  1. Ya know...I enjoying having Illinois in the Union less and less all the time.
  2. Sounds like we all need to move to Arizona and become LEOs.
  3. This is the end of the beginning. Just like owning a house...this will always be a work in progress...or so it seems. I bought a Stag Arms M4 back in August complete and ready to fire and I don't think I'll ever quit shopping for that little extra piece or furniture for it. +1:up: Congrats and enjoy the build.
  4. I've never heard of anybody mistakenly putting their loaded handgun anywhere....this chick must have been an airhead.
  5. The Remington 870 and the Mossberg 500 (my personal favorite) are favorites among the TGO....but have you ever read this? httphttp://existingthing.blogspot.com/2006/09/bats-shotguns-and-knives-oh-my.html:// This guy makes a good point and although, I don't agree with him always, his whole site is a pretty good read.
  6. That's a sharp little pistol.
  7. Welcome from middle Tennessee:wave:
  8. The box of truth give a run down contradictory to what Taurus does. I'm blocked at work, but have the link to the face page. www.theboxotruth.com/ Look up the Taurus Judge and make your own opinion. I was all hyped up about this revolver until I saw the report on it. It's a nice novelty gun, but not exactly what Taurus sells it up to be.
  9. Welcome from middle Tennessee..
  10. Love to make the I-40 stop in Germantown on the way to Memphis Octoberfest:up:
  11. Same here. My dad's a Freemason, but I never had time to study up and qualify.
  12. Congrats Angus. This is the l..o..n..g..e..s..t w..a..i..t o..f y..o..u..r l..i..f..e. At least it was for me when i got mine back on January '02.
  13. I only wish I would have thought of pulling out "ye ole cel phone" and snapping a few pics. But, after dude from channel 2,4, or 5 did his little sting a few years ago, the last thing I'm going to do is take pictures at a gun show. However, if there was a way to stick a USB cable in my ear and down load what I saw Saturday...Oh babee, the pictures. Wouldn't know the chick with the M1 parts. After buying my AR parts, I was tapped. I probably saw her, but never let my eyes get down as far as the table to see prices much more what was on the table.
  14. A friend I met at the show bought a Hi-Point .40S&W for $186 OTD. My brother picked up a slightly used Ruger P-89 with 2 mags for $299 +tax, but free BG check. I bought AR furniture for an "ehh" price. At least it was cheaper than shopping at CTD. By the way....it was worth my $7 admission just to go by the Guns for America table. Any red-blooded American hetero-male who went, will know exactly what I'm talking about...
  15. Is it me, or does Vince remind you of a carnival ride operator?
  16. In other words....If the teacher forgets to give homework on Friday...Don't ask if we have any homework? Just roll with it.
  17. Welcome, TylerC. That's a heck of an inventory for a 21 yr old. You must be a heck of a horse trader. I didn't have that many firearms til I was over thirty and I thought I was buying guns and ammo as hard and fast as I could since I was 21. What happened to them all? Hard times, stolen, a trade you could pass up?
  18. Well, I went. Not alot of good deals...but some if you studied long enough. All prices are going up, though...we all know why. The AR dealer I bought parts from was concerned about the taxation of ammo. That's what's gonna kill the gun trade.
  19. I'm going....I guess I've got enough for a cigarette lighter, a ball cap, and Chinese pocket knife...
  20. Thanks for the visual, Creeky. I'm not even a dealer and I can't sit down, now.
  21. I bought 2 at a gun show once, but from 2 different dealers. Me, the second dealer, and the agent on the phone all had a good laugh, because she had just dealt with the first dealer and knew who I was. I bought 2 from Franklin Gun Shop at the same time and never had a problem. I was paying with Ben Franklins and they were more than willing to accomodate. Sounds like your dealer has been burned in the past or is a little "gun" shy.....
  22. Took me 8 months after we got married to buy a house. Took me 10 years after that to FINALLY get the man cave the way she'd let me keep it. Good luck with your new compund....I mean, home.
