Either P-11 or PF-9 -- both are fine little pistols. The PF-9 is thinner and easier to conceal, and the trigger pull is lighter. The P-11 is perhaps a bit more reliable, but heavier, with a pretty tough trigger. Both are more difficult to shoot than the Bersa.

Folks, whether we like it or not, the world has become a global market place, and it isn't ever going back to what it used to be. I don't like it, but that's the reality of the situation. So, I will just buy quality stuff, and not worry about where it comes from.

There's a problem with the ant and grasshopper story. In the real world the grasshoppers are cared for by the "Government," which demands that the ants turn over their stores to the central warehouse, where the Government will hand it out to the grasshoppers, after keeping a large portion for government workers. Lesson: Ants, hide your stuff, and don't let anyone know where it is or that you even have it. Otherwise, it will be taken from you.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong: I'm thinking that you CANNOT replace the original thumbhole with another thumbhole stock, unless you then continue to fulfill all the 922r regulations. ANY change whatsoever, even simply sticking a non-original mag in the mag hole, forces you to do the entire 922r thing. Right?

A lot of people (including me) like the MAK-90 just "as is," thumbhole stock and all. All the stuff you do to it won't make it shoot any better. But, whatever floats your boat! Go for it!
