  1. Since you've already started the who cares crap... He announced it publicly because he is a public figure. He is now a professional shooter. He has sponsors and a fan base that give him his living. Because of that, he needs to be honest because the media (TMZ) will use anything that they can to try and shame him. And if it means outing him, they will do it. Just because we may be open minded and "not care" doesn't mean that people that can control his livelihood don't. That is why he has be open or in front of it. Honestly, he doesn't owe anyone anything. He shouldn't have to do this. But he does because of society. Personally, I hope he starts prancing around in pink like a party kid just to get on the nerves of every other shooter. Can you imagine all the competitions he could win if he dressed like that? No other shooter would be able to concentrate.
  2. Mike's right.  And most companies won't warranty a blem.  We have thousands of cd's per year that have messed up artwork or other issues and rather than toss the stuff, we offer it out at a significant discount with no returns.  Its not uncommon in business.
  3.   Parent company is KAI.  Kershaw, Shun and Zero Tolerance
  4. Some knives are designed both ways. The 560 and 350 are not. The studs are primarily there for blade stops. My Laconico can be used both ways but I never had luck with my 560.
  5.   Exactly.  The knife is designed as a flipper.  Studs keep the blade from flipping back around.
  6. Absolutely Willis! That was the point of this video (thanks new iphone for slow motion). I was trying to show that a well built knife with a proper detent can be just as quick as te fastest and strongest autos.
  7. The one on the left is an auto.  The one on the right is not assisted in any way.
  8.     I don't know if this is going to work but I'm gonna try.   http://www.instagram.com/p/hPgNThQSZj
  9. Yeah, I really hate the we can't explain anything answers.  True as they may be, it sucks. Just another example of everything political being closed door under the table deals.
  10. Not sure.  I've been a seeing a few pimped ones lately that the texture has been sanded down on the frame and then ano'd.  They look fantastic that way.  Makes me want to get one and give it a go!
  11. Here you go Mike.       http://www.truenorthknives.com/vcom/product_info.php?cPath=347_415_416&products_id=4408&osCsid=a103e4be1767b02bf02105fb16b20f85
  12. I don't know what your talking about.  The victorinox was only 20 bucks...  :taunt:
  13.     My gun is a tool.   Weapon is defined as "a tool used with malicious intent."  If the intent isn't malicious, its just a tool.
  14. Here Mike. Take your mind off of it.
  15. I wonder what he thinks of this Mayo large Covert in my pocket.  Stellite 6K blade too.
  16.     Nah.  No nerve struck.  Was just trying to point out the absurdity of your statement.  Spots offered to give the man a knife but even that is valued at well over 100 dollars.  The thing is, craftsman charge for the time they put into something.  And they should be compensated.  In the case of these folders, around that 100 dollar price point is where things tend to jump in not just quality but materials as well.  You move from steel handled knives to exotic composites and titanium.  Blade steels improve.  Quality control improves.  Manufacture moves from China back to the USA.  And collectibility becomes a factor.  You can buy the knife, use it for a while, decide to upgrade and get most of your back if not all.  I have two knives on me right now that are worth more than MSRP and they are used.
  17.   Anything wrong with a used HiPoint for around $100?   I don't understand these $500 glocks....then again, we are just being absurd here about someone else's money.
  18.     You act as though one knife is the solution... Knives are like guns and potato chips...
  19.     That's a plus right?
  20. Zt 350 is a favorite in that range. What are you doing with the old spyderco?
  21. I think you are all missing the point.  Chuck likes to sword fight...
  22. My mechanic is at Christian Brothers on Summer at Whitten.  A little higher priced than other places but I trust them like no other.
  23. Mike beat me to it.  If you go with the worksharp, get the Ken Onion version.  And then go ahead and plan on getting all of the attachments.  One of the attachments will allow it to take a leather belt for stropping.  And stropping is all you need 9 times out of 10 anyways.
  24.     My springer service grade came from CMP and you would be silly not to order one.  Great rifle!
