I think the plastic will hold up to 6.5 okay. I'd definitely have to use metal ties if it was going on a magnum caliber.

It's a BB gun. in 6.5 creedmoor

I've been told that my Chinese scope isn't good for anything so why would I waste my good tape on it?
-
Now see, that requires money. I already have zip ties on hand. No money involved.
-
34mm tube. That's the factory scope base and yes it is a 20 moa base. My new rings have already been ordered (.885) and should arrive in a few days.
-
Does any one know if they make scope rings this low? If I can't get rings low enough then I'm thinking about just getting some zip ties and adding a wood wedge between the scope and the rail for an added few MOA of cant.

I will be the weekend before Thanksgiving but not likely before that.

As much as I hate Cali politics, it hurts my heart to see this. Big Basin Redwood Forest is burning. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/21/us/big-basin-redwoods-ca-fires.html

shame that wasn’t the attitude in 2001 or whenever the patriot act was passed.

If you have nothing to hide, why are you worried?

Thank you again. I measured it this morning and the printed part measured out at 2.43" long, 1.75" wide at the handle wings, .7" wide at the handle without wings and .59 wide thread peaks. So that lines up with the measurements above. BUT!!!! I got to work this morning and my coworker that said he didn't think he could do it, did it. And he printed me one. So thank you once again but I think this is going to work. And if it does, there will be another thread about this part.
-
Now I don't trust those measurements as TinkerCAD it seems defaults to mm. I hate this stuff (because I don't understand it).
-
The outer thread is 5/8 - 11 unc thread. I don't have the part with me to actually measure. If import the STL into tinkercad, it gives me the following measurements. 1.75 length (the handle of the screw) 0.7 width (the head of the screw without the two handles) 2.45 height (the length of the bolt overall. This measurement could be a quarter inch shorter since Ive got the thrust head set screw to put into it.) I can measure out the actual printed part when I get home. Oh, and the thrust head set screw is a 5/16-18 thread but I have a drill and tap for that so just a pilot to center my drill is all I really need. I'm going to print it solid so that it can be drilled and tapped easily. Plus I want to hold up to some serious spring pressure. I really appreciate you helping.

The nipple, or tip or whatever. Not the handle. I can barely resize photos in photoshop. Designing something from the ground up would take me months and I'd rather not wait that long.
-
Alright. Below is a picture of the part. Below that is a link to the stl. Basically, I want to cut the nipple off the end and put a hole down the center to basically act as a pilot. I'm going to be drilling the center out and tapping it to put a swivel tip set screw in. I put a picture of the set screw below as well. https://cdn.thingiverse.com/assets/7c/0c/87/86/3e/Bolt_Jig_Screw_V5.stl

Is there anyone here that could help me modify a 3D file for 3D printing? I want to modify a file that I got off of Thingiverse and I'm just not there yet.

What you like to think and the facts don't always line up!

If you decide to go folding, I don't think there are many better options than the Magpul MBUS Pro. -
Possibly. But it isn't always mentioned if they do. Regardless, admin leave isn't enough when innocent people die.

This story wasn't ignored because of media bias. Most murders don't make national news. The ones that do are typically mass murders or are murders committed by our governments. There isn't a ton of a story here. The boy was killed by a man that they had in custody within hours of the shooting. The stories that gain national media attention, at least recently are murders by cops where it takes a big push to even get the cop placed on administrative leave.

after about 4 seconds it looks like she stops blinking as much.

You still don't seem to be getting it so maybe we should just stop. He never said you couldn't comment on his post. He said that he was going to do what he felt necessary and if you didn't think a reload was necessary then you shouldn't carry one. You seemed to misunderstand what he was saying and said that he was defensive. He wasn't.
-
Since Chuck won't correct you, I will. Chuck said you do you, not you do me. In other words, he is going to do what he feels is necessary for him, and has no problem with you doing whatever you feel is necessary. He wasn't being defensive.

Not an a hole remark. I love my Marine friends (I capitalized the M so that you don't chastise me). But even they will admit from time to time that the mentality gets away from them. I know that they spend weeks in boot camp or basic training or whatever its called these days getting that mentality drilled into them. It's hard to turn that off sometimes.
