  1. I wish they would make a smooth bore Circuit Judge for .410 only. Then you wouldn't have the "donut effect" with the shot pattern.
  2.   I think the 45acp would be a better choice than the 9mm.  It has been effective I the past.
  3. HOLY........! That bees one ugly weapon.
  4. There was this exchange student from Pakistan studying Agronomy at Auburn University where my sister works. He and his wife are Muslim. His wife decided that she was going grocery shopping but she doesn't speak or read English very well.  She picked up a Pork Tenderloin by mistake. She didn't catch what she had done until it was cooked and her husband was sitting at the table. She served it and told her husband it was Veal. He loved it! When he asked her to serve it again she told him that she didn't believe in eating Veal. She told my sister this after they had become friends and she learned to speak English.
  5. I use a Crossbreed or a cheap Uncle Mike's. I know it sounds crazy since I have a grocery sack full of holsters I have bought over the years. I always come back to the Uncle Mike's.
  6. A 45acp hardball is not a one shot stopper......but it's better than the 9mm FMJ.  If the military must use FMJ ammo, then let them use the 45acp.
  7. I like the Tanto blade and I carry a SOG Flash II. It's a great work knife.
  8. That's a nice snubby.  It will do you proud.
  9. I like to pretend that I know all about the various 1911s being offered today and then tell you that if you buy a 1911 it should have a pony on the slide, because that's what I have. A Colt government model 1991-A1 series 80. That's right, a series 80.......it is 100% reliable.
  10. I have heard that stuff before.  I usually say "Why not?" Then we get into a discussion about guns and safety. I had a guy tell me "I have a Black Belt and I don't need a gun to protect myself."  One thing I learned earning my black belt was, that belt won't keep you from getting whipped much less shot.  I have been whipped by a white belt, they forgot to tell him he wasn't supposed to beat up the instructor. The kid was a boxer. He was so fast! In Tae Kwon Do we were taught to block punches a boxer dodges punches. I'm getting off topic..................     "Because a policeman is too heavy to carry."
  11. If it has "Cats Eyes" it is a Pit Viper (Rattlesnake, Copperhead, Cotton Mouth). If it has round pupils it is non-poisonous. You can see the eyes from a safe distance, depending on your eye sight.
  12. I love me some Sushi. I have eaten snails, snake, Armadillo, turtle, grasshoppers, chitterlings, Chicken blood, and Agave worm. I was grateful to God for it all, accept the Agave worm. I just wish we had a recipe for Fire Ants.
  13. Polishing reduces the surface area of the metal. Bead blasting increases the surface area. That doesn't answer your question but it is true. I bet I have the same scratch on my Colt 1911 in S.S.. I have tried polishing it out but like SingleStack said.....
  14. I used to be...but I got help. I have an associate degree in Electronics and one in Electrical Engineering Technology from Nashville Tech. I don't do much soldering any more though.
  15. I'm going to have to go with the wheel gun. The grip on a wheel gun does not have to accommodate a magazine so it can be made to fit the hand better. If I had to choose a semi-auto it would be the CZ-75 series.
  16. The Israelis were able to squeeze a French made high velocity 76mm gun into the Sherman turret by mounting the gun on it's side. I wonder if Popgun is Israelis or a British Firefly? Either way it's a cool looking tank.
  17. I don't think I could add to these excellent replies. Sometimes I carry a Back Up Gun and sometimes I'll just carry two pistols. This time of year I may slip a .380 in my pocket and another .380 IWB.
  18. I have an English Leghumper.
  19. I don't know Jack.
  20. That's a fine catch. What a classic wheel gun!
  21. After spending the last 30+ years paddling rivers in Tennessee and the Southeast, we are going to the Ozarks in Arkansas. I was just wondering if anyone could give me some Beta on it.
  22. He is risen! Halleluiah!
  23. I read the article. What the writer said was mostly true. Some of it was conjecture. Like I say, it was a black day for Forrest and his men. The fact that the Yankees in Tennessee were behaving badly does not justify what happened. What I am trying to do is to understand what really happened and put it into some sort of perspective. There was another massacre at Saltville Virginia when a group of poorly trained and poorly let black union cavalry tried to attack the salt works. The southerners left no living black soldier on the field. You should not judge people who lived 150 years ago by today's standards. Black people were considered to be something less than humans. There was a tremendous amount of hatred and ignorance about people of different races back then. We now know better....I hope.
  24. I used to play hex board war games. I had one called "Terrible Swift Sword", the Battle of Gettysburg. Those were great games. I still have that game up in the attic. I have dice all over the house from playing those games.
  25. My heart goes out to you. Remember the good times. Man's best friend............
