  1. Sweet rifle!
  2. I apologize for my delayed response, didn't set my email up on my new phone 2 months ago. Only recently set it up because my children's scool constantly send emails. I almost exclusively use my smartphone to surf the web. My home power was out but I can always charge my phone in my Ford Excursion. I'm a little spoiled since I'm grandfathered in with an unlimited data plan. My power was out but not my cellphone tower. I reread my post and realize I wasn't clearly explaining my 2 different Saga 223 conversions. The first does not have a bullet guide installed. I cleaned it when I traded for it, and haven't cleaned or even lubed since. It runs flawlessly with the factory mags and heavily used Surefires that came with it. I ran out of Wolf and now shoot Hornady Stamped steel case practice ammo. My second Saiga does have a bullet guide installed. I clean it every time and lube before shooting. Just like i do AR type rifles. After drooling over the pics again I'm still envious of your gorgeous AK. Kevin

    Saiga .223 conversion

Wow! That's gonna be a sweet AK101 clone. Thanks for posting your progress.

    Trade or no trade

    I second the NO's.
  5. So basically the Marines are purchasing $1875 1911's for 6% of it's total force. I'd expect that for that price that these pistols will not be Mil-Spec, but in fact hand fitted custom pistols for Marines with extensive training for CQB. Just like how SWAT teams carry different weapons than a regular officer. The FBI SWAT team doesn't carry Glocks, Sigs or any other approved duty pistols. They carry custom 1911's.
  6. I predict they sell each and every one that they make before the next election. I have one glorious morning's experience shooting an MP5 a Colt Commando clone. The owner had 20 mags for each weapon fully loaded upon our arrival at the berms. Only catch was I had to load the empty magazines while we shot, and pack all of them away fully loaded as I found them. Anyways I spent every moment non-shooter second, besides safety instructions, loading magazines. My friend predicted that I'd get tired of loading magazines before he ran out of ammo. A BoyScout troop showed up around noon, to our suprise, there was about 6 inches of snow on the ground. I've always worked with my hands and my right thumb was feeling a little burnt. To the few lucky people.who have the means and opportunities to shoot M16's etc... I can see how an 150 round capacity mag would be extremely appealing. Especially when it could be a long time until we can buy non-reduced capacity magazines again. Remember last time? I'm not being political, the GOP attacks my job every chance it gets. BUT if I purchase what I want now I can vote for my paycheck later. Unfortunately I'm in no position to buy any more goodies right now. Strayed a little off course, if Dolamite says something is cool. It Is.

    Brand New Rock

No pics = didn't happen;) I assume the seller really likes you because $200 would usually get you a Hi-Point 45 kept in a toolbox, behind the seat of a truck, that crosses train tracks daily, when it comes with that kind of ammo. Pics would be really nice

    Glock rusted!

I'm flabbergasted. Have a G19 that I bought when i turned 21. I actually bought 2 identicals (except serial numbers) so I had to fill out an extra ATF form, believe there was a 3 day waiting period back then. Anyways I'm 38 now and back then gunshows were cluttered with pallets of cheap corrosive 9mm. I've estimated over 5000 rounds of corrosive ammo passed through my G19. Even though I own a Crossbreed Supertuck I usually carry it just like always have. Chamber empty, 4'o'clock on my strongside hip. I'm a skinny narrow hipped whiteboy who sweats in the winter. One of the G19's was never cleaned during this "cheap Chinese ammo" period of my life. The other I cleaned religiously with Hoppes #9 every time as soon as I returned home. The cleaned Glock still hangs with me almost every night and is the only gun I'll have on me now when I work around the house. No rust anywhere. Ever. Kel-tec P32 rusted pretty much everywhere after one summer mow. Kahr CW9 rusted on mag release after one mow. I have seen Glocks with metal sights that had the rust spread from the sights to the slide. I'm very curious what kind of ammo was in the chamber and which gen Glock you have. I apologize if you've already stated that but I have a beer in one hand and my phone flat on the bartable in front of me. Took me 2 beers to type this;)
  9. Ability to use what's hanging always by your side to engage hostiles behind cover seems important to the THP for some reason.
  10. OP asked for high powered rifle choices. Personally I'd wish for a 50 BMG on a tripod with an Eotech on top. An ACOG would be nice as well. And the Hooter's waitresses i rescued bringing me beer wings and ammo... Realistically I'd grab both of my JChiggins tubefed 22LRs and lettum have it.
  11. Oh and Im totally jealous of your handguard and gas tube setup. And flashhider. And stock. And yes I've had a few beers, but our power is out, and there is literally nothing else to do:)
  12. Saiga 223. Have one I treat like a stolen car. (conversion by Superman) No bullet guide so I use my Surefire's and factory mags. Cleaned it once when I traded for it. AS BORING AS MY GLOCKS. Bang bang bang....... Met a man at Prentice Cooper. Virtually identical conversion but was shooting ProMags. Must have broke the tab (bullet guide/ramp) off his magazine during his first reload because I witnessed my first AK jam. Showed him where the tab was supposed to be. Asked him if I could try his "broken" mag in my Saiga with a bullet guide. Bang, bang, bang..... Since then I've had approximately 2 misfires from a 500 round box of Wolf. Both rounds went off the second time around. No jams ever using factory or Surefire's. Hard primers? I dunno, i cleared the chamber and carried on. Now my Saiga with a bullet guide is another story. Treat it like an AR. One surplus Galil mag works every time, the other double feeds like a worn AR mag. Thanks for your post because it reminds me that i need to order some new mags for it. Honestly i was so disgusted, and embarrassed in front of my Bushmaster totin buddies, that i haven't shot it since. A 223 AK is a compromise, you get the best, and worst, of both worlds. ENJOY. I do:)
  13. Dolamite Supafly you are the man. I've paid 10 bucks for a magazine just about AR rifles. It said the same thing about conversion inaccuracies that I've read everywhere else. Twist rate of host rifle and the smooth bore before the bullet exits the conversion. You should be a professional writer for those magazines and/or a consultant for the industry. Congratulations on becoming a moderator, Kevin
  14. I don't see anything, maybe because Im on my phone?????
  15. I concur, very fortunate he didn't end dead or damaged. Funny though, also demonstrates what a great weapon fear is.
  16. Awesome I want one. I'm buying a Glock cutout from jtluttrell, he also has an "in case of zombies break glass Mossberg Cruiser cutout " but i had to pass because I like stocks on my shotguns. This however will be perfect hanging next to my posters, in the man/boy room:) put me first on the list please.
  17. Sweet Pistol. The Glock Gods will punish you after shooting a 1911 with a good trigger. They punished me after 3 month, , affair with a Springfield Mil-Spec. Traded for a gen3 G19, but couldn't produce my usual groups until I retrained myself by dryfiring every night. Switching "platforms", I've learned, just ain't my thing. Sure is fun though:)
  18. That's the baddest chainsaw I've ever seen. I've read on the internet that most chainsaws would get clogged up with zombie gunk and stop working after a few dissections. Maybe we need to invents self-cleaning zombe chainsaw chain......
  19. I appreciate your open mind, as I'm definitely not an expert. Maybe a TGO member with an identical Glock factory 357Sig barrel could step up and let you try swapping. I've never shot 357Sig although I still have a 50 round box I bought to shoot through Patton's, but my hectic schedule never allowed us to perform our phonebook penetration tests. Since your (Glock)technique is down, that leaves only the barrel/chamber ( of the only Glock factory bottleneck cartridge ) to be at fault. I'm curious if anyone else within your first three letters of your serial number have had a problem. Either way I'd like to think that Glock would either examine your barrel and confirm it's as it should be, or replace it for one in spec. Keep us updated
  20. I once had a magazine that had a bunch of experts talking(writing) about the proper grip for various handguns. I reread it until it fell apart. After practicing the techniques while safely dryfiring at home. My buddies came to the conclusion that my Glock 19 was super accurate and finally asked to shoot my cheap(compared to their premium brand) plastic pistol. None of them could get half of their shots on my homemade 8.5" X 11" targets. Try to get the web between your thumb as uncomfortably high as possible. Your off hand should help by pulling the pistol into your web. It felt weird for the first few hundred pulls, but once you can dryfire, safely, with almost zero front sight movement, try again. I also changed my stance to leaning forward. Before I was kind of leaning back. Glocks aren't the most accurate but with alot of practice should always be on paper at a handgun range. The above worked for me but I'm sure with little research you can find a technique that works for you.
  21. Wow! That's sharp, extremely attractive pistol, Kudos to you!

    KRISS KARD

Had to get out my G21 to compare for a minute. IF, 45ACP muzzle flip was reduced to 22LR pistol levels, OR accuracy beats the highdollar 1911's, AND it works as well as a properly held Glock 21, I can see this developing a small cult following. NOW shrink this bad boy down to pocket/IWB dimensions and calibers, and they'll be backordered longer than Seecamps were...

    Found my new love

Nice 1911. You should do a side by side comparison of your next trip to the range, both of you shooting each others guns. I've always wondered how much better gun you get for every extra dollar spent. Thanks for posting, Kevin
  24. Like Dungaroos, just pick one that matches what you're wearing. I like my J-frame in a deep baggy shorts pocket, or in a deep jacket pocket. My G19 is basically the same as a G36, IWB, OWB, Mexican(empty chamber). Don't have a PM9, do have a CW9, let's me wear my skinny jeans;) Joking aside, I would say the best one is the one you could carry daily and practice with the most. Caliber and capacity are moot if you can't deploy it accurately when needed. Nice collection by the way.

    New Sig TacOps-TB

Wow! Glad I clicked on this. All I can say is I hope she shoots as good as she looks. Kudos to you:)
