Good post! Here is a question. If your wife was a felon and someone broke into your home while she was alone, does she have the right to defend herself with your shotgun? I would say "yes". Every human has the right to defend themselves against an attack, but I'm not a lawyer....

I could not watch any of those videos. I do not like seeing children exploited.

Knife of the day....Friday October 24th.....
Will Carry replied to Grand Torino's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
You made that? I ain't trying to blow sunshine up your.......nose.... but that is one of the coolest knives I have seen in awhile. It is a knife I would like to see under the Christmas tree with my name on it. -
Overtime GRAVY. Sop it up when you can, but don't drown in it. I have been a Blue Collar worker all my life. I have had opportunities to get a salary job and sit behind a desk but I'm a Process Mechanic, that's what I do. Those desk jockeys have to go to a gym to work out. I get a workout every day and get paid.

Which do you prefer 9mm or 38 special for SD?
Will Carry replied to RAJBCPA's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Thankfully, I cannot answer that question. I have never had to use a gun for self defense. I carry both a 9mm and a 38 special and train with them equally. I consider them to be roughly equal in stopping power. My favorite is the 38 special but for sentimental reasons. -
What was the original post about? Huh? :pleased: OH yeah! You'll need to post a picture. You could grow one of those turned down mustaches that makes men look mean (Women too for that matter) Cut your hair into a mohawk and die it bright RED. Wear a 10 gallon cowboy hat and when you walk in say "YIPPY EYE AYE! I GOT A POCKET FULL OF CASH AND I'M HEAR TO BUY!" Sometimes being invisible isn't a bad thing either.

Walther P22 problems. Mine has them all. Devil Gun From Hell.
Will Carry replied to Randall53's topic in Handguns
You must rid yourself of this evil! I had a pistol like that. It wasn't a Walther but it never worked right. I took it to my local gun shop (where I bought it) and told them that this gun was POS and the manufacturer has sent me two replacements and they didn't work either. So they took it back and gave me $200 credit toward a Ruger. I was so happy to get rid of that gun. I actually own a Walther P-22. It has never failed but it has become a safe queen for other reasons. -
The question is, can you shoot a snubby? Efrem Zimbalist Jr. could shoot the gun out of a man's hand at 100 yards with a snubby. Shooting a snubby takes dedication. You will spend twice as much time at the range learning the "art of snub". The reward will be great!

P-51 pilot who chased a German plane through the Eiffel Tower dies.
Will Carry replied to Will Carry's topic in General Chat
I read it! One of THE best books I have ever read on World War II. Imagine being a man who considered being a Lutheran minister but decided to fly for German Airlines. Then you realize that the German Airlines was the Luftwaffe. Franz Stigler was an excellent pilot with 17 kills (real kills) but when he came upon a B-17 shot up so bad that he could see through the plane from the bullet and cannon holes. The B-17 was running on 3 engines accept one would catch fire and they would have to shut it down to "cool off". Stigler had a full load of ammo and could have sent the B-17 down easily. Most of the crew was dead or wounded. He then remembered what he was taught in flight school. "Whatever you do in this war, you will have to answer to a Higher Call" .......................what a great read! -
I dropped my MasterCard on the deck at the ranger station at Frozen Head State Park one night. It went through the crack in the flooring. I crawled into the crawl space under the building to get it, but it was blocked off. Five years later, when they were replacing the wood floorboards they found it and called me.

You should learn how to inspect revolvers prior to purchasing one. There are several web sites that will give you the skinny. I would go with the Smith & Wesson first, The Ruger second and the Charter Arms third. Some people suggest getting a .357. That way you can shoot 38 specials and .357. That is an option but I have a Smith and Wesson model 36 and all I shoot it 38 special. I don't even bother with +P. Here is an article by Chuck Hawks: http://www.chuckhawks.com/wheel_guns.htm

Question Regarding a Possible Situation
Will Carry replied to 101's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
You did the right thing. Avoid a fight if you can. Even if it hurts your pride. Throat punch? Have you had any martial arts training? In Tae Kwon Do there are several moves that attack the throat. They are considered deadly strikes. I have only used my martial arts training once to defend myself. I was attacked in a parking lot, on Lower Broadway, by a man who was drunk and on drugs of some kind. I quick snap kick to the groin left him rolling in the gutter. I have also been badly beaten by a little guy who was a boxer. I was a 6' 2" at 210lb black belt and we was 5' 2" and 150lbs golden gloves boxer. He beat me so badly that to this day, I'm afraid of little dudes. -
Welcome Jason and thank you for your service. This a great forum with some good people. I'm a country boy who is now living in suburbia. I try to get back to the Tennessee woods once or twice a year to clear my head. Being a city boy, we have to shoot indoors (ain't that crazy!) so I shoot mostly handguns. I grew up next to a field that was over 1/4 mile long and spend many hours with my model 700 popping fire ant mounds. I envy a man who could become an elite sniper. The best of the best.

GOOD NEWS! My doctors says I can have two drinks of whiskey every night. "Do I have too?" He said I didn't but I could if I wanted to. So now I have to decide what kind. I used to like George Dickel because it had a distinct woody flavor. Jack Daniels has that pepper after taste. After reviewing this post maybe I should try some Kentucky Bourbon. I haven't had a drink in months.

I meant no disrespect to the men and women who served and are serving, that are not from the South.

My Niece is very liberal, tiny and lives in Nashville. She can't understand why anyone would want to carry a gun into a bar, or a grocery store or a movie theater or anywhere else. The lady in the video is pro-abortion, which I disagree with, but she makes sense and she does speak liberalese. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=643M_Me6vdI

They disrespect the South, make fun of us, call us names......until they need soldiers to fight their wars.

What a difference a trigger makes. Although my old LC9 hammer fired was 100% reliable, the trigger was just too long and the reset was....too long. I tried the new LC9s (striker fired) at my local gun shop and bought it. I took it to the range today and I must say the trigger is better than my Glock 19. It is smooth and the reset is short. This is the pistol that Ruger should have made in the first place. I ran 100 rounds of WWB through it and 14 rounds of Federal +P JHPs with no issues. The sights are good and the accuracy, at 21 feet, was spot on. The things I do not like about the pistol do not have anything to do with it's effectiveness as a small concealed carry pistol but I will mention them. 1) Magazine disconnect (don't like'em) 2) The orange New Jersey Magazine (?????) and the way it is disassembled. 3) You only get one magazine. It also comes in a cardboard Happy Meal box with a cheap little zip up bag that is useless. But the price is right and all of those things don't matter when you consider it is reliable and has a sweet trigger.
-
I had a Spud Launcher years ago. It had a handle with a propane grill igniter in it. It was sweet. It would knock the bark off a pine tree. When I found out that they were illegal, I got rid of it. They have enough power to kill someone and should be treated like a firearm, if they are legal where you live. If not, it ain't worth it.

I handled a Glock 42 at my LGS recently but decided to buy the Ruger LC9s. I am a big fan of Glocks and carry a G-19 (the LC9s is my BUG). I am sure the Glock 42 will become a classic.

Needing to add a wheel gun to the collection...thoughts??
Will Carry replied to MPGlock's topic in Handguns
I love wheel guns. My favorite is my Ruger Bisley Vaquero in .357. The sights are dead on, it has a target trigger and the hammer spur is lowered. Whatever you do, get a quality revolver. Smith and Wesson makes the best. Ruger makes the toughest. That's the only two I recommend. I have shot some Raging Bulls that were excellent. My dream pistol is a S&W model 27 4" or a new model 627. These are $1000 pistols but my Ruger is just as accurate. -
Hundreds of American soldiers and sailors were killed with Mustard Gas in the port of Bari, Italy, after a surprise attack by over 20 German bombers. The only problem was that it was our Mustard gas that killed them. Rumors had spread that Hitler might use poison gas as a last resort so the US Navy was ordered to send a ship filled with Mustard gas close to the front lines so they could be deployed as a retaliation should Hitler use gas. It was so secret that nobody in the port knew of it. When the Luftwaffe made their surprise attack, they sank 17 ships (including the Mustard Gas ship) and damaged many more in the harbor. They started getting wounded who had terrible blisters on their skin and lungs, by the time they figured out what it was, over 600 men had died at the hospital and countless more died before they were found. If they had known of the Mustard gas, they would have used decontamination procedures and could have saved many of the victims. It is not known how many Italians died of the poison gas. http://www.rense.com/general16/WWIIluftwaffe.htm
