  1. This from Magpul on Facebook today: We’d like to thank the tens of thousands of visitors to our booth at the NRA show as well as the numerous posters here on our FB page for your support and for the generous invitations to relocate to your home states. While at the NRA show, we had the opportunity to speak with representatives from various gun-friendly states, including the Governor of Texas and his staff. We have some additional visits and meetings that will be taking place in the near future with the short list of remaining potential locations. Numerous preparations for executing the move while minimizing disruptions to production are already underway. As mentioned previously, we have already started moving some of our production out of CO. There are many factors at work in our decisions, including business climate, tax structure, legislative environment, regulatory burdens, culture, workforce, etc., and any decision that did not consider all these areas carefully would not only be ill-advised, but irresponsible to our employees, our customers, and the brand. We are eager to make more specific announcements as soon as we can responsibly do so without sabotaging our ongoing efforts and negotiations, and we appreciate your support and understanding until then.
  2. Where is this Jets Pizza you all speak of? The one I've tried in Pasquo (near Bellevue) was absolutely horrible when is was fresh, it never made it to the reheat stage.... However...Batting 1000 with Papa Johns in Bellevue, so far.
  3. I follow Magpul on Twitter as well as facebook. I receive emails from them as well. From what I gather, Magpul is made up of several different sub-companies that manufacture different parts of their products. All have committed to move with Magpal, but to several different locations to ease lifestyle and culture shock for its employees. I imagine this is no easy task, but I have complete faith that Magpul will keep its word. I'm waiting on word from Colt, Ruger, Kimber and several of the other firearms/ammo/accessory manufacturers in NY to move. Although, I doubt the unions affiliated with them will allow them that choice. I know Berretta is moving from Maryland.   Mossberg was interviewed on Cam and Company on NRA radio a few weeks ago and they're debating moving. Everytime a company moves from one of the anti-gun states, I move them to the top of my purchasing list...   Number 1 on my list right now is Shield Tactical.   http://www.shieldtactical.com/
  4. The best pizza in Fairview, TN is a Snappy's pizza. The second best pizza in Fairview is a cold (or reheated) Snappy's pizza for breakfast.   http://www.bing.com/local/details.aspx?lid=YN806x401995011&qt=yp&what=snappy%27s+pizza&where=Fairview%2c+Tennessee&s_cid=ansPhBkYp02&mkt=en-us&q=snappy%27s+pizza+fairview+tn&qpvt=snappy%27s+pizza+fairview+tn&FORM=LARE
  5. I hate being asked "Why?" It irritates me, sometimes, when my kids ask me "Why?" BUT, it pisses me off to no end when an adult asks me "Why?".   It's as if I've misbehaved or something....
  6. I used to sell and buy from eBay all the time. As I modified my AR-15, I would try to sell the discarded part on eBay. Nine times out of ten, I'd get the auction kicked off.   Reasons: 1.I had to be a licenced dealer. (I'm not) 2.I had overlooked the internantional shipping in the listing and "assault weapons" parts are not aloud to be sold that way on eBay. 3. eBay just plain old wouldn't let me sell it because it was firearm related. 4. If you listed your firearm related item as "can be used for airsoft", your item might pass and stay on long enough to get purchased. But you wouldn't get a fair price as it would only attract the "airsoft crowd", not the "firearm crowd".     Other observations: As of December 14, 2012.... Most of my "favorite sellers", who I have purchased firearm related items, have since abandoned their eBay stores. eBay/Paypal will no longer let you purchase guns, ammo, or magazines online with a Paypal account/card. However, licenced dealers have gun parts for sale on eBay....haven't figured that one out yet.   I've abandoned my Paypal account (most banks have a similar online checking account with card... $25 to open and can have as little as a 0 balance without penanty. No paperwork, it's all done online like PayPal) ....and I only shop eBay as a last resort when I absolutely can't find it anywhere else.   I find there are a lot of online merchants, retailers/dealers that are competitive with eBay. Looking for FREE SHIPPING deals is the trick.
  7. Agreed. If this were me or you, we'd be cooling our heels in a jail cell until the court date or until somebody shows up to post bail....   ...and as far as innocent until proven guilty, I don't think this ordeal would have gotten this far if there hadn't have been witnesses to colaborate the story...
  8. http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinReceiver.htm   This is a good site to help you tell/see what you've got....
  9. I read where only the North American Arms mini-revolver when in it's wallet holster was deemed class 3. All bets were off on all the rest....
  10. Both are reliable, quality manufacturers. I'd say at this point, you go with whatever you think is the better deal or looks best to you.
  11. Next thing you know, they'll want to dig up Reagan and Nixon.....

  13. I wouldn't buy this shirt for someone else to where....   Concerning the design, "Less is more". I have pro 2nd shirts that speak louder, but use only a fraction of the ink.
  14. With the gun bills dead in Washington (for the time being), there's still the lingering rumor/urban legend/myth/fact/whatever that the Fed is going to come back with a bill to raise the federal tax on ammo sky high OR deem ammunition an explosive resulting in purchase regulation.   That being said, true or false, it's still floating around out there and the ones who are drinking that kool-aid are going to be the ones buying it up among the rest of us. This is not to mention all the new gun owners who entered the market between December 14th and now. They're now buying up ammo, too.
  15. I passed it up this time around. Figured everything would be gouged.... :-\
  16. I told my wife last night, "We will probably never see gas for under $3 again". ...That being said...I wonder if I'll ever see a box of .22lr Remington 550rd in Walmart ever again?....for under $20.
  17. Thanks. Was planning on taking my dad. I'm not really up to fighting the parking, long lines, and the huge crowd....not to mention price gouging. Guess we'll try it. I'm good on firearms, ammo, and accessories. {I did all my backstocking (now referred to as hording) prior Thanksgiving 2012} Just wanted to get out and see if there might be a decent deal on something.....anything We've still got some Christmas money and it's about to burn out of our pockets.
  18. So how was today's turn out? Was it anything like the last B.G. Gun Show? Is it worth fighting the mobs and long lines/wait to go on Sunday?
  19. Hey, just sayin...(Hypothetically) the next time I decide to knock over a liquir store, gas station, or a bank and I see that big piece of Austrian plastic hanging off your hip or outside your pants as you're paying for that Diet Coke and Snickers bar...I'll shoot you first. :P No evidence, but a damn good theory. ;)         Open carry isn't my thing, but if you're going to do it,(and I don't care if you do or not) show a little respect for how you're doing. The least the D*Bag that showed up in the paper could have done was O.C.ed like he knew what he was doing. After all, we are trying to "sell it" to the opposition. Sunday's paper showed the epitome of what the opposition is using to try to take away from the rest of us. Dude was "showboating". He made THEIR point. His method of open carry made him appear a thug. Hypothetically, he showed up to a wedding in a wife beater, cut offs, and flip flops. He embarrassed the family.... The least he could have done was respect the weapon (as well as the situation at hand) and provided a proper holster for the weapon. :grouchy:
  20. As my heart and prayers go out to the victims, I can't help but think in the back of my mind, "Existing gun laws were broken. No need to enact any new ones"....   It's sad that that's the mindset our government has put on we gunowners...everytime there's a tragedy, we have to worry about how our liberties and lifestyles are going to be punished.
  21.   Agreed. I walked through the crowd while there just to see if anyone was open carrying. My group (all concealed) had decided, since we didn't know if we'd be on Fed/State/County building property decided to leave our pieces in the truck. I saw several empty open carry holsters as well. Guys must have had the same idea. However, I didn't see anyone open carrying. I sure didn't see "the Tennessean's spokemodel" with his Glock while I was there.... But, it was a big crowd...can't expect see everybody. I realize the fact that TN is an open carry state and if that's your thing, more power to you. I've always been told, "the guy that open carries is the first man shot when SHTF".   Although, the guy in the Tennessean was probably the only on there open carrying, he was just what the Tennessean was looking for. In knowing some who have worked for local TV and newspapers, I can say, from what they've told me, that when looking for a (contriversial) picture, they look for the extreme (i.e. the clown, the tear jerker, or one that will just plan p*ss you off). When looking for an interview (the man on the street), they go with the one who makes the biggest arse of himself. It's a little prank they like to play, sometimes. Prove me wrong.   Mom and Dad always told me, "keep your face out of the paper and don't do anything to be on the news".... I think most people will know what they meant by that.   My :2cents:
  22. I'm interested in getting a couple or more...
  23. Went with Creeky and his crew. Thought it was a good turn out. Used the camera phone to show how many were there. I wouldn't go by any amount our local or nation news sources report. Chances are it was more if not double the amount they're saying..... We got there early, so the entire crowd hadn't really gathered, yet. All in all, a great turn out for a great cause.
  24. O.C. = first man shot if/when bad guys show up and S.H.T.F.
  25. IMHO - Both, you and the seller go to his or your vehicle. Negotiate and make the transaction. Put the gun in your vehicle. Go about your planned agenda and business from there.... Just my take on it....
