  1. If I shoot and kill someone, and there are no witnesses to dispute it, I can tell the cops whatever I want. All of the stuff I said doesn't matter if their story is that they were attacked by him and then got the gun and shot. I'm saying that nothing is obvious.
  2. If there is noone there to dispute the shooter's story, how is it so obvious to you?
  3. Which was months after the incident. Didn't the police have the video from day one? Regardless, that's more on the prosecution that refused than the police. And more about cronyism than race.
  4. When there is only one party alive to tell the story, NOTHING is immediately clear. Once the prosecution team or investigating officers saw the video, however, they should have had a better map of where the investigation should lead. I don't know that anyone in this thread was trying to make it about race.
  5. accidentally doubled.
  6. Did I miss the part where anyone called him a saint? As for the citizen's arrest thing, the problem with all of that is that they DID NOT have a right to affect a citizen's arrest at that point. The citizen's arrest required probable cause that he had committed a crime within a specific timeframe and that didn't exist (I think it is within the last 24 hours). They were breaking a law from the onset of their interaction with Arbery. His past does not matter at that point.
  7. As a white guy, I can, and HAVE walked ALL OVER Memphis without being bothered or scared. I used to regularly travel to Orange Mound and do mobile mechanic work with a toolbox full of valuable tools in my car. And that was before I started carrying. As Garufa said, you have no understanding of Memphis outside of the typical state narrative. Would you like to get into the nuts and bolts of the things that make Memphis crime stats look so bad? I’m not saying that there isn’t a problem here or that it’s some kind of safe Utopia. I just want you to understand that you don’t know this area like the people that live here and walk this walk every day.
  8. Most of Memphis’ issues are either drug-related or certain areas of the city or both. Remove the crime stats from all of the housing projects & areas of low income & the stats look minimal.
  9. I used to get pissed at comments like this. I'm over that now. The rest of the state hates us, I get it. We are overlooked over here when it comes to a lot of stuff. So now I'm on board. MS here we come. Hell, we will probably double the GDP of MS when we get turned over.
  10. Thanks Mike. That's another one of my projects. I designed the stand and I am working on refining it.
  11. Even if you aren't headed this way, let me know. I drive West TN and Middle TN backroads a good bit. Just to enjoy a relaxing drive.
  12. Another helpful bit of information. Don't trust advice from people on the internet without backing it up. The law is written down. Study the law to get your answers.
  13. How close do I need to get?
  14. Bump for a solid functioning scattergun
  15. You're right, I was thinking of something else when I added that part. Oops.
  16. I totally understand. For a purely hunting rifle, a tuner might not be necessary. Minute of deer is good enough. If you want to take it to the range and try to squeeze the smallest groups out of it, it seems like all of the top competitive shooters are running tuners.
  17. If you don't want a brake, there are tuners available without them. But I think Erik's tuners that aren't a brake are made for a different thread style and would require the barrel being worked.
  18. Might I recommend another option, if you aren't going suppressed? PRS EC Tuner Brake 1.100″ diameter – Cortina Precision (shootsmallgroups.com)
  19. I'm NOT an engineer, but I think that you only need like three fully engaged threads to have full clamping force. However, seating on the shoulder of the barrel is likely to introduce some concentricity issues. The threads might be concentric to the bore but the shoulder concentric to the OD. AAC latches are known to fail and the day has long since passed being able to get them serviced. Having the can converted to accept any of the modern adapters is likely a good idea. They cut the end off and thread the end of the tube to accept any of the new mount styles (I still think YHM is a good one but everyone loves the taper mount these days). I know that BSD Fabrication and Ecco Machine do good work on the AAC cans.
  20. I'm having a hard time understanding what you are getting at here. I see the pictures but don't understand the words accompanying them. Are you saying that the barrel threads are too long? Why did you stop threading it on if it threads on all the way (the second photo)?
  21. Lots of people have made this mistake. It is quiet. But phone camera mics are terrible and 16 inch pistol caliber rifles aren't loud to begin with.
  22. I've read some responses to Branca's piece that say Branca ignores or was ignorant of some pieces of Texas law that change things. I don't know Texas well enough to say, but Branca is a probably a good starting point at the very least.
