  1. Leonard had nothing to do with this bill. And it's rare, but people have been arrested under this.
  2. Currently, TN is a Defense to Prosecution state.  Instead of NFA items just being outright legal, the law allows us a defense to prosecution.  That means that we could still be arrested and charged but we would have our stamps as a defense in court.  You can read more about that here.  http://www.nfafa.org/WTF-Is-Defense-To-Prosecution.cfm         Todd Rathner has gotten sponsorship for a bill to change this.  The bill has a number now.  SB0181 (Companion HB0136) http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/default.aspx?BillNumber=SB0181&GA=109     This bill gets rid of questionable wording and replaces it with wording that will make our firearms ownership completely legal.   Because this bill has to do with NFA items, this could be potentially an uphill battle against the ignorant left.  Please start contacting your congress people and urge them to support this bill.  Its never too early to start and we can use all the help we can get.   Also, if you haven't already, please consider joining the NFAFA.  NFAFA was started by Todd Rathner to change NFA laws all around the country.  If you aren't familiar with Todd, he worked with KnifeRights last year to help us legalized switchblades and long knives in TN.  Todd is also a member of the board of NRA.  He needs our support to pass this bill and others like it across the country.       http://www.nfafa.org/     Also worth mentioning is that NFAFA will be having a raffle in the coming months for a lot of cool stuff.  Keep an eye out.  Follow on Facebook for the most up to date info on what Todd and NFAFA are doing.     https://www.facebook.com/NFAFreedomAlliance
  3. That's the great thing about the flex. It has two hand nuts to loosen and it comes off. Takes all of 2 minutes and can be done by one person if absolutely necessary.
  4. Because projects are fun.
  5. It has no value now. Im not looking to add value. Just make something fun.
  6.     From my incredibly extensive research (5 minutes), this was done by the importer.  My coworker has one nearly identical.  He said his dad bought his from a bucket in Woolworth's in the Raleigh Springs Mall in 1972.
  7. Its a semi auto version of the exact same rifle.  Change the trigger out.  BOOM! R&D done.
  8.     Umm, I think the R&D was done nearly a century ago.
  9. Recently acquired this fella here. My quick bit of research led me to believe that I have a sporterized Oviedo 1893 Spanish Mauser. Need to know if that is accurate. If so, would this be a good candidate for a rhineland arms 45 kit? The gun is in really rough shape and I'd take the time to get it all fancy again. Just thinking out loud at this point.
  10.     If you can't afford John Wells trust, you can't afford NFA items.
  11.     People like to think the worst of the ATF.  And sure, they shouldn't exist.  But the folks that work there aren't evil and out to get you.  If they were, they wouldn't have jobs.   They really are having to build a complicated site and it really does take time, especially when you are dealing with government funds.
  12. Yes Ron. That's how it works for paper forms. You get a letter saying that there was an error. Fix the error and you are usually approved in a couple of weeks at most.
  13.     Not necessarily.  The breaks that he took actually could have killed it sooner than if he were running it faster.  Its heat soak or something like that.  Basically, it gets hotter several seconds after you stop shooting than when you are shooting.  I could be wrong though.  I'm no sciencatician.
  14.         He's aware.  That's why he mentioned it in his first post.
  15. The store was stupid.  But not liable.   The officer racked the slide.  At that point, if he fails to check it before yanking the boom maker, its entirely his fault.
  16. Seriously, for 168 for that can, I'd be willing to give it a shot.   I have a Mite right now and its at Gemtech getting the core swapped out.     I have a Warlock II in jail.  I wish I had gone with the Spectre instead of the Warlock though.  I need to stop buying aluminum rimfire cans.
  17. Gordon, have you seen the pictures that Taylor Pickerell sometimes posts of him putting three lug adapters on pistols?  its awesome.  I've thought about doing that to my 92 and then I'd only need a booster for the g17.  All of my carbines and the 92 could share a mount system.
  18.     I think its safe to say that you aren't a real operator.  All the real operators hate the pistol. Its evidenced quite clearly on the internet every time the pistol gets brought up.   You cannot operate effectively with the Beretta 90 series.
  19. I just use my regular checks.  You can use a cashier's check though if you want.   As for mail.  It doesnt matter.  I like to track mine and I hate bending it so I usually use a USPS envelope and get tracking.  but its not necessary.  When they send it back, they send it in a regular envelope and folded in thirds.
  20.     Negatory sir.   http://www.atf.gov/files/forms/download/atf-f-5320-1.pdf     Section 3b.  Applicant's name and address.  The applicant on a Form 1 is the Manufacturer of the NFA item.  Thats why the form is called an Application to MAKE and Register a Firearm.
  21. The manufacturer info should match exactly what is on the form 1.
  22. I'm gonna start a qc10 build soon.
  23. I never had a problem with water getting in. On a hard rain, for several days, I'd notice a small amount of water around the back of the bed but I could never tell if it was from just dripping in when I opened it up or actually leaking somewhere.  I'm pretty sure it wasn't leaking though.  The tubes you see in the last picture are the drip rail built into it and as long as you run those out of the truck, you should be fine.
  24. I had an Undercover Flex on my last truck. It was great. You can't really fold it up and put a 4wheeler in it. But it has two knobs that loosen it from the frame and you can pull the whole thing off. Takes about 2 minutes. Very nice cover.
  25. Where is the "doesn't matter one way or the other" option.   Its not that I "Don't want."  Its simply that I just don't care...
