedford Forest told his men to send their swords home to hang on the mantle piece where they belonged.  Although he carried a sword he capture from a Yankee. He said they were next to useless in combat and just got in the way when not in use. He preferred a brace of revolvers.
  17. New Jersey banned Hollow Point ammunition.  I never understood the reasoning behind that so I have presumed that the law makers in New Jersey don't know anything about firearms. They think a Barret .50 is an anti-aircraft rifle that shoots heat seaking missles.
  18. What! No pics?
  19. I would have let them search my home in this case. Of course where I live everyone is armed, we all have dogs, we look out for each other.  We have each other's phone numbers.
  20.  If I had to pick a favorite it would be my Ruger Bisley Vaquero .357 magnum.  Only because it will out shoot your $2000 Wilson Combat 1911. It is uncanny that an old single action wheel gun with fixed sights is so accurate.
  21. Made in Jackson Tennessee! I bought 4 of these lures and they threw in an extra for free! A Buzz Whammy! That was such a nice gesture I thought I would give them a plug on TGO. Billy Philips died a while back and we thought the Double Whammy was gone forever but as of March, they are back in business. In the 1990s I went fishing for the first time at Lake Mattamuskeet in Eastern North Carolina. We stopped at a local bait shop and I asked the guy, "What are they catchin'em on here?" He handed me two Double Whammys and said ,"You can't get these at Walmart." I proceded to catch the biggest bass I have ever caught with one of these and have caught scores of bass with them since. It's a spoon with a hook welded to it, with a skirt and an inline spinner. They don't call it weedless but it can be cranked through the brush and lilly pads really well. It is the best spinner ever made.

  22. Southern white men are easy targets. They pick on us, question our intelligence, our affordable housing, our heritage, they call US racists. But when they need soldiers to fight a war, while they sit back and watch it on CNN......we are HEROES.
  23.     They are back in production again. They stopped making them after Billy went to meet his maker but the company is now back to making lures again.  The Double Whammy is one of my all time favorite bass lures. The biggest bass I ever caught was on a Double Whammy.....12lbs! ............OK is was only 8lbs but it was still a big'un.
  24. Hallelujah! He is risen!
  25. My Big Boy .357 is a hoot to shoot.  It's dead on at 100 yards. Drops 6" at 175 yards.  Depending on the loads.  38 specials feed well and have zero recoil, they just go "poof". .357 have very little recoil and offer some stopping power to boot. The Henry loads from the muzzle through the tube, it does not have a loading gate. It loads faster than using a loading gate but you can't do it in the prone position. The rifle's octoganal barrel make the rifle barrel heavy but that is the only drawback I can see and it does tame the recoil very well.
