I don't personally know anyone that will let me, and I'm not dropping a grand on something that feels like it should cost 300 bucks just to find out if I like it.
-
I shared your level of excitement once. Then I fondled one. Seemed ridiculously cheap. So I passed. Still haven't shot one.
-
I want a tan one something fierce. But I've abandoned 5.56. I'm waiting on 300blk.

The state has done research about it for the fiscal note. The frequency of convictions for knife crimes is so small, that they are basing their note off of one conviction every ten years. This isn't a perfect example though as this doesn't cover people who had the lesser charges dropped or anything like that. -

I think a buck is scarier looking than a kershae crown. But I understand your point. It's why I only share that video with my friends. -

I was gonna say the same thing. For the record, I could do the same video with a standard thumb stud opener. -

If I could just take off work and travel willy nilly, I'd be in Nashville every day fighting for this bill. This is something that I feel very strongly about. So I do as much as I can in emailing and calling my representatives and informing my peers. -

I'm glad you brought this up. I posted a video to instagram about it a while back. I used the iPhone's slow motion to make this and since it won't upload direct to IG, its a bit grainy but you can definitely get the full view. http://instagram.com/p/hPgNThQSZj/ The knife on the right is my Laconico Blast flipper. A non assisted blade. The knife on the left is a Protech Rockeye Auto. You can clearly see that they are nearly the same speed. The biggest difference, is that the auto requires two hands to close. -

Sen. Ketron sounds like the type of person that doesn't understand that criminals don't pay attention to laws. I suspect that he is a lost cause. -

Senator Finney was the no vote in the Senate Judiciary committee. Please write him and encourage him to support this bill moving forward. http://www.capitol.tn.gov/senate/members/s27.html -

I was right the first time. It will move to the full Criminal Justice Committee in the house. Senate bill has still not been placed on calendar. -

Maybe that's the problem... Personally, I don't care for lobbyists. I have very strong opinions about them. And I certainly don't feel that lobbyist groups like the NRA represent my interests. However, in this one instance, I concede that this legislation likely wouldn't exist without KnifeRights involvement. -

Just got voted on. Can't hear the vote in the feed they give but it did pass without much issue. It will now move to full committee (I think). Senate version hasn't yet been placed on calendar. *Edit: Ritter said that it will go to House Finance Ways and Means next. Regardless, still a lot of committees and votes to go! -

The bill last year was neutered down to just a preemption bill. So this year, we are trying again. -
Dip would eat aluminum, yes.
-
Probably more lead than powder. The carbon tends to come off a bit easier and when I scrape this with a knife, it looks just like lead. Aluminum, which is why I went this way instead of trying the dip. Its a one piece "monocore."

My can has been dirty for a long time. Been trying to clean it since I bought it but nothing has worked (its a third hand unit). So I decided to try soda blasting. A buddy was kind enough to let me dirty up his driveway and use his compressor and we gave it a go. These are a couple of shots of the can before trying the blaster. That second one is a bad shot but you can see the build up a little bit on that first baffle. I had actually cut a lot of it off with a razor blade before though. This is the first blaster that I tried. And here are a few shots that I took after using it. I found that for one, that small hopper was a nightmare. And two, the blaster was made for larger media which also didn't help any. But I did make some progress. This is a shot of the back of the baffles. The little blaster worked pretty good on them. But I knew I wasn't going to make any real progress that way. So I went bought a better blaster. At least the hopper was larger. And I was hoping the interchangeable nozzles would help but I bought the wrong ones. And after a half hour or so yesterday, this is what I have now. You can see that there is still a bit of buildup in a few baffles but I was having a hard time with those. That might just be too much for soda to get. I might have to try a more aggressive media. Regardless, I'm pretty happy. Here is one more picture. This is the inside of the blast baffle. All that silver that you see was completely black. I actually didn't know it was silver until I started blasting it.

Still just committees and subcommittees for now. I won't be pleasantly surprised until it's signed on the governors desk. -

I'm not confident either. I don't trust the TSA. And I don't trust the group from Memphis. -
Knife Rights said we would be back to fix TN and we are!
