  1. I'm starting to think that we have taken the "AR all the things" mantra just a little too far. That being said, this is interesting and I want to shoot one. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/01/22/overmatch-precision-arms-mk36/
  2. Looks like Yankee Hill Machine has released a pretty decent looking bolt action chassis. More pictures at the link below. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/01/22/yankee-hill-machine-marc/
  3. I want to see the numbers on this. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/01/21/shot-2019-seismic-ammunition-high-mass-loads/ No way that carries much energy. And two piece cases? Are we just making things too complicated now?
  4. I didn't know that was a thing. Those people should move or overthrow their governments.
  5. They do. Its why when someone with an ar shoots up a theater, its not that he is a nut job and needed to be culled, its that we are all evil and need to be disarmed.
  6. Thats fantastic. I love that a framer has offered to frame it for free. It would hang above my mantle with pride.
  7. New manufacture though. I wonder who was making them.
  8. It looks really cool and I was headed here to complain about the cartridge compared to 308. From the chart on Winchester's page, the 350 Legend carries about 900 pounds of energy at 200 yards. My 308 is twice that. But then @stumpy reminded me that this will fit into an ar15 action. So that changes things a little. Unless ammo is over a dollar per round, I'd be willing to throw a few down range.
  9. I was trying to find it too. The only thing I could find is that it doesn't use a proprietary bcg but rather a shortened mil spec unit. I would assume that shorter bcg equates to the buffer assembly riding into the receiver. But I really don't know. I know that some people have done recoil assemblies that go above the bcg and I feel that is the way to go, but I don't think the perfect system has been designed yet.
  10. The Achilles heel of the current model is the mags. Since this is a new mag design, I think they've already made a huge improvement. Of course, time will tell.
  11. 11k new with trailer. https://www.trackerboats.com/boat/?boat=4883
  12. https://www.offgridweb.com/gear/unconventional-weapon-braverman-stinger-pen-gun/
  13. This thread needs more pictures.
  14. I love birds of prey. He's beautiful.
  15. I was on the JROTC drill team in high school. I loved it. I was good, we were good, but nowhere near those airmen or Marines.
  16. They make a pen gun that folds into the shape of a pistol before you can shoot. It is also not an AOW. As long as the gun looks like a gun when its fired, not an AOW.
  17. The five year old and two year old that are often in the house make that a little less than safe. Although I think the five year old is good. The two year old definitely not.
  18. How do you know she isn’t about to shoot?
  19. A double action revolver uses mechanical action to load the next round. But that isn't considered semi-automatic. Now I also understand that a revolver doesn't eject the spent case. But still. Like I said above, I think the order of the action will determine how this is classified.
  20. I noticed that too. I wonder if a furniture company was nearby, or if the company doing it also made those before the war.
  21. So ive been thinking about that a lot. There are two ways that I can see this functioning. Pull the trigger, it’s a short pull like a bolt action and the round goes off. Continue pulling and it ejects and loads the next round. I think they could make a good case that is semi automatic. pulling the trigger cycles the bolt and loads the round and then releases the firing pin. I think this is closer to a double action revolver and they would have a hard time classifying it as semi auto without also reclassifying da revolvers.
  22. One of Franklin Armory's offerings at SHOT Show this year will be this thing. https://www.recoilweb.com/franklin-armory-announces-the-providence-145108.html?fbclid=IwAR3vB28LQzxZAjipSLo2qkQzVU9eO0ytx-4JLvpCsLZuU6Fm8lp2F8JOlcE Check out the link. I'm not sure what to make of it, but at least its not as dumb as a barrel with straight rifling.
  23. Thats awesome. I'll sight it in for you.
  24. Here is a very fascinating read about repurposing calvary blades into fighting knives for WWII. Also the campaign to gather knives and send to troops. https://blog.knife-depot.com/wwii-demand-for-blades-led-to-knife-crowdsourcing/?fbclid=IwAR0F9-vVRPWBnGI7tbxEaAB1vVT1wYZu8RwGgGfUXaqu8i9E5JO7oM2OYDo
  25. You said it was an accident. Beebee said it was negligence and you agreed. Which is it? I'm of the opinion that there is no such thing as an accident. Only negligence.
