  1. I sold my mustang because I drove too fast all the time. I have a truck now and as soon as I hit the speed limit, I set cruise and don't touch the skinny pedal unless my life is on the line. I don't want or need any more tickets on my driving record. I am one year away from a clean record for the first time in the 11 years that I have been driving.
  2. Welcome from the Raleigh Bartlett area.
  3. Let me start at the beginning. I love .22's and a buddy of mine told me to come over one day and check out some of the stuff in his attic. I went over and found one that I just had to have. It was a Ruger Standard and I think I traced the serial to 1980 manufacture. The blueing on the gun is pretty decent and everything seemed to function decently so I gave him what he was asking for it and took it home. It was extremely dirty but after a good cleaning and oiling it looked great. I noticed when I had the bolt apart that the firing pin was shorter than spec and the tip of it was chewed up pretty badly. So that was the first thing I had to replace. After a new firing pin, the gun was shooting fine but I was having stovepipes out of every mag. I disassembled the mag and cleaned it really well and then got a little stumped. After some interwebs research, alot of people were suggesting that the extractor was the problem so I bought a VQ Exact Edge extractor. When it arrived, I compared the VQ unit to the stock unit and I could see that definitely would have been a problem. Its been about a month since I installed the extractor but I finally took the Ruger to the range this weekend and got to put a couple hundred rounds through it. FLAWLESS! I was amazed. And I am very excited. Even a friend who was with me was impressed and now wants a .22 pistol to plink with. I just wanted to sing the praises of the VQ Exact Edge and say that I highly recommend picking one up for your Mark series pistol or 10/22 if you are having FTE issues.
  4. I thought you left radio. (by the way, WRVR let me go back in December). If I have to go indoors, I go to RangeUSA but I am a member out at MSSA so that is usually where i go. Let me know and we can take the rifles out too. I was there Saturday and we had 10 guns out there.
  5. Awesome advert! P.S. SRS = Supplemental Restraint System
  6. Fixed a leaking shower friday night. Ran some errands saturday morning. 4 hours at the range Saturday afternoon. UFC Sat night Sunday = relax!
  7. Any time between thursday night and monday morning is fine with me.
  8. Nice bubba. Took you long enough. Now hit me up and lets get to the range.
  9. I ran through some of my stuff this weekend. Here is what I found so far. Ruger 10/22 Stainless scope base AR15 A2 grip AR15 midlength handguard with delta ring and that little front piece.

    Bobcat!

Now I want a bobcat. I knew I should have stayed out of this forum.
  11. Love the infidel. I'm diggin it!
  12. The hospital wing that operates out of memphis? OH NO! What happened? If I recall, this is the first ever incident for them. My thoughts and prayers are with them.
  13. How do you like that thing? I think it could be fun to play around with. I'll take it.
  14. Oh yeah. This is most important. DO NOT SIGN THE ORIGINAL!!!! Have fun guys!
  15. Because they value staying in business without lawsuits? Just kidding. Innovative? Nah. Its been done before. But they are unique to today's market. They will sell a ton of them but the quality is still questionable and I think I'll pass for now.
  16. Congrats. What are you going to order first? J&G Sales Aim Surplus Classic Arms Brownells Midway Century Arms Thats a good list to start with in my opinion.
  17. This reminds me of something that one of my heroes once said. I quote the great Jerry "The King" Lawler here. "Win if you can, lose if you must but always, always cheat!" Words to live by.
  18. In one of the other 1911 threads, guy said he carries his high dollar 1911's.
  19. Nah. I want to carry the cheapest possible gun that I can depend on. I could afford to buy and shoot a 3k+ 1911 but to carry one and scratch, ding, lose one is just not something I can afford.
  20. Well quit telling me to meet you on your lunch break. GAH! The only problem with that is that my 1911 requires an allen wrench to take down and I don't feel like going through all that trouble. But yes, I have the tools in my truck to tear it down. Just too much hassle. If I was carrying an XD, its not a bad idea. It would be awesome to have a holster that you could clip on that would hold the pieces.
  21. Went in for lunch today. Had to leave it in the truck. I get so nervous leaving it in my truck. I parked where I could see my truck and pretty much never took my eyes off her. As soon as they handed me my bag, I was out the door.
  22. Amen. And for that reason, I detail strip everything I buy when I first get it. After that, I am knowledgeable about the process, parts and if something breaks, I can take care of it myself. For cleaning, a basic field strip has always worked for me. Actually, my 10/22 didn't get cleaned for about 15 years and it was shot on a regular basis. I was young and didn't know any better and my dad was a procrastinator. That rifle still outshoots me to this day. Cleaning in general is overrated but I still like to make sure that I have a clean bore and bolt.
  23. Sold my mosin to help fund a garand purchase. My garand order is still processing down at CMP but will be picking up another Mosin in April and probably a mauser as well. I love Milsurps
