I can’t imagine that they would release it anytime soon.

Everyone should seek training. Not just inexperienced shooters. You don't know what you don't know until you learn what you didn't know and now you know.

In my experience its closer to around 97% and it is definitely not welfare for me. And seeing as how my school regularly has students in the class that do not NEED to take the class, it shows me that there is some tangible benefit to someone. If I had my way, the class would require much more than the current requirement. But the state sets the curriculum. We are not allowed to change even a slide or a word on the test. They set the shooting standard. We spend as much time on the range doing dry work as we do live fire because we deal with so many students that have never touched a gun before. I am an instructor in ECP classes and I support constitutional carry. I recommend to folks that they get training. But I'm not their daddy. I ain't making anyone do anything!

I listened to a podcast with Chris Barrett this weekend and he was asked about the fieldcraft. He said that the product line is NOT DEAD but it's also not a part of Barrett's strategy for 2021. At some point they intend to bring the line back online but he doesn't know when. He said, and take this however you'd like, that if he was in the market and found one for less than 2k, he'd buy it now.

I've got a 22 that it would likely be just fine on! haha So, uhhh, why did you remove your rear sight?

Lighter spring means more impact on the rest of the internals during recoil. It also means that the springs are going to need replaced at shorter intervals than a regular handgun but that's simple maintenance so I'm not going to get too attached that. For the average user, the EZ will probably be just fine. But the average user shoots under 100 rounds a year.

Please expand on this. I don't do red dots because the battery in my iron sights hasn't died yet. So I don't fully understand all of the lingo. But my understanding is that there isn't a dot on the market right now that won't work on a SS pistol. Seems to me that the SS system of low and direct is always going to be better than lowish but you need a special plate that also costs you more money. Maybe Walther could include a coupon in the box with each new pistol for one free plate that would at least make it a little more sensible.

To be clear, this a Shield, right? I didn't think they made EZ versions of the regular M&P line. If so, I've seen a lot of the Shield EZs (380) in my classes. They seem to be okay for what they are. They are definitely easier to teach people how to load a mag. My issue that I don't think they are intended to be the workhorses that most people would like. I expect that they will have a limited life in comparison to their regular shield siblings. Of course only time will bear that out.

Well the Glock is complete. And I test fired it today. I can’t say that it was flawless. I had a malfunction of some sort on the last round. I do not know whether it was a failure to eject or a stovepipe because I couldn’t see it. (See my latest post in the Iowa blind people permits thread for why I can’t see). I’m pretty happy with this for a first test. The concept is proven so now I’ll go ahead and order my own slide and give the borrowed slide back. This will be fun to experiment with. And I already have plans to print a 19.

H.R.8 - Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021

After our my permit class today I asked a couple of fellow instructors to stay with me and supervise me shooting the TN qual without corrective lenses. This was done on a closed range with two very experienced instructors behind me in case anything went awry. legally, a person is considered blind if their corrected vision is 20/200 or worse, or they have a field of view narrower than 20 degrees. For those that don’t know, 20/200 means that something that is 20 feet away looks the same to you, as something 200 feet away looks to a person with 20/20. 20/200 also equates to around a -2.50 prescription. While my vision corrects to 20/15 or so, my uncorrected vision is around 20/300 or worse. My prescription is -5.00 but the math isn’t simple so that being twice -2.50 doesn’t make it 20/400. I hope all of that makes sense. Now the target. This is the normal TN HCP qualification shot on a B-27 with 20 rounds at 3 yards, 20 at 5 yards and 10 rounds at 7 yards. Now for my experience shooting this. At 3 yards, the target is solid enough, it’s not a concern. My big issue is that my sights aren’t large enough to be able to focus on. My carry gun has ameriglo bolds on it and I love these sights. The yellow front is still visible without my contacts. But I can’t focus on the front. I can’t line up the top of the sights and I’m honestly just guessing at where the dot is in relation to the notch. I wish I could show y’all a picture of what I see. After I started thinking about it I really don’t know how much of this was me trying to aim and how much was me naturally point shooting. Someone starting out wouldn’t be able to point shoot unless they had some drills that I can’t imagine.

H.R.8 - Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021

I'd like to be able to be on the debate floor for this bill. Hoping one of our allies brings all of this up at some point. -
You've seen a lot of the Memphians in here refer to Tops. Tops is a fast food chain. And like I said, the place is terrible.

Samuel Johnson's 1756 dictionary gave the following definitions: "To Barbecue – a term for dressing a whole hog" (attestation to Pope) "Barbecue – a hog dressed whole"

Been praying for you for years.

To be legally blind, your vision must be 20/200 or worse after correction, or have less than a 20 degree field of view. As someone that has vision worse than 20/200 when I'm not wearing my corrective lenses, I feel confident in saying that while I couldn't drive safely, I could confidently defend my life at the distance that most self defense scenarios play out. That being said, I would be willing to hang a target and shoot the TN qual without my contacts in, just to see. And that doesn't even consider the field of view people. They might actually have a better chance, but a higher probability of an innocent running into the field of fire.

Palmetto State Armory $329 shipped AR complete upper receiver

I've inspected a handful of PSA assembled uppers lately and most of them have had some type of issue. Most common has been headspace too short for 5.56 chambers. But I've also had some that the barrel is not dimpled for the gas block and the gas block alignment is way off. Im not saying that they are all bad, just inspect your PSA stuff, especially if it comes from their budget lines.
