People like to think the worst of the ATF. And sure, they shouldn't exist. But the folks that work there aren't evil and out to get you. If they were, they wouldn't have jobs. They really are having to build a complicated site and it really does take time, especially when you are dealing with government funds.

First Class III and Trust!

Yes Ron. That's how it works for paper forms. You get a letter saying that there was an error. Fix the error and you are usually approved in a couple of weeks at most. -
Not necessarily. The breaks that he took actually could have killed it sooner than if he were running it faster. Its heat soak or something like that. Basically, it gets hotter several seconds after you stop shooting than when you are shooting. I could be wrong though. I'm no sciencatician.

Officer shot himself--and the gun store gets sued......
Capbyrd replied to Parrothead's topic in General Chat
The store was stupid. But not liable. The officer racked the slide. At that point, if he fails to check it before yanking the boom maker, its entirely his fault. -
Seriously, for 168 for that can, I'd be willing to give it a shot. I have a Mite right now and its at Gemtech getting the core swapped out. I have a Warlock II in jail. I wish I had gone with the Spectre instead of the Warlock though. I need to stop buying aluminum rimfire cans.

Gordon, have you seen the pictures that Taylor Pickerell sometimes posts of him putting three lug adapters on pistols? its awesome. I've thought about doing that to my 92 and then I'd only need a booster for the g17. All of my carbines and the 92 could share a mount system. -

I think its safe to say that you aren't a real operator. All the real operators hate the pistol. Its evidenced quite clearly on the internet every time the pistol gets brought up. You cannot operate effectively with the Beretta 90 series. -

I just use my regular checks. You can use a cashier's check though if you want. As for mail. It doesnt matter. I like to track mine and I hate bending it so I usually use a USPS envelope and get tracking. but its not necessary. When they send it back, they send it in a regular envelope and folded in thirds. -

Negatory sir. http://www.atf.gov/files/forms/download/atf-f-5320-1.pdf Section 3b. Applicant's name and address. The applicant on a Form 1 is the Manufacturer of the NFA item. Thats why the form is called an Application to MAKE and Register a Firearm. -

The manufacturer info should match exactly what is on the form 1. -
I'm gonna start a qc10 build soon.

I never had a problem with water getting in. On a hard rain, for several days, I'd notice a small amount of water around the back of the bed but I could never tell if it was from just dripping in when I opened it up or actually leaking somewhere. I'm pretty sure it wasn't leaking though. The tubes you see in the last picture are the drip rail built into it and as long as you run those out of the truck, you should be fine.

I had an Undercover Flex on my last truck. It was great. You can't really fold it up and put a 4wheeler in it. But it has two knobs that loosen it from the frame and you can pull the whole thing off. Takes about 2 minutes. Very nice cover.

Where is the "doesn't matter one way or the other" option. Its not that I "Don't want." Its simply that I just don't care...

Thing is though, he is not an ass. He might play one on YouTube or not take shit from customers bitching about a 5 dollar product, but he really isn't. John is a good guy and loyal to his friends and customers. I'm happy to call john a friend. But you certainly don't have to like him or even buy his stuff. He won't mind. I'm not even his target market and most of the Internet isnt either. But we keep giving him money and making Camden richer. So he must be doing something right. -
Well thats what the DOD required for the 1911's replacement. And its not been removed from the requirement. So regardless of what people want, this is what you are going to get. Personally, for my purposes, it doesn't effin matter and I like my berettas.

Nice. Really want to see how this turns out. -
Lately, I've been getting more and more into the legal side of things and really educating myself about why things are certain ways and how we can change them. One of the things that I have been looking into was background checks. According to the ATF, there are a number of states that a NICS check is not required if the purchaser is a permit holder. I hesitate to use abbreviations here because so many different states have different types of permits. Well, TN has one of the most stringent class requirements for obtaining a permit so why couldn't TN also save folks 10 bucks a pop. I've been working with some people for a couple of months and couldn't figure this one out. I assumed it was a money thing since the state handles the checks. But its not exactly that easy. I finally found the answer on the TBI site today. I seriously doubt that we could ever get this changed unless we added a significant fee to the permit cost. That was a bit disappointing. I also learned that a NICS check is not necessary for NFA purchases. If an individual buys an NFA item, they can even have it mailed to them within their state. Its pretty cool. The 4473 still has to be filled out but no background check is required.

I saw this earlier and chose to ignore it. Unreliable source with no proof to back up the claim. Typical internets.

A lot of stuff needs to be abolished. But I work within the system until those changes can be made, if they ever are.

The money part and wait sucks. other than that, the paperwork isn't much more than a 4473
