  1. I asked TGO David about this earlier in the year, but I know he was busy and couldn't get it going then - maybe he could revisit the idea.
  2. Yeah, but we're too busy revamping the health care system.......
  3. I want a bumper sticker that says "The closer you follow, the slower I'll go!" I've become a lot more tolerant and forgiving of people on the road since getting my hcp.
  4. I had a 2-1/4" SP101 and liked it enough to get a 3" too - great, dependable revolvers. Smooth action and trigger pull, built like tanks. I agree with a couple of the other posters that they're a little heavy for carry unless you have a good holster for them.
  5. I occasionally drill holes in leather to make leather/kydex holsters - I use either a small drill press or antique push-drill. As long as the drill bit is sharp its pretty simple and easy.
  6. OK - I'm praying. (I'm on the list now, right?)
  7. Hey - nice watch! I have the same thing.
  8. Thanks to the flooding in Nashville I can't make it. I think I'll get another day off sometime in June. (Just wanted to complain to someone...!)
  9. 5 for me... I think most of the things that worked against me were out of my control. (Except for maybe the prostitutes..)
  10. If my Glock 26 with CT laser grips didn't cry out so much for the Batman cover plate, I wouldn't even think about it..!
  11. At several recent gun shows I've seen cool little Rear Cover Plates for Glocks, and I've debated about getting one for my G26. Am I being paranoid thinking that personalizing a firearm would be just one more thing to try and explain if you were involved in a self-defense shooting? (I would think that something like Punisher or Batman bling would be especially problematic.) What do you guys think?

    Not a sig fan

Nice. Re the other post - what's a ballpark figure for laser engraving - anyone know?
  13. A vendor at a recent Nashville Flea Market had some food-grade rain barrels for sale - I remember they seemed a little pricey to me, but I'm a cheapskate. They weren't $90.

    Musical Milestones

My mother played the french horn with the Women's Army Corps Band, and until the day she died could pick up any instrument and play it like nobody's business. She was a Glen Miller fan, and I grew up listening to her big band records, until a family friend bought me my first album - Beach Boys Surfin Safari. Now I listen to almost anything, from Beach Boys and blues to hip hop and Hiatt.

    New .45

I have a Kimber, and like it a lot. (But I LOVE my Springfield loaded stainless!)
  16. I have one of the Center of Mass boxes in my truck, and I think it works great. In an apartment you could lock it to something (like maybe a water pipe?) to keep it secure.
  17. Or heck - just do what I do and order some kydex on-line and make the whole thing. Tandy sells the leather, chicago screws, and the belt clips. I use a harbor freight heat gun ($10?) to heat the kydex, form it around the gun with spoons and chopsticks, and attach it to the leather. Works great - whole thing takes me about an hour.
  18. I use Chicago screws on mine - you could always drill them out and replace them with those.
  19. Sure isn't..... Forcast is for thunderstorms.
  20. You could always go to Tandy Leather, buy a piece of leather, and cut a new one... I've made several 'knock-off' holsters of this type, and making the leather part is relatively easy. (I use a small drill press to make the holes.)
  21. I went with the horsehide when I bought my crossbreed, and really like it. I never had issues with it being too stiff or needing to be broken in - after the first day it had formed itself nicely and was very comfortable. I have since made some 'knock-off' copies for some of my other guns (which is surprisingly easy to do by the way) with cowhide, and find that I like the stiffer horsehide better.
  22. For what it's worth, I'd be in for next weekend as well.
  23. Wow - that is pretty! Black, stainless, 1911 - those three things go great together.
  24. TONS of info available here - welcome!
  25. Very nice. You can't go wrong with a Springfield GI.
