  1. Gads! I'm making mental notes like crazy:hyper:. +1:up: great post ZenDog and great follow up Astra900. It really makes you think which pistol/rifle combo you want to cache away. It also makes you say to yourself...this is only something you see in the movies. Only the heavy-hitting, higher-up spies do this crap...But how long before it comes down to the little guy...a.k.a. The Average Joe.
  2. I have a DELL laptop and my wife just got a Toshiba. If you buy a DELL on line, you can pretty much build it to fit your needs and pocketbook. My wife picked up her Toshiba at Circuit City (before the eminent close out) on sale for about $650. I got mine for over $1000 from DEll, but LOTS of bells and whistles. I run XP, she runs Vista. I know pretty much about computers to be dangerous, but was told on a computer forum to go for the 64 bit as opposed to the 32 bit. Some of the more knowledgeable members may want to elaborate on that. If you're going wireless, the DELL is a B*tch to get set up. The Toshiba fell right into place. I don't know anything about a MAC, except, most of the music, graphic arts, and film industies prefer them.
  3. Dip Sh**....I mean, Douche Bag.
  4. Yep. At least they keep us informed on what's going in the trade magazine (American Rifleman, America's First Freedon, etc...) and give us a report card of the candidates at election time.
  5. There's no money or free ride in it.
  6. SON OF FREAKIN' @#(&*^&^%$%&^%&*@*&!!!!!!! That's my favorite show and I miss the season kick off! No more kids in the den (man cave) on Thursday night....ever. I've watched Barney, Bob the Builder, and Thomas the FREAKIN' Tank Engine movies till I'm bleeding out my eyes! I gotta have some man TV before to long. When do they rerun it this weekend?
  7. Purpose of this email aside, it just makes good sense. If you're banking your mad money for a pistol/rifle/ammo.....don't go buy a boat. Stay the course. Like the man said, "Some day is today". I'll add, "and yesterday".
  8. I carry with a Galco Summer Carry, but have a problem in that I have to "untuck" in order to conceal unless I have a coat I can tolerate inside. I've been leaning toward the MTAC or CTAC since friend, Creeky from this forum showed me how well his worked.
  9. I got a set of Bridgestone's on the wife's van right now. Best we've ever had. Nothing wrong with "sticking to your guns". You've got 2 winners in your collection.
  10. Congrats! That's just how I started out 2002. Qualified in December 2001. HCP in January and even carried a Ruger P-90. Now (like I found out) you'll probably want to start shopping for something slimmer, lighter, and smaller. Those P-90s are like carrying an encyclopedia on your body, no matter where you put it. A great pistol, no doubt, but a tad bit bulky.
  11. Exactly my point. Sometimes taking the argument OFF YOUR PROPERTY and ON TO ANOTHER'S can reverse your title from good guy to defendant. It can get complex in a hurry, anyway. Especially when you're out numbered and on their property when the law arrives. Kids and drunks can change your story and turn it on you really quick. In both our cases, calling the LEOs was the right thing to do. Heck, why not put those precious tax dollars to work for yourself. That's what they're there for...to protect and to serve.
  12. I've always heard that called the Apache Killing Position.
  13. Man, I hate the f***ing Eagles.....
  14. Not pushing an opinion, (because I'm new to AR ownership and builds, too), the guys I've learned from buy different uppers with the barrel they want for the chosen purpose. It's quick and easy, not to mention, you've then got more than one rifle by owning multiple uppers. Maybe a little more $$$, but less complicated.
  15. Wouldn't you just change out the upper?
  16. The Average Joe

    Good grief.

I wish I had a nickel for every time he pokes his booger hook into the trigger guard.
  17. These Marschal Grips went on easily and fit perfectly. I've heard horror stories of their not fitting and needing all kinds of fitting and sanding. These look, fit, and feel great. For those of you playing at home...yes, that's a Don Hume PCCH Holster (http://www.donhume.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65_5&products_id=56) bought from his site. A PCCH is a Galco Summer Carry clone. This one was ordered to fit a Walther PPK/PPKS and fit the FEG like a glove. The Don Hume isn't Galco quality, but for a cheap reasonable facsimile at half the price...it ain't bad.
  18. I wonder if this would work on my NaNo? I got a $15 iTunes card for Christmas.
  19. True..I guess I can admit I saw the answer coming. I just can't get over all the panic over a pocket knife. However, I have enough "airline weaponry" in my pockets and hanging off my belt, it's a wonder I don't just check my pants at the door and walk around in my tighty wighties during my visits to these type places. No way I could charge admission, though.
  20. Astra900....don't make me say it....
  21. Not bad for $42 total...$37 + $5s&h.
  22. After ordering from Marschal Grips back on December 6, 2008, my FEG Pa-63 grips finally arrived today. not bad, a 6 week turn around out of Butapest, Hungary. http://www.marschalgrips.com/ I had them sent to my office. Now, I have to wait till I get home to put them on. The gun is out in my truck as I wait for work time to end. I took these with my camera phone. I should have better pictures posted latter on taken with a higher resolution.... I got the walnut matte finish. I haven't fitted them to the pistol as of yet. But they look like I won't have a problem.
  23. Don't feel bad. You're S&W beats the D.R. hands down in quality.
