  1. Thanks!   I'm still waiting on it to make it into a calendar to update my thread.  Hoping that this passes. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/85423-defense-to-prosecution-bill/

    ...

I bet the people having problems aren't running boosters.
  3.     I have a copy of my schedule A that has all of my items on it.  But when I send it to ATF, they don't get that copy.  Hasn't really hurt me yet.
  4.   As I stated in my previous post, MY INFERENCE.  I'm sorry it got you so upset.  But I clearly said that my post was because of what I inferred from his.  If I took it wrong, then that's on me.             I like to think that I haven't been around real lobbyists.  I have been around people passionate about the issues that they are lobbying for though.  And I respect those people.  I suppose I owe you an apology for misreading your post.  So I apologize.  But some of us are passionate about our beliefs as well.  And I've not seen much from the TFA that would lead me to believe that they are any different than the NRA.  So I come in to this thread with misconceptions about your group.  My sincere apologies.
  5.     Doesn't hurt my feelings.  I understand the point of his post.  But if he insults the people that are paying him while doing it, does it not diminish his credibility some?  I don't have a lot of respect for people when they think that they are the only ones that can accomplish something and that is certainly the way that his post came across.   You want to slap me in the face for my inference of a post, so be it.
  6. I just started another thread on this in the hunting section because I didn't see this one.  Sorry.  The majority of this bill refers to hunting equipment and supplies and given the time frame of the weekend, I would say that the bill is geared towards hunting more than any Pro 2A act.
  7.     I disagree with your first point vehemently.  I believe that store owners have every right to request that you not bring a gun into their place of business.   I believe that I have the same right when someone visits my house.  However, I would like to civil liability placed on the store owner if something happens and adequate security is not provided.
  8.     Spoken like a true lobbyist.  The summation of your post is as follows.   "Only I can make the difference and your voice is worthless.  Give me your money so I can fight for you."   That post alone is enough to make me skip over the TFA.  You cannot have my money.  It will go elsewhere.
  9. Throwing this in the hunting section since the bill is primarily catering to the hunting crowd.   SB0206 and HB0239 seek to create a 2A sales tax holiday on the first weekend of September each year.     Here are the important parts of the bill.          http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/billinfo/default.aspx?BillNumber=SB0206
  10. Yeah you'd probably burn yourself.   It gets HOT!  And quicker than you would expect.  Just keep in mind that the more you use the wrap, the more heat you are trapping in.
  11. Yes my wait was an in stock item.
  12. Wraps actually keep heat in. Cool down times will vary with load and ambient temps and all kinds of other factors. The only reason to use a wrap, in my opinion, is to negate mirage in a scope. Outside of that, it's not necessary.
  13. Picked up my most recent Thursday. Pending 10/23. Approved 1/22. They are getting quicker.
  14.   The plan was to do the conversion.  And then down the road, have the barrel made into an integral unit.  Like a delisle.
  15. Leonard had nothing to do with this bill. And it's rare, but people have been arrested under this.
  16. Currently, TN is a Defense to Prosecution state.  Instead of NFA items just being outright legal, the law allows us a defense to prosecution.  That means that we could still be arrested and charged but we would have our stamps as a defense in court.  You can read more about that here.  http://www.nfafa.org/WTF-Is-Defense-To-Prosecution.cfm         Todd Rathner has gotten sponsorship for a bill to change this.  The bill has a number now.  SB0181 (Companion HB0136) http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/default.aspx?BillNumber=SB0181&GA=109     This bill gets rid of questionable wording and replaces it with wording that will make our firearms ownership completely legal.   Because this bill has to do with NFA items, this could be potentially an uphill battle against the ignorant left.  Please start contacting your congress people and urge them to support this bill.  Its never too early to start and we can use all the help we can get.   Also, if you haven't already, please consider joining the NFAFA.  NFAFA was started by Todd Rathner to change NFA laws all around the country.  If you aren't familiar with Todd, he worked with KnifeRights last year to help us legalized switchblades and long knives in TN.  Todd is also a member of the board of NRA.  He needs our support to pass this bill and others like it across the country.       http://www.nfafa.org/     Also worth mentioning is that NFAFA will be having a raffle in the coming months for a lot of cool stuff.  Keep an eye out.  Follow on Facebook for the most up to date info on what Todd and NFAFA are doing.     https://www.facebook.com/NFAFreedomAlliance
  17. That's the great thing about the flex. It has two hand nuts to loosen and it comes off. Takes all of 2 minutes and can be done by one person if absolutely necessary.
  18. Because projects are fun.
  19. It has no value now. Im not looking to add value. Just make something fun.
  20.     From my incredibly extensive research (5 minutes), this was done by the importer.  My coworker has one nearly identical.  He said his dad bought his from a bucket in Woolworth's in the Raleigh Springs Mall in 1972.
  21. Its a semi auto version of the exact same rifle.  Change the trigger out.  BOOM! R&D done.
  22.     Umm, I think the R&D was done nearly a century ago.
  23. Recently acquired this fella here. My quick bit of research led me to believe that I have a sporterized Oviedo 1893 Spanish Mauser. Need to know if that is accurate. If so, would this be a good candidate for a rhineland arms 45 kit? The gun is in really rough shape and I'd take the time to get it all fancy again. Just thinking out loud at this point.
  24.     If you can't afford John Wells trust, you can't afford NFA items.
