  1.   I'm getting old - I can only carry one at a time.
  2. I built a SHTF AR that has the Magpul MIAD grip and ACS stock.  On-board parts and supplies include: Extra bolt assembly and firing pin, Anderson ‘Oops’ spring/parts kit, a small rag and tube of gun oil, extra batteries, and a Samson Field Survival AR tool kit.  I have a few other things stuffed in there too, just don’t recall everything.   (The Samson tool is cool, but it’s seriously overpriced in my opinion. I got it marked down on E-Bay and still paid way too much.)
  3. I have one of the RI .38 revolvers that I bought for a 'don't care if it gets banged up' truck/camping/fishing gun.  I've shot several boxes of ammo through it, and haven't had any problems.  It may not be the prettiest gun, but it shoots just fine.
  4.   OK, that knife sells for $250 - is that in the same ballpark as some of the custom knives sold in this forum?  I've looked wistfully at some of the knives offered by Gran Torino et al, but hesitated to ask what kind of price they had on them.
  5. I spent +20 years in the book business and have thousands of books in my home, but I don't read anything these days if it's not on my Kindle.
  6. I'm about two thirds of the way through One Year After - it's good, but it doesn't have the impact that One Second had with me.  For you guys waiting for the book - how come you're not reading on a Kindle?
  7. I (and a couple other people I know) thought the first 'new' Colonel Sanders was really creepy..  I'm guessing they moved on to Norm McDonald after some consumer feedback.
  8. Nice!  Years ago I made swords just like that for my boys.  They got a full summer of use out of them, and always seemed to be the elected leaders of their packs due at least in part to the quality of their equipment.
  9. OK, I'm in.  Payment sent via PayPal.  My other ProTech is number 11, but if Luap really wants that number I'll take number 10. Two-tone blade, and with the Punisher logo.   This knife will be a Christmas/going away present for my son, who will be leaving two weeks after his high school graduation to join the Army.
  10. The reporter's father is now on live TV calling for increased 'reasonable' gun control, and literally just said that he'll probably have to get a gun to protect himself now that he is in the media spotlight...
  11. If these idiots really had the strengh of their convictions they would just stop making movies with guns in them..  Bet we won't see that happen.
  12. I picked one up from E-bay a while back, nicely made from turned steel.  Using is is not quite as easy as that video makes it look though...
  13. I just ordered a $7 Tenkara rod from Amazon, and it's the coolest thing!  About a foot long and telescopes out to 8-9 feet.  I have a furled line/leader coming from Ebay, and with a few flies I tied years ago, I'll be set to try out Tenkara for less than $20.    I went ahead and ordered another of these rods - It'll go in my bug-out bag.
  14.   I have to agree with this too..  I had a LCP and a P238, but traded them both away after picking up the Kahr.  It works great for me.
  15.   I use these instructions too - I keep a printout of them in my 'Gun Stuff' box and dig them out when assembling.  It's a lot easier referring to this than trying to watch the videos on my phone.
  16. I have a couple of cheap (Baofeng) portable Ham radios wrapped in anti-static/EMP bags that I keep in my gun safe.  They would supplement my regular Ham gear, and/or could be used as trade goods if SHTF.  They can be had for $25-$30 on ebay.
  17. I built a press from plywood, woodworking clamps, and a few layers of a cut-up foam camping mat.  I put the gun I want the holster for in a couple of heavy-duty ziplock bags and press with either wet leather or warm/hot (cheap heat gun from Harbor Freight) kydex.  Works pretty well for both.
  18.  The Tandy store on Nolensville Pike has either moved or gone out of business...
  19. Just gonna let this speak for itself...   http://theshrug.net/she-gardens-like-a-pro-with-a-shotgun/
  20. WooHoo!  Congratulations!!!
  21. I use ParkWhiz.com - I just paid $12 for a guaranteed spot in a parking garage a few blocks away from Music City Center, from 8am to 11pm.  I've used them before and it's hard to beat.
  22. I received mine a couple of weeks ago..  Neeener neener neener!
  23.   Don't use hay - you'll just be seeding the garden with more weeds.   It may not work for those of you with bigger gardens, but after I dig up the soil in the spring, I put down landscape fabric in my garden and cut small X's to plant.  Works great, and my garden stays weed-free for the whole growing season.
  24. Just my opinion, but that is too freaking fast to go on two wheels!
